i think the overlord system just kind of developed naturally and the native elites let it go on because it's more convenient to have the sinners fighting amongst themselves rather than trying to take them down. alastor is probably unique in that he seems to be focused on the bigger picture rather than just trying to cling onto fickle power/territory.

@renatoramos8834 it's more in the overlord meeting of not just him but the rest want to survive against the angels and gain a possible upper hand to deal with the goetia as they are a threat to them. Plus as it's stated they are trapped in the pride ring means they want out to the other levels. Possibly why alastor risks getting close to Charlie so that he can consume her flesh or lucifers to gain the access to go possibly almost anywhere as he won't be restricted to the pride ring as they are a mix of angel and demon

Not to be rude but you seem new to not have followed her old comics zoophobia and the other works she had done that has darker implications. It can be that she might get some restrictions of how far she can go in the R rated content. Plus already there is cannibalism in helluva boss and right on the 2nd episode of hazbin hotel had the demonic sinners eating a dead corpse in front of Charlie as she freaks out going "why?!"
All the Overlords get to do whatever they want and they basically own the pride ring only bounded to one rule, Lucifer, Lillith and Ars Goetia will always be number 1 and must respect them at all and times.

Meaning, aslong as you pledge fealty/as long as you don't try to topple the Goetias or the Morningstars, you can do whatever.
Basically the overlords are like feudal lords, the ars goetia is the noble family then Lucifer and his daughter is the Royal Bloodline. overlords are just peasants who climbed their way to get power and influence.
So if the Pride Ring is divided into nine circles, does that mean that Pentagram City is in the Limbo Circle and Imp City is in the Lust Circle? That would explain Andrealphus living in the Ninth Circle of Treachery

Isn't Limbo a place where people don't necessarily suffer, but they are just in a constant state of grief from the lack of the presence of God? For unbaptized babies and pagans that never knew any "better"?

I think the reason why Hell wants more sinners (human souls) it's because they rather have them and get exterminated than have Heaven have the human souls, as simple as that. Kinda like a petty child wanting to eat all the cake and get a stomachache rather than share the cake with other kids.

Im a realist so i can’t exactly say but the most neutral answer are the goetia because of numbers and equal if not more firepower.
I have a personal theory for why the Sinners are above the Hellborn (at least in Pride): At some point in Hell's history Sinners were tortured by the Hellborn like how it used to be in actual mythology. But later the immortal, superpowered Sinners were overpowered by the mortal Hellborn. Soon the Sinners conquered Pride and the Overlords who embody newer technologies as time progresses brought their technology to Hell which is why Hell acts much like modern Earth.
When you look at "modern Earth" as the U.S. taken to its logical conclusion.

I always thought that the overlords were their own version of the sins but restricted to the pride ring. So Alastor would be pride and Valentino would be lust and so on. The Goetia were just there to make sure they were doing their job and making sure they don't get too powerful.

Well I kinda want to know more about striker, because in the Last episode we saw him, he seems to have deep hatred towards royals. We heard it in his speech like how he said not every ring has a huge mansion or how stolas never had everything taken away from him, and when stolas tried to defend himself striker slapped him saying that he doesn’t get to talk over him and that he hates how the elites take over and down to the lower species of hell. It makes me wonder what happened? Because that amount of hatred doesn’t happen overnight, it develops over time. And despite all of that he’s willing to work for royals given that they are the only ones able to purchase holy weapons. But striker is an interesting character and has a very mysterious background that make me want to know what happened to him.
The overlords are outranked by the ars goetia so obviously the ars goetia 😅

I want to see more of the Goetia’s use their monster forms like Stolas did in the DORKS ep. I am also confused as to who of the goetia has this form and who doesn’t. I think for example is Stella had one we would have seen her use it against Stolas by now
In terms of power for the Ars Goetia, it hasn't yet been clarified if Stolas and Paimon are the rule or exceptions. They could also both be particularly powerful due to their knowledge and magic, but be physically unremarkable. The power of the Ars Goetia could be more based in influence and knowledge rather than pure force. The Overlords on the other hand, only have that title because of their individual power, and their reach only extends because of their innate abilities. We have not yet seen an Overlord that possesses unique artifacts or knowledge that is exclusive to them. And we have not seen a powerful Ars Goetia without knowledge/magic.
Well...we know Stolas doesn't need the book to open his portals, at the very least. He doesn't need the book, at least for the magic he's got memorized. The book is more for jogging his memory than gifting him power.

It's a crime how underrated this show is. This is the standard for character development and world building in animation.
compared to literal movies world development i find the helluva boss world to be very developed

If you want my opinion there are three types of demons:
1-Hellborns which are mortal and can reproduce.
2-The sinners who are former humans dead and damned for their sin. They are immortal and sterile.
3-And finally the fallen, former angels who betrayed God and are condemned to live in hell. They are the ones who command hell. They are immortal and can reproduce.

It makes sense that demons like Stolas are stronger than overlords like Alastor, but at the same time that feels weird.
I am happy, the minitheory I have been commenting on under multiple videos has been mentioned. Said minitheory being that the Ars Goetia are just the native demons to Pride because nobility are inherently prideful beings. I personally don't think the Princes of each ring being Ars Goetia counts particularly against the theory. They very easily could have been granted the titles by virtue of their powers. I could also just modify the minitheory here to specify the bird demons like Stolas and Stella as the natives to Pride.
I can see the Overlords and the Goetias as a "bourgeois and nobles" kind of deal. The Overlods being the bourgeois cause their power comes from self determination and hard working, while the Goetias being born into all of those aspects.
Nobles are higher in the general hierarchy, but bourgeoise have more experience and have good control over the masses, where at one point the bourgeoise became more powerful. Could be the same in this show. With most new Goetias (like Stolas, Octavia and such) being laying back at their responsabilities (unlike old Goetias, like Paimon, who does seem to be serious about it), while the Overlords are growing in power, to the point to be one day more powerful and take the upper hand, something that knowing Overlords like Alastor could pretty much happen anytime

The theory about making the most powerful sinners sound cool. But they would also need to have the right kind of people. They need someone like a general, not some selfish manic person. While some kind of mercenary types would be beneficial, it would also be a big problem if someone too smart, or maybe even too powerful for them, were created
I think it would make sense if the (bird-like) Ars Goeita are from pride. Because ... we see the early artwork of Lucifer (who rules pride) loves ducks (a bird). So maybe Lucifer originally created the (bird-like) Ars Goeita?

This leads to new question: What stopped Heaven from doing what Marley did in Attack on Titan? You know, try to take control of the situation and to maintain the status quo with Heaven being the one on the top by dispatching some brainwashed child soldiers into attacking Hell and try to steal some important items such as Stolas' Grimiore.

I think there were natvie species in the pride ring thousands of years ago. 2 of them. The kitsunes, and hellbees. The kitsune, were extremely powerful with both magic, and weaponry. However the exterminations left thier empire into decline. So they had no choice but to leave hell and heaven into a pocket demention to protect themselves. But they left behind ruins and hidden powerful relics.
Its intresting that the Overlords and Ars Goetia dont really have any kind of conflict. But maybe the reason is more, that the Ars Goetia try to get or hold control over the human world and dont see any use in a conflict with the "caught" overlords, because they cant leave the pride. Or maybe these two factions dont get in a fight, beacuse both of them can only get hurt or killed with holy weapons and are immortal.

I don’t think Stolas is stronger than Alastor. I used to, but I don’t see the person who lost to an imp doing as well against Adam as Alastor did. I believe Stolas is above overlords, but Alastor I think is an exception because of his deal with Lilith. That probably pushes him close to the Sins if not competing with them

What if Lucifer isn't really the sin of pride? He is an angel, even in Hell. A highly ranked one as well, despite his estrangement. Paimon could be the true sin of pride, with his brood, the Ars Goetia being the native species of the Pride Ring. The Ars Goetia is known for having frequent contact with humanity, and thus being able to coexist with them in the Pride Ring. Lucifer in this situation is more like an occupying force serving to keep the entirety of Hell from straying outside except for under certain conditions. Overlords would be human souls that had dealings with the Goetia or other similar demons either before or after they died, gaining power in Hell the process. Lesser hellborn are allowed to inhabit the pride ring, even regularly interacting with its denizens, as they are considered to be weaker than the souls that inhabit the place, and so would only have a limited impact on it.
A theory I have on the 9 ring os the pride ring is that 6 of them imitate the other levels of hell, either for migrant demons or as a marketing/torture(a place that could be better but you sinners can't go to).

I personally think though there is a set hierarchy, it's also not fully set in stone, aside potentially lucifer on top, for example, we see that stolas was successfully ambushed my an imp (albeit, striker is a successful/powerful/highly skilled imp), even if he hadn't fully taken the situation seriously, it shows the possibility of a lower class demon taking on an upper class demon, even if the odds are strongly against them, though there could be a strength in numbers factor, while the ars goetia are overall much stronger than any individual overlord, if, say for example, 3 overlords were to team up and attack simultaneously (for example, the 3 V's), it may very well result in the death of one of the ars goetia, hence the need for precautionary heirs such as via, not to mention, there would be a practical side for such an attack as the overlords may potentially get their hands on some of the spell tomes/books or even blood of the goetia which could increase their power further than just soul deals (though this part is purely speculatory, and it is likely the goetia would team up to get the artifacts back), I kinda see the power ranking as a "One on one, both sides prepared, there's no chance" but there would be exceptions for ambushes/particularly powerful overlords against particularly weaker goetia/multiple overlords planning to take one down, however, I'm not honestly sure as to if it could go higher up the chain, we've established both overlords/sinners and goetia can die to holy weapons (which a good chunk of overlords almost certainly have access to), though, as of the sins, I highly doubt holy weapons could kill them given their existence since hells beginning, so I think they'd likely need to be smited by higher angels (hence lucifer can rule over them) to be fully killed

my theory is very complicated with this one sinners is born on based on their own life to hit the rink Overlord they keep getting more power but no matter what no matter how powerful they get they just want to pass their own territory like moths to a flame they keep on coming that's why the other half have magic and Power known as The Ars Goetia they can shapeshift and walk among the humans and do what they want based on the rink in the ring but the overlords just want to work for themselves
but the sinner is sometimes twist their self to join the overlords or not in a way to live their own life or kills the People by hiring i.m.p they do try to escape the extermination by going to the Rings but that's just my theory okay but the question is do that change them.🤔

My personal hypothesis is that the "Seven Deadly Sins" are all fallen angels and the Goetia are hybrids between them and Hell's natives.
Which is why the Goetia can only be killed by angelic weapons.
And why the Sins can get away with having "relations" with lesser demons while the Goetia can't, they don't want to dilute the bloodline too far.
It could also be that the Ars Goetia (like some old royal families) would opt for incest for that reason.
Just don't underestimate Alastor , he is an anomaly in the hell confirm by maggy who say that he was appear from nowhere and start to rule the over overlord and also killing by an unkown metode some centuary overlord. Unlike stolas, Alastor is showing be able to teleport instantly beind peapole and bending reality with some type of rune or even summoning spirit and shadow thing form help him. I think he is an anomaly and probably one of the most powerfull being in hell.
I'd say alastor is stronger than the ars goetia and asmodeus because of how effortlessly alastor summons a portal with tentacles coming out of it which destroyed a blimp. The most stolas ever did was look all scary in front of humans and possessing their bodies. Alastor's feat in the pilot seems to contradict vivzie as stolas even got kidnapped by a cowboy imp. The ars goetia or only stolas relies on their grimoires while alastor relies on his inate power and voodoo magic

That’s a more impressive feat, for the simple fact it’s not possible to go to the humans realm without Stolas grimoire or asmodean crystals. And Striker had holy weapons which are the only things that can fatally harm or kill demon royalty. Stolas and the ars goetia are much more powerful than Alastor. Paimon would probably dog walk Alastor in a fight.

I.e. the Sins being fallen angels from the first choir (Seraphim, Cherubim, Ophanim), with the Goetia being either originally from the second choir (Dominions, Virtues, Powers) or the lowest orders (Principalities, Archangels, Angels).
I'm pretty sure we know Lucifer is a fallen Seraphim, and my guess is that the other Sins are Cherubim or Ophanim. (Alternatively, it might makes sense for them to be Virtues, contrasting their present status as Sins).
Maybe the reason that arch goetha is more powerful then overlords is because they can tecnically do important tasks for hell and human world too while overlords are basicly stay just in hell, pride ring spesificly?

In my opinion Ars Goetia is generally above Overlords, with some exceptions like Alastor (I believe Alastor would be on the lower end of Ars Goetia, due how to Alastor was able to kill multiple Overlords, which leads me to believe he’s on a higher tier of strength (in his current form)
I thought hell has 9 rings in total 🤔 each ring representing different sin, the lower you get the havier the sin.. and i was thinking that it makes no sense that sinners could be killed, like extinquished completly, in "hazbin hotel" because when sir Pentious was killed by Adam he went to heaven so where do the other souls go when they get killed by the angels? so i was thinking that maybe the hell in "hazbin hotel" isn't hell at all, but more like a purgatory where souls still have a chance at redemption so after they get killed for the second time they go to the actual hell, represented in "helluva boss" and some lucky bastards (like sir Pentious) to heaven..

Stolas was nearly killed and scared of Striker with some Angel weapons. Meanwhile in Hazbin Overlords like Alastor gave Adam a tough time before losing, and other Overlords killed Exterminator Angels. So no, Stolas is not stronger. Thats proven now.

I personally say the likely answer for why hell wants more souls, beyond just spite and so heaven can't have them, is the energy of those destroyed souls during a purge has to go somewhere. Thus the answer would be the left over energy from the destroyed soul of a sinner gets absorbed into Hell itself or is open for collection by the demons and fallen angels.

I mean. You got the Pride ring. We got the 5 overlords who plan to destroy hell and Overthrow Lucifer. We got the 3 Vs though we actually dont see them except for Valentino after the Events of Hazbin Hotel. Angel Dust is working for the Hotel. Despite Hell being a circus the 5 overlords literally are trying to kill the 7 princes and destroy the rings. And the only way to stop them is a team of an fallen angem hybrid imp, a succubus, a shark imp hybrid, a succubus imp hybrid with a mastery of magic and an imp. Soooooo are we in good hands....hard to tell. But we know for sure that not everyone from helluva boss and Hazbin Hotel will be alive. In Harbingers most of the main characters are alive. Alastor is alive until Season 5. How will that play out we dont know. Though sinners are inmortal theres ways to make them mortal through the use of Holy magic and genetic manipulation. Which is the ultimate evil of the 5 overlords plan to destroy Alastor and take his powers. But as we established Lucifer had a plan. Its called the Harbinger project. This with all of the 7 princes decided that despite the extermination days the over flooding is starting to get really out of hand. Sinners who want to be redeemed go to the Happy Hotel while those who dont want to or cant be redeemed are killed by the Harbingers. There is a final conflict but at the same time. Lucifer has no choice but to send the Harbingers to take out the overlords and the sinners who cause havoc to a point where the rings are in immense danger. But where's the contingency for the king of hell. Well....youll have to find out when the comic is released.
Here's a thought: they don't call about creating overlords...they care about sinners dieing. Why limit sinners to the uppermost ring, when there clearly more room in the other rings? CONCENTRATED FERTALIZER!
The more sinners they get, the more that can die, the more evil that pools, the more monstrouse creatures that form in time. As a reeeeeeeeal stretch, the death of sinners might even let them become more powerful.
My personal thoughts on the contradiction of wanting more people in hell despite needing to cull them isnt that deep. Its pettiness. Lucifer thinking "I dont care about these humans, I just don't want heaven to have them". Its why he doesnt care if they get culled, he never cared about them to begin with, it was about each soul being a middle finger to Heaven
