I play Battleships , some dds and subs and CVs . I just play, I don’t hate anything.
good, hating something or someone takes time and energy and it is usually not worth the time or effort.
@haakonsteinsvaag just wish the subs were more realistic and not constrained by limited underwater time. War Thunder you could stay submerged the entire battle and not run out of battery.

@@mattt233 It's a balance thing. The devs are having a hard time balancing sub vs surface warfare. It's not fun to be killed by something you can't fight back. And at the end of the day, world of warships is an arcade game and not a sim game like warthunder.
Him getting a lucky Detonation on that BB made a huge difference
Well done to the sub captain although for me he pinged way too often and when he didn't need to (after getting the two pings). Still read the situation and brought it home. Also it showed the disadvantage of auto CV ASW. Manual control would have allowed the CV to drop a depth charge around him every 50m seconds, even if he wasn't spotted whereas the auto asw will only drop when it sees some indication of the sub. Got to say the Trento was obviously looking to win the Game of Throws award. All he had to do was stay behind the island and use his sonar to detect the sub and drop his asw. Any again well done.

Carrier aircraft must directly hit a sub to deal damage unlike surface ships.

god.... watching him miss nearly all of his pings on the sub... like does he not know he's not up against a 4501. every sub at operating and max depth is slow as balls but this guy is leading his ping as if they were 10 kms away.
I thought this was another dev blog by WG about buffing subs, luckily it isn't.
I'm torn on the subs. Yes they have a place in Naval battles. But their abilities on some subs is superhuman. I have had submerged subs travel as fast as 20 plus knots and ghost every means of detection and destruction. No way a sub should take ten charge hits,2 fires and a flooding and still somehow survive and torp you. Yet we see it every other match.
One AP shell through the hull would ensure it couldn't dive in real life.
Realism is a two way street. It will hurt your chances just as it helps you.

As a newer player I find the hate on subs and CVs pretty amusing.
They’ve always just been part of the game Ive played.
If a sub is out there you can’t just zone out lobbing shells while sailing in a straight line and then get angry that you just got torped. That’s on you.
IMO subs are tactically challenging and fun to play. They are like a DD mostly, but much less forgiving.
The new 3km torp damage nerf rule is a joke and makes sub vs sub combat into a pillow fight. 😂
Better if they just made the torp dud chance higher the closer in you are rather than reduce damage so drastically.
CVs are pretty much like playing a totally different game. Not for me, but they’re a diversion to get some naval battle points.
The Dutch cruisers with airstrike are more fun to me than any CV.

I honestly have no problem with Subs in the game, they add an interesting Fear element to the game and it punishes ships that break away from their team, Countering a Sub with allies is quite easy so it always feels fair.
CV's dont feel fair at all, even if your entire team is ontop of each other all the CV's planes arnt getting shot down so you're continuously being Smashed by Bombs or Zig Zagging all over the place dodging Torps all the while being able to do nothing apart from put up with it since you cant attack the CV thats on the other side of the Map hiding behind an Island.
I don't think submarines have ruined the game, but I think players that hate on them should let it go. The subs are here to stay and they're not going anywhere anytime soon.
If I don't use them in the game I won't know how to combat them.

I can't run a sub that well. And like some, I'd rather fight subs over taking on DD's.
Still some alterations I'd love to see on sub. Loss of active ping, better passive aim etc etc.

I am a DD main. Though I play all ships ⚓ just not often in subs or CVs. I have a healthy respect for long range Sub Snipers. But this morning I was playing a CV because my Clan Mate needed to kill planes for Dock Yard needs. So for the hell of it I Air dropped bombs on a healthy sub and actually got a detonation. I hooted like a boy at Christmas. 🎄 LoL. Any way, I agree, Torpedo range on subs v subs shouldn't matter. Also a over pen on a sub should be an automatic flood on subs. And finally. Sub captain skills should be closer to that of DDs, without all the if this then that restrictions. Also sub concealment is crazy high for realistic stealth. If most DDs are 6km, then subs should be 4 before concealment expert.

About the ONLY THING I suck at with subs is "dodging" Depth Charge planes. Although I question weather that's a "skill issue" and more of a "you can't do shit vs this" Issue. I do LIKE the way the Consumables work now and that New Ping direction indicter is interesting. THE US Subs have way more torpedo tubes, you can even "spin to win" by just sailing in a circle at full rudder and rotating though your BOW and STERN torpedoes, But the German Subs have way better "sensors".
Like... everyone I come up against INSTANTLY cancels the the Ping which you would think would make them easy to kill, BUT NO. Plus i prefer unguided torps anyway, makes me feel like im actually playing a Submarine game rather then Firing underwater missiles.
Dodging DC planes is easy when you just don't ping in the first place and use unguided (or in the case of Germany, guided but not using the guidance) torps

@meneldal oh true, i have no idea what the gun range vs asw range is, so I'm probably worng if the gun range is more
@@TwigsGames oh right... i forgot about those. Still the max gun range is 4kms or something like that. And i think the minimum range of ASW is like 2 or 3 kms.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds. "He uses his speed to outrun the asw AIRCRAFT!" In what reality does a sub have the speed to outrun aircraft, even in an arcade game? Utterly absurd game now.
All this vid dose it prove they need a much harder nerf or completely removed to their own game option. Not kept in main game mode.
This tells me why the I-56 is considered a weak sub and it's because the range of the homing torps is 6km with a detection on the surface of 7.1km, while the Salmon has 6km detection and homing range of 11km. Would you say if homing was 1km less than detection things would be more balanced?

prefer fighting a sub than a dd i cant see or catch thats just doing dd things and kiting and dropping torps... and ppl call sub players cowards.. at least with a sub you can drop ASW's. hate away as a fairly new player to the game thats just how i see it imo.
Destroyers can't go under water when there is radar, or a cv, or a sub spotting them, or another dd spotting them so please go ahead and explain how destroyer players are cowards and sub players are fine.
@@TheL0vecake So depending on the DD they can just smoke out of the way or hide behind an island and they are essentially invincible while the sub can dive but if in range most of the other ships can drop ASW anywhere on them so there's no cover for them, just think every enemy is a CV with limited range or dutch cruiser with almost 99% chance of fire and flooding even for grazing hits.

Hate. They dont belong in this game. Everytime a sub gets close, you just cant do anything. Their torps reach further than your weapons to harm them. They are frustrating to play against. Boring too.

A stupid cruiser player at start, a battleship that stopped and doesn't understand sub ping, another battleship stopped trying to go backwards, cruiser that doesn't know how to use ASW... the guy pings way too much anyway ... stopped watching after that. Sub are terrible now, majority are sunk in the first few minutes.
