Can it be made with reg 4 ply Yarn ? . I don’t like to crochet with bulky wright yaarns.
It would work up pretty small. Id say sized for a five year old.
I make the original chain plenty long and then it shrinks up by the end. Does that mean I'm doing the stitches too tight?
Mostly it means you might have a stretchy yarn. Perhaps use one size larger hook? I used wool and it had no stretch so it might look different. Let me know how it works out with the larger hook and what kind of yarn are you using?
@@MelodyCrochet i was using acrylic yarn. I ended up making the foundation chain a bit longer and did my best to make looser stitches. My instinct is to make each stitch tight like a knot 😂. Also I think I ended up using an I hook.
How many stitches for a child’s head (10 yr old)?
If they are an average sized 10 year old this should be fine. Fits my 11 year old well. :)
😂 79 rows came half of my head I've do something to complete this headband.

But i did some changes and turned it to a new design.
It can to ear to ear at first with star stitches.
I added 3 rows of double crochet from 2 sides
And stitch it together.
This part will be at my back neck so my skin wont hurt because of hardness.
😅 Sorry i changed your pattern but it turned out to a cute two way headband
