I feel really bad for Vac in this game. A very cool and creative special that we thought had a lot of potential pre release but got completely shafted due to the hallway maps when the game came out. Pair that with scarce and insignificant buffs for the first year of the game’s life, and you have a recipe for an awful special that otherwise has such a creative concept. A true Shakespearean tragedy.
@@dav0111no I don’t think that’s what it needs, it also ruins the entire point of the special as well. What it needs is to be cancellable manually and get a splat brella feet ink buff
@@radaf4429 Hallway maps are VERY BAD for Vac because it allows everyone to just completely focus the Vac and immediately fill it and/or kill the user in the process. Having flanks could allow the Vac to cover said flanks and make it safe for teammates to move in through certain parts of the map, thus overwhelming the opponent. Since most of the maps in S3 have next to no flanks, however, all Vac does is cover the one singular way into mid and make everyone target it, which completely takes away its protection value.
Spoon3's dogwater netcode also helps Ultra Stamp like a *lot* I get the feeling the reason its hitboxes were so tiny on release is because now it's just so hard to kite and avoid it since it seems to hit you even when it shouldn't.
they could've made the shockwaves _wider_ and it'd be a great buff, but they decided to increase the size of the waves _in all directions._ i love a clutch stamp play as much as the next guy but after the patch you sometimes can't outrun it without being chipped to death anyways which doesn't feel great needless to say
An idea i had with Big Bubbler is having the ability to be able to block the ink that spawns inside the bubble from tri strike and booyah bomb For example, if a booyah bomb was thrown on top of the bubble, the bubble will spawn the ink on TOP of the bubble instead of INSIDE the bubble. However, this can still be a disadvantage since the top of the bubbler it the weak point, but it can still help the player live a little longer in the bubble/have a better reaction time.
As a buff for Reefslider, I thought both giving it less endlag (like, one third) would be nice, but the main buff would be making the explosion stay around for longer, like a booyah bomb or tri-strike, though not at long as either of those specials. This would not only act like a smokescreen effect, allowing for more unpredictable movement, especially on Tetras, but it would also delete bombs, counter other specials better, and have more team synergy (you can actually push up with a Reefslider now lol) Of course, the explosion probably wouldn't deal damage the entire time it lingers, but a smoke-screen effect like a thicker, non-transparent Mist would be incredibly nice for the special, even just for a second or so. As for Inkvac... Idk man make the projectile faster and give less lag frames swapping for firing mode or something, the maps just slaughter this thing.
So basically you want reefsliders explosion exactly like splashdowns😂 Also all Vac just needs is a way to cancel it and it would immediately be bumped up to mid tier, and then some more quality quality of life changes would make it a good special imo
Vac would be amazing if the maps were larger. I know you touched on that in the map-rework mega special, but the more I've used BP, the easier it is to fill a vac with the charge and punish it before it can do the trick shot. i just want the beta map designs back
I wish kraken still had the ability to use swim speed, that was my favorite thing about the special. If they upped the damage (maybe not one shot but more than just 60) and added swim speed functionality I think it’s feel a lot better and fix it’s problems
Awesome to see Inkjet rise up so high. It’s the best it’s ever been and feels so good to use now. Very quickly becoming one of my favorite specials. Hopefully if we get 3rd kits (which we most likely will) we’ll finally get a short range shooter with it (Wasabi x Inkjet anybody?)
Something I think would be helpful (if not just a fun addition) for tristrike would be the ability to press ZR to burst fire all three strikes at once (with a bit of spread so they don't all hit the exact same spot but instead act as one large strike) . You would obviously lose a bit of displacement potential but it would allow you to punish opponents that are tightly grouped with one huge explosion as well as let you burn through your strikes more quickly if you get jumped possibly providing a chance to retreat or even win the engagement without giving it the ability to easily reposition and thus be harder to punish
if they make strikes swimmable we enter missiles meta 2.0. i've been saying this forever they put neo splash in the game and permanently ruined zones comps LOL you're onto something though, giving it a way to be near-identical to s1 inkstrike would be really interesting
@@smittz_you’ve been commenting such doomer hater shit under anyones replies that remotely suggest making something better 💀 could you like, maybe not be such a doomer? No, making triple inkstrike swimmable won’t make it a “missile meta 2.0”, whatever that means. Tristrike is not missiles. It will never have the potential missiles has when it’s paired with another good special. It deserves swimming mode because right now it’s awful to actually get maximum usage out of it.
@@twewymuncher ofc it won't have the same impact as missiles even if you had way more mobility lol. but if missiles it getting a sack of rocks thrown at you then tristrike is a wall and rn i don't think the explosions last long _enough_ lmao, that's the most impactful way you could buff it imo but let's say you're on hammerhead zones against four strike weapons slowly cycling their specials to clog the *one* way you have to contest the zone. by the time the twelfth goes off their headman with two pures of SCU has his next set ready again this is a fault of the maps but like, if they don't get fixed? and tristrike becomes effective area denial but the special stays as disposable as it is on the painting weapons that have it? maybe a tiny bit degenerative
Trizooka is very underrated imo. It was hard to get used to its weird shots but now after almost a year I can get pretty consistent with it. It's all about positioning and timing... And aiming and hoping the hitbox doesn't screw you over, which does happen, but not as often as people say
It's a shame Ink Vac has become so easily countered. I really enjoy using it, and it's such a fun supportive special (so long as you don't panic it in self preservation with no teammates around, expecting to come out on top). I've pulled off some crazy things with it in Soloque.
i think big bubbler's whole thing being a big version of the bubbbler is sorta what's holding it back. if it were a little smaller and didn't shrink with damage/time i think would be better
Also, I'm looking forward to seeing the main weapon tier list to hear your thoughts on Tri-Slosher Nouveau, since you talked heavily about how only N-Zap can cooler cycle, but Tri Nouveau was very heavily utilized in this role at Koshien and has been placing high on some other tierlists. Not saying you're wrong, but I'm curious to hear your assessment on it.
Here are some of the buffs and nerfs I would give to the specials triple inkstrike should be able to swim but also have a cooldown similar to missiles. Stamp should either 1. Be invincible from the front. Or 2. Have it's duration nerf toned down a bit Booyah Bomb should also have a cooldown like missles Bubbler should Take less damage from most specials aside from stamp and reefslider. Ink Vac should be able to release its shot early using the r button, and be able to hold more enemy ink Reefslider is a pretty obvious buff, just give it more Invincibility frames and have the explosion destroy bombs. Crab Tank just needs to do a bit less object damage and unable to do anything for 0.5 to 1 second. Tenta missiles should only be able to target 3 people (I don't know if this nerf is too extreme). Super Chump just needs to have a slightly bigger explosion radius.
From what I understood, it's like we have a new "rock paper scisors" meta in the sense that crab beats cooler, cooler beat jet and jet beats crab which I think is kinda cool in a way
@@slurples149no? this list was made to inform people about a pro player's well educated opinions on the best in the game. it's something that not just anyone watching his videos could make, and something that applies to many more people than just him. a list on how fun a weapon is to play is something anyone could make, and applies to only the person making it.
I think you should do another vid (like you did for 2) on what changes/new mechanics you would make for specials to make them all balanced. You could also do it with mains and subs!
The problem is only a few specials actually need changes to be balanced at this point, nintendo actually did a decent job at balancing them. The specials for the most part do what they're designed to do and it's not great for nintendo to change that
I’m curious what you have to say about the angle shooter with the newer kits that it’s on, for the sub tier list video. I really like it on the rapid pro deco and I imagine it also feels good on the big swig.
Last I remember I don't think big swig needed it at all, vertical swing already has good range and acts as a combo tool for the weapon, but I could be wrong
@@Kayso789 I recommend watching pikadave’s video about angle shooter. He specifically went over how it benefits the three non-shooter weapons that currently have it (rapid pro, big swig, and slosher). I didn’t like it much when I first started using it, but now I can hit directs with it around 30-50% of the time and it seems much better. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not top tier by any means because most of its value comes from hitting directs. But there’s no way it’s theoretically worse than toxic mist and sprinkler for the three non-shooter kits that have it.
It doesn't help big swig very much. It has pretty much the same problems that bucket has with line marker. It gives swig is a situational damage combo, and that's about it. It can be used to paint it's feet alright, but that doesn't help it very much because it's a big swig, it should not be getting out painted. Plus, rollers want to play under ledges, and you can't use line marker at all in that case. Most bombs in the game would've done the job better imo. Rapid pro likes angle shooter because the damage combo drastically reduces it's kill time, and it's a longer ranged weapon with ink efficiency issues, so having a long ranged and cheap combo is great. It's actually a really good pairing, I'd still say it would like torpedo, fizzy, or burst bomb more, but it's the only weapon that isn't hurting from having line marker. This doesn't mean it's a good sub, it's more because the really niche use cases of line marker compliment rapid pro very well.
as a bucket main and someone who pockets deco a fair bit, marker will be dogshit until it aims directly at your crosshair. there’s no reason for it to literally be a good distance away from where you’re aiming and it makes it feel so clunky to use
For me to the 4 bottom tiear buffs Ink vac: can cancel and shot earlier, and if you shot earlier you can charge and shot again Bubbler: TRANSFORM INTO A INK IMPENETRABLE SHIELD so no special will work against it. If a enemy enter give mist effect Reefslider: minor end lag Chunks: more radius explosion, more compact radius display and early explosion
@@jakcesleepingrn5739 about Bubble: no because the low HP and the weak point still remains. About the specials I wanted to say that no bombs, specials or shots can cross the barrier (as with the ink wall)
I'm surprised to see Inkjet so high up. Given how slow both the movement AND its projectiles are, it's very telegraphed and both easy to dodge and easy to take out, so long as your weapon has a bit of range. Controlling it yourself is an absolute pain too
you just kinda die if you're target of somewhat good inkjet user you run → death you rush it → they dodge and you die you use your special → most of the time die you jump out → lottery for direct hit
Personally, I have a soft spot for reefslider. In the very first game I played with it in the test fire, on I believe either mahi or mincemeat, I got a triple with it
My opinion of how to buff bubble: - revert to previous size - increase damage resistance and other interactions to some specials. For example, in my opinion: - 2 tri-strikes should reduce the bubble from full health to 1 second left, (more realistically in almost every situation it will fully kill the bubble because it takes a second or more to see the bubble show up, pop the special, throw, and have them detonate). They should not hit a player standing in the bubble while it is still up - wavebreaker should either damage the shield or go through it, not both - it should survive rain passing over it with about a third hp left - other similar stuff for some other specials, but some/many should remain counters like booyah, slider, others After leaving it like that for 1 update cycle: - tweak special damage/interaction back a bit if necessary - increase hp (but not duration) slightly
To me it seems like it was intended to be a good thing if your inc vac is full, because you can take the shot and get a chance to splat an enemy. But exactly that filling is the main weakness of the special. That does not make any sense
There’s a delay between getting your vacuum full and being able to throw it, and in the games I played using ink vac before the splat charger got a different kit, it was incredibly hard to throw it at all or without getting splatted. Maybe I was just bad/frustrated with it, but I also found that its sucking radius wasn’t great. Being able to suck up Booyahs sounds great in theory, but for me it was inconsistent to do. I can see it being an okay special with team coordination covering some of its vulnerabilities, but as a solo queue player I found it more worthwhile to not even use it.
I want to put here that if vdapples had a different utility sub/bomb then they could see more use and there would be two viable cooler weapons. unfortunately wiper deco also has beakon and uses more flank routes and is overall a more useful weapon that vdapples
I remember when we were still trying to figure out tteks special it was between tri strike and inkjet and I was all for tristrike because I wanted to kind of relive the days of the wasabi splattershot but now I wish it had inkjet not only cause its good now but because I dropped slosher for ttek cause it got the exact same kit and I would like a little variety in some of the weapons I take into X and compete with
One problem Big Bubbler has that I would change is how many frames it takes to activate it. See, unlike other specials, Bubbler doesn't cancel the shooting of your main weapon to deploy. This means that if you're shooting, you have to go through all of those frames, and then it gives you the option to try and deploy it. If you're trying to set it up in front of your team and you don't have the high ground, you're usually dead by this time. It's not much of an opportunist kind of special weapon because of this. So I would first get rid of this. Another change I would make is changing how Kraken Royale's attacks interact with Big Bubbler's shield. Kraken has three attacks: the charge dash, the jump, and the parry. All three do damage to the Bubbler when they hit its shield. That is not the problem. The problem is that these attacks go straight through the shield, not even blocking the attack for the it's team. My solution for this is to give Kraken roller properties when interacting with Big Bubbler's shield. If any of Kraken's attacks hit the Bubbler's shield's hit box at all, it gets knocked back. Kraken can still swim through the shield and attack, it just can't charge through without getting knocked back. Let's say the distance of two and a half players. The last thing I would change would be nerfing how much damage most shooters, most splatlings, and most dualies do to the shield without object shredder. This is because most of the weapons in these three weapon classes have a very efficient special output. So if I am using either of the Splashes, either of the Splattershots, or a Ballpoint, and I see the enemy set up a Big Bubbler, I'm gonna use my Crab Tank, I'm gonna use my Trizooka, I'm gonna use my Tristrike, I am going to use my Inkjet to deny the enemy the ability to set up an attack around the Bubbler. That's assuming I am the one to deal with it. If I got something like a Tri-Stringer or a Stamper on my team, I am just gonna let them deal with it. So, in other words, some of the strongest weapon classes already got enough going for them where they don't need to be too amazing against Big Bubbler. I might also give this same nerf to Splatana Wiper. This would be enough of a change for now.
Personally I don't think it's good to change the damage against the shield based on particular weapons, those weapons should be buffed/nerfed themselves rather than specifically against bubbler. But other than that, I agree with what you have said.
Another simple buff is to decrease the amount of time needed to start charging the special again after you use it by like 2 seconds. It allows you to use to bubbler more freely and to use it as special bait
Hey remember bubbler from splatoon 1 Instant activation panic button shield with almost no counterplay Yeah if you'll remove startup frames then you kinda recreated bubbler from splatoon 1
Not sure if it was taken into account here. but i do think there should be a convo here about SPU as well. like if it actually helps the special be better or not and if running SPU beings a special up a tier or not
Thinking about it… Since cooler cycling is a good counter for Jet, Jet being a good counter for crab, and crab being a good counter for cooler. Could there potentially be another Triangle meta in the future if nintendo does buff cooler more?
I see the idea, unfortunately we still need a better main weapon for cooler, and besides, cooler isn’t a direct counter to jet. Players use cooler as a way to not get punished when losing fights versus jet, meanwhile they don’t gain any realistic benefits towards actually fighting/winning vs jet. Also, the sub and main weapon of n-zap makes it only really a strong supportive kit, and will lose individual matchups to splash and ballpoint, which have more aggressive main and sub weapons. Also, the concept of the triangle meta was really for how the main weapons in S2 (enperry dualies < cblaster < sorella brella < ) countered each other, and the way the S3 meta weapons work doesn’t function the same way as the triangle, but still, it’s very exciting to see and play in the state of the game right now
I just really hate how people ink vac could’ve been a really good special with their map philosophy from splatoon 2, and the buffs they could’ve given it.
I actually feel that Slider > Zip and maybe Kraken. They're all very similar, as you noted. With all three specials, they have consistency problems. My reason for thinking Slider is the best of the three is because it's the quickest and gets the most consistent value. You're pretty much always going to get in, get the explosion, and either take someone out or severely damage a couple people. It's not likely to get shut down the way Zip sometimes does, or to potentially end up just displacing one person and not doing a lot the way Kraken sometimes does. Sure, you might die (I do think that the better you get with slider, the less often you'll die, but the risk is always there), but you're not likely to die pointlessly, if you do go down, you're at least getting something for it.
I just wish the devs would do ink vac some justice next update and give it the ability to eat infinite ink during the duration instead of the limit so I can still use it when there's so much going on around me😢
If you guys don't know how bad it is for Vac right now: - Every Vac kit has received a second kit, all of which are actually good kits with no reason to use the vac kit by comparison (better subs especially) - Vac has not been on a second kit so far (despite over half the weapons having a second kit) - X Rank usage stats recorded as of recent show that no Ink Vac kit has escaped the bottom 15 for usage (and the least used is VRapid Pro btw, a vac weapon) - Got the smallest buff out of the big 5 buffs in 3.1 (for Reefslider, Cooler, Stamp, Inkjet and Vac), despite being in an arguably worse state than any of those 4 were Please buff this thing, idk how just please give it something 😭
It’s kind of sad to me that the only times things like reef slider are talked about positively in any way are when someone big uses it well. Yes the special is not good, can it sometimes be good? Yes. You have to use the special very carefully and know what your doing with it and it will be useful in that case people just rag on it because they don’t want to learn how to use it. (Which can be fair but if it’s not a special you use then just calm down)
The buff and nerf that I want the most for specials. Buff: Being able to jump off the Reefslider at any time in exchange for not being able to control where it explodes. Nerf: Tenta Missiles should only detect targets within the circle reticle.
Are there any specials from splatoon 1 and/or 2 that you think could get ported in splatoon 3, and still be good for the game, or are there any specials you think would need reworks to get in?
I love super chump but it does need a few buffs: 1) Explosion should be reduced from 4 seconds to 2.5 seconds 2) Their HP should increase by 40%-50% to make them harder to pop and wave breaker doesn’t destroy them all in one shot 3) Increase the explosion radius by 20%
Vac even has extra salt in the wound where all but one kit has a utility/ bad sub that the main can't hard carry in place of a bomb, which even bubble avoids with a few of its kits having actual bombs/ workable synergy as a whole
Vac doesn't have the range for it's trick to really support. Bubbler needs either more resistance or more teeth. I saw one comment suggest a toxic mist effect inside and I like that.
I find it funny how chat asks questions like "why is bubble so low" or "Reefslider is higher than bubble?" as you are explaining what makes bubble bad/what makes reefslider not as bad as people think lol
It’s such a shame that some specials are just always going to be bad, no matter what amount of buffs they are given. The only way that they could be fixed is by being replaced with another special along the lines of the original. But of course, Nintendo’s obviously not going to do that.
The vaccum I think could be made to absorb subs to buff it it may be really cracked also I’m thinking it could be harder to fill and stamp I think could make a ink wall in front of it making it invincible on the front while moving and it could also be made to destroy dubs if it hits them and maybe some of the ink on the front could protect it on the side so people have to get behind it more which makes it a better rush tool which is what it does
Custom kits may be necessary in the future since it would give Nintendo info on what people want and don't want on their main + what's the likelihood that Nintendo makes good kits 2 to 3 times in a row for each main (player customizable is almost always a plus).
vac would be nice if it damaged a player that touches you so you can't have a roller just walk up to you and squish you or a splatana slash you up close. that and maybe suck ink off the ground as well but I'm not sure how that will interact with the points and scoring during turf war
I honestly feel like with the reefslider if you can drop roll after the explosion with the main ability drop roll. Then it can go up the tier list. It would be more gear dependent but honestly with how bad it is at dying, I am willing to take that.
I would love if slider could be steered mid roll, like the lines on the ground showing the straight path for it but if you are player could actually deviate from that a little bit it would make it harder to predict
I find it really cool that big bubbler is d, and reefslider is c, but if you combine them you get S+ tier, bc if someone uses big bubbler to protec the reefslider user than its just a free ticket into enemy turf
@@kirbo7762 bubbler user with max swim speed can keep up with the reef user by following its paint trail, and place a bubble at the end so that enemies can't punish the end of the explosion. it sounds dumb but i've tried it and you can get the combo 1-2 times a game if you coordinate it. gives massive value
bubbler would be helped so much if only a main weapon could actually damage the weak point on the bottom or top. Let's say you use wail, well that's dealing damage to the actual shield and also to the projector inside so it basically melts it.
While I do think Reefslider shouldn't be as vulnerable as it is right now I think it would just be annoying to play against invincibility and have the rider be unsplattable for a couple frames. Maybe you could splat the rider to cancel it, but then again Splashdown was like that and was just the death button because of it.
Make bubbler throwable and smaller (edit, completely forgot the beacon of bubbler and i dobt know how to solve stupid jumps so lets just remove the beacon part) Make it so you can fire vacuum early but scale damage and size with the amount of paint consumed And a fun thing for slider, Make it so you can jump with the slider (not superjump) to give it a fun mixup or suprise tool
making bubble throwable would completely change the special to the point where you might as well just be replacing it with a new special. the way positioning is required for it is such an integral part of its design that it could really mess with the game to change
Yeeting an Ultra Stamp with Object Shredder at Crabs, Booyahs and Inkjets (OS doesn't matter for Jet though) is an effective way to deal with them In casual or soloq.
See section on zipcaster: Zip will be c tier by the time it can get on squiffer so stop asking for it, at this rate it will only work on dualies and ironically brella weapons(if they worked)
As a rework for Reefslider there could be a feature where if you hold the jump button during the explosion, then the player would jump back to the initial position as a form of safety and mindgame.
missiles should genuinely be put back at its original splatoon 2 form. slow ass activation, and shoots the same small amount of missiles no matter how many players you're aiming at
My idea would be to make the special be able to block shots from the inside as well So if a player comes inside to try to kill you, you could go outside of the bubbler to trap that player and punish them And also the HP shouldn’t decrease over time, the bubbler should just break at the end but shouldn’t lose HP and its size
For fixing Big Bubbler, the main change I would make to it would be to make it a deployable Special that hovers over the one who uses it, making them into a moving shield for their team. Your team makes can still Super Jump to it, but get a speed boost in their Super Jump as if they had consumed a Tacticooler drink. The shield won't shrink over time, and instead, just have a fixed amount of time that it'll stay active and will only go down early if it's HP is depleted. And for Reefslider, the biggest change I would make is to make sure that the explosion can hit people sitting on walls. If they're behind a wall or barricade, make sure that the explosion hits all areas possible within the blast area depending on the angle it comes in at. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to know that a point blank explosion should take out somebody who's only slightly elevated or below you but it doesn't.
@@ezracook6658 not visual, gameplay design. It just ruins all the "get in to get value" concept and if they'd make it also somewhat tanky then that's just a straight up better ink vacuum. As a buff for Reefslider, I thought both giving it less endlag (like, one third) would be nice, but the main buff would be making the explosion stay around for longer, like a booyah bomb or tri-strike, though not at long as either of those specials. As for Inkvac... Idk man make the projectile faster and give less lag frames swapping for firing mode or something, the maps just slaughter this thing.
So basically you want reefsliders explosion exactly like splashdowns😂

Ink vac should have a stronger slowdown effect and increase enemy ink loss.
Chara and others said these but
Reefslider: jump off at anytime and leave it to explode
Vac: swap firing mode
Cooler finally working the way everyone thought it would during the pre-release gameplay is nice to see.

Something I think would be helpful (if not just a fun addition) for tristrike would be the ability to press ZR to burst fire all three strikes at once (with a bit of spread so they don't all hit the exact same spot but instead act as one large strike) . You would obviously lose a bit of displacement potential but it would allow you to punish opponents that are tightly grouped with one huge explosion as well as let you burn through your strikes more quickly if you get jumped possibly providing a chance to retreat or even win the engagement without giving it the ability to easily reposition and thus be harder to punish
if they make strikes swimmable we enter missiles meta 2.0. i've been saying this forever
they put neo splash in the game and permanently ruined zones comps LOL
you're onto something though, giving it a way to be near-identical to s1 inkstrike would be really interesting
@@twewymuncher ofc it won't have the same impact as missiles even if you had way more mobility lol. but if missiles it getting a sack of rocks thrown at you then tristrike is a wall
and rn i don't think the explosions last long _enough_ lmao, that's the most impactful way you could buff it imo
but let's say you're on hammerhead zones against four strike weapons slowly cycling their specials to clog the *one* way you have to contest the zone. by the time the twelfth goes off their headman with two pures of SCU has his next set ready
again this is a fault of the maps but like, if they don't get fixed? and tristrike becomes effective area denial but the special stays as disposable as it is on the painting weapons that have it? maybe a tiny bit degenerative
The top tiers are all just Salmon Run bosses. Flyfish, Horrorboros, Stinger, Big Shot, and Drizzler.
Dude the locating effect with the chumps, i think someone said that in chat and chara still standing by it is crazy, he always mentions it
I think Ink Vac should be like Super Chump, you place it down.
i think big bubbler's whole thing being a big version of the bubbbler is sorta what's holding it back. if it were a little smaller and didn't shrink with damage/time i think would be better
If it didn’t shrink with time, wouldn’t it be infinite? (I’m dumb and confused)
@Splatoob Pretty sure they're saying that the Bubble would still break once it runs out of HP/time, but the size would stay the same until then.

Not saying you're wrong, but I'm curious to hear your assessment on it.
Here are some of the buffs and nerfs I would give to the specials
triple inkstrike should be able to swim but also have a cooldown similar to missiles.
Stamp should either 1. Be invincible from the front. Or 2. Have it's duration nerf toned down a bit
Booyah Bomb should also have a cooldown like missles
Bubbler should Take less damage from most specials aside from stamp and reefslider.
Ink Vac should be able to release its shot early using the r button, and be able to hold more enemy ink
Reefslider is a pretty obvious buff, just give it more Invincibility frames and have the explosion destroy bombs.
Crab Tank just needs to do a bit less object damage and unable to do anything for 0.5 to 1 second.
Tenta missiles should only be able to target 3 people (I don't know if this nerf is too extreme).
Super Chump just needs to have a slightly bigger explosion radius.
From what I understood, it's like we have a new "rock paper scisors" meta in the sense that crab beats cooler, cooler beat jet and jet beats crab which I think is kinda cool in a way
You should do a tier list of all the weapons ranking them by how fun they are to play primarily in solo q
I just watched a video on that before this actually
you can't do this tierlist properly at all
that's an entirely arbitrary list
@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 Isn't that the whole point of a tierlist?
@@slurples149no? this list was made to inform people about a pro player's well educated opinions on the best in the game. it's something that not just anyone watching his videos could make, and something that applies to many more people than just him. a list on how fun a weapon is to play is something anyone could make, and applies to only the person making it.
Its slow but Stamp is slowly climbing to its peak back, glad to see it *sobs and wipes tears*
This doesn't mean it's a good sub, it's more because the really niche use cases of line marker compliment rapid pro very well.
as a bucket main and someone who pockets deco a fair bit, marker will be dogshit until it aims directly at your crosshair. there’s no reason for it to literally be a good distance away from where you’re aiming and it makes it feel so clunky to use
drapid pro and dslosher are basically the only one who can make use of it
I missed so many videos of his, i gotta catch up!
I'm glad you make tier lists like these it really helps decide what weapons to use!

triple inkstrike is amazing fun when you use it right
13:00 THE MARIOMELON CAMEO LETS GOOOOOOOO
For me to the 4 bottom tiear buffs
Ink vac: can cancel and shot earlier, and if you shot earlier you can charge and shot again
Bubbler: TRANSFORM INTO A INK IMPENETRABLE SHIELD so no special will work against it. If a enemy enter give mist effect
Reefslider: minor end lag
Chunks: more radius explosion, more compact radius display and early explosion
bubbler becomes overpowered
reef becomes top tier
@@jakcesleepingrn5739 about Bubble: no because the low HP and the weak point still remains. About the specials I wanted to say that no bombs, specials or shots can cross the barrier (as with the ink wall)
I love that inkvac buff, so it could also work similarly to how the inkzooka did in 1 in case you need it to
Ultra stamp above kraken and reefslider. *This was the future the wipers wanted*
I'm surprised to see Inkjet so high up. Given how slow both the movement AND its projectiles are, it's very telegraphed and both easy to dodge and easy to take out, so long as your weapon has a bit of range. Controlling it yourself is an absolute pain too
you just kinda die if you're target of somewhat good inkjet user
you run → death
you rush it → they dodge and you die
you use your special → most of the time die
you jump out → lottery for direct hit
Personally, I have a soft spot for reefslider. In the very first game I played with it in the test fire, on I believe either mahi or mincemeat, I got a triple with it
My opinion of how to buff bubble:
- revert to previous size
- increase damage resistance and other interactions to some specials. For example, in my opinion:
- 2 tri-strikes should reduce the bubble from full health to 1 second left, (more realistically in almost every situation it will fully kill the bubble because it takes a second or more to see the bubble show up, pop the special, throw, and have them detonate). They should not hit a player standing in the bubble while it is still up
- wavebreaker should either damage the shield or go through it, not both
- it should survive rain passing over it with about a third hp left
- other similar stuff for some other specials, but some/many should remain counters like booyah, slider, others
After leaving it like that for 1 update cycle:
- tweak special damage/interaction back a bit if necessary
- increase hp (but not duration) slightly
Big bubble could be saved with damage cap, which means that there is a limit on how much damage you can deal to it per second
I want to put here that if vdapples had a different utility sub/bomb then they could see more use and there would be two viable cooler weapons. unfortunately wiper deco also has beakon and uses more flank routes and is overall a more useful weapon that vdapples
Here’s to hoping clear dapples will get an actual sub (assuming we get 3rd kits)

From being in the same tier last time prochara did a special ranking inkjet is now the best and inkvac is the worst
Oh how things have changed
Honey wake up, ProChara uploaded his new tier list video.
Hey remember bubbler from splatoon 1
Instant activation panic button shield with almost no counterplay
Yeah if you'll remove startup frames then you kinda recreated bubbler from splatoon 1
@@jakcesleepingrn5739yea but this one is completely stationary and things can enter the bubble and it’s still destroyable
Not sure if it was taken into account here. but i do think there should be a convo here about SPU as well. like if it actually helps the special be better or not and if running SPU beings a special up a tier or not
I think the list assumes you are running average gear for your weapon. Like 2 subs of spu for zap 85 and none for v splash and so on.

Happy Tier List Week!
Right when I begin my meal! Today’s gonna be a good day!
I just wish the devs would do ink vac some justice next update and give it the ability to eat infinite ink during the duration instead of the limit so I can still use it when there's so much going on around me😢
That’s not a good change
@@osiohanu8166 imo I meant
If you guys don't know how bad it is for Vac right now:
- Every Vac kit has received a second kit, all of which are actually good kits with no reason to use the vac kit by comparison (better subs especially)
- Vac has not been on a second kit so far (despite over half the weapons having a second kit)
- X Rank usage stats recorded as of recent show that no Ink Vac kit has escaped the bottom 15 for usage (and the least used is VRapid Pro btw, a vac weapon)
- Got the smallest buff out of the big 5 buffs in 3.1 (for Reefslider, Cooler, Stamp, Inkjet and Vac), despite being in an arguably worse state than any of those 4 were
Please buff this thing, idk how just please give it something 😭
ProCharas teir lists are good cause he isn't biased.
I like how vac started off half decent then people started using splatanas and stamp and it just fell off
It’s kind of sad to me that the only times things like reef slider are talked about positively in any way are when someone big uses it well.
That's honestly how Tenta Missiles should have been in the first place.
uhh it will still kinda detect everyone

Are there any specials from splatoon 1 and/or 2 that you think could get ported in splatoon 3, and still be good for the game, or are there any specials you think would need reworks to get in?
I love super chump but it does need a few buffs:
1) Explosion should be reduced from 4 seconds to 2.5 seconds
2) Their HP should increase by 40%-50% to make them harder to pop and wave breaker doesn’t destroy them all in one shot
3) Increase the explosion radius by 20%
Vac even has extra salt in the wound where all but one kit has a utility/ bad sub that the main can't hard carry in place of a bomb, which even bubble avoids with a few of its kits having actual bombs/ workable synergy as a whole
Not to mention EVERY vac weapon has an alt kit that hard outclasses the vac kit.
Vac doesn't have the range for it's trick to really support. Bubbler needs either more resistance or more teeth. I saw one comment suggest a toxic mist effect inside and I like that.

Now come to think of it xenoblade songs are just good in general
I feel the 1.5 seconds off stamp is just to prevent quads kills from happening too often
I use kraken to protect the rainmaker carrier or make space. Idk if that's what they made it for, but that's what I mostly use it for
I find it funny how chat asks questions like "why is bubble so low" or "Reefslider is higher than bubble?" as you are explaining what makes bubble bad/what makes reefslider not as bad as people think lol
I like these videos because they’re nice to listen to
the special design is so much better than previous games now, im just disappointed they're not as useful
Oh how poorly this aged zooka top tier and cooler is cooler
vac would be nice if it damaged a player that touches you so you can't have a roller just walk up to you and squish you or a splatana slash you up close. that and maybe suck ink off the ground as well but I'm not sure how that will interact with the points and scoring during turf war
I honestly feel like with the reefslider if you can drop roll after the explosion with the main ability drop roll. Then it can go up the tier list. It would be more gear dependent but honestly with how bad it is at dying, I am willing to take that.
Video 154 of commenting on Chara videos till brella gets fixed [properly]
I would love if slider could be steered mid roll, like the lines on the ground showing the straight path for it but if you are player could actually deviate from that a little bit it would make it harder to predict
I find it really cool that big bubbler is d, and reefslider is c, but if you combine them you get S+ tier, bc if someone uses big bubbler to protec the reefslider user than its just a free ticket into enemy turf

How the tables have turned with these specials
While I do think Reefslider shouldn't be as vulnerable as it is right now I think it would just be annoying to play against invincibility and have the rider be unsplattable for a couple frames.
Maybe you could splat the rider to cancel it, but then again Splashdown was like that and was just the death button because of it.
Make bubbler throwable and smaller (edit, completely forgot the beacon of bubbler and i dobt know how to solve stupid jumps so lets just remove the beacon part)
Make it so you can fire vacuum early but scale damage and size with the amount of paint consumed
And a fun thing for slider, Make it so you can jump with the slider (not superjump) to give it a fun mixup or suprise tool
making bubble throwable would completely change the special to the point where you might as well just be replacing it with a new special. the way positioning is required for it is such an integral part of its design that it could really mess with the game to change
It would indeed change it completely, but I think it would make the special more fun and technical.

Chara maybe one day you can make a tier list video about all the specias across the series. I feel like it would be pretty cool tbb
I agree!
inkjet is the best special in the game right now, better than missiles, and inkstorm is still the most slept on special in the game
missiles should genuinely be put back at its original splatoon 2 form. slow ass activation, and shoots the same small amount of missiles no matter how many players you're aiming at
Easy and fair missile nerf: can only fire when there are 3 or more players in the scouter and reduce the damage that missiles do
Cooler may not be that good but it’s on two of my favorite weapons, trishlosh and dynamo, so i end up using it all the time anyways
I can’t think of many buffs for big bubbler but one I did think of s giving it the same effect as a toxic mist when an enemy is inside it
My idea would be to make the special be able to block shots from the inside as well
So if a player comes inside to try to kill you, you could go outside of the bubbler to trap that player and punish them
And also the HP shouldn’t decrease over time, the bubbler should just break at the end but shouldn’t lose HP and its size
