This is my first first ever RUclips comment. I've been a fan of yours since your HRG days. 74 year old here, and the first family car I can remember was our '55 Buick Special station wagon. I remember my mom taking my brother and I somewhere and suddenly pull over, stop and turn around in her seat and yell at us, "if you two don't stop fooling around I'm going to murder you." We climbed all the way to the back and just laughed. Good times. I"m excited to follow this project.

@@orygunchainsawmassacre6761100% agree. Derek finds a car in a field and an event planned. Dave gets to lead suspension build (bagged), Tony and Lucky take on drivetrain (something outrageous). Derek does interior/exterior cleanup/mods. They help in each other's specialties and banter the whole time...sometimes stepping out of their happy place to try something new. Learn a little, build alot and then go to the event to show off their finished car. This is like a 8 part hot rod junkyard build series if I've ever seen one.

You're warming my heart here, my first car was a 54 Buick century special wagon my dad used to tow his Corvette drag car to Pomona, Irwindale Fontana and even Riverside back in early sixties. By the time I got my hands-on it, the old 330 ish Nail head, whatever was well-worn. So I found a Barely worn 425/360horse Nail head with 3 speed automatic from a wrecked 66 Riviera. I was 13 when I started the project and I drove that thing into the ground till I was 17 and bought my first Real car, a 65 Malibu super sport with a 327 and a 4 speed muncie. By the time I was done with the Chevelle I was running low 12 to high 11's at Iwindale And OCIR. Thanks for sending me on the walk down memory lane. Keep up the good work I've been a long time fand I'll keep watching you as long as you're on the air. Kevin Taylor, Southern Oregon.

Another cool project. I was a Buick dealer line tech for many years. The first GM V8 engines had one common vulnerability. At around 60,000 mi. onward, the timing chain would stretch & "jump time". The problem became more common when GM went to a "nylon" covered cam sprocket(noise reduction) that just wore smooth. I bought countless classic 60's Chevy's etc. from parked for years (like yours) with "blown engine" lol, that just needed a new timing set, i usually got running again in a day or so & flipped.

Tony I saved this car on my marketplace list I saw it listed as “pending” never did I think in a million years it would be Stay Tuned that would save it! So awesome glad it wound up in very capable hands! Can’t wait to see this super cool Buick back on the road

46:15 The exact frame, where the fireball comes out of the carb, would make a great motif for a shirt or something. Black and white shadings, the fireball lighting up the faces. The fender of the Buick poking out front and center. I can see it in my mind, I just can't draw to save my life!
    "It's alive!"

Is the engine a small block 400? Or is it a 383 stroker? I noticed the flywheel was weighted is why I asked. Just curious. The car is cool!

Tony, first of all, thanks for doing these videos. It's great!
I have done that drive across the George Washington, through Manhattan, and Queens, and into Long Island. Then drove back, with an old worktruck squarebody with a toolbed, bad brakes, and no idle. Fun times! Love those 55's.

Of all the automotive channels I watch, your shop is the coolest, the wartime province gives it the cool factor for sure, it needs an old monarch lathe, and a Cincinnati mill !

I don't know much about anything older than 65 so its cool to learn about this Buick. Its a great looking car and I'm excited for this project. The last video got my excited about supercharging something, I bought an m90 supercharger for $50 and I am going to adapt it onto my 88 4 runner. maybe it will actually do a burnout when I'm done!

Great video, Tony! Always fun to resurrect something, isn't it? FYI - looks like it has the small valve "Powerpack" heads base on the triangle on the end of the heads. Those aren't great for making power. Anyway, excited to see this back on the road! Scott/Bulletproof Garage

Yeah it would be cooler with nailhead or 455 power, but saving that beauty from the crusher or a life of slowly returning to the earth is what really matters. Well done. I cant wait to see all that chrome and stainless shine again.
