It's always exciting when our seeds germinate and we see the little bits of green popping up. The Erigeron reminded me of my childhood in Cornwall as it grew in the wall crevices of the local church.

Small note: when writing species names the genus is in upper case, and species name in lower case. (Veronica spicata). If there is a upper case word after the genus name it means it's a named variety (Veronicastrum Alba).

larlyHi Anette - thank you for the great recommendations! I'm particularly hooked by the St. Bernhard's lily. We live south of Vienna (on the foot of the alps) and I think I have seen it here in the wild meadows last summer. So it should be great for our garden soil as well! Many greetings! Katharina

Hi Annette. fabulous that you are giving an update on your previous sowings. I sowed Lisianthus for the first time ever and didn't know what to expect. Out of 10 seeds, sown on 19th Jan, I have just 2 seedlings germinated, (31st Jan). I do hope some more come through. I bought the seeds from Nicky' seed. You are not kidding that they are tiny. I am hoping that the empty cells will produce some germination, given time. I have lots of geraniums, lupins and coleus that have germinated plus a multitude of vegetables and fruit, from peppers and aubergines to kale and onions.Don't you just love this time of year. So exciting seeing the seeds germinate and nurturing the new life. I love the look of the St Bernard's lily. Are they easy to germinate/grow? I think they would be perfect for a vacant spot in my white border. Thank you for a really interesting and informative video. Happy gardening 😃 x

Thanks Be. Yes, they may take longer to germinate - I'm hanging on to my empty cells in the hope that they pop up - I literally noticed a new one as I filmed this so I think they may stagger their germination to torture us! I'm sowing so many seeds but it's one of mu favourite things to do. I just love watching the little plants grow. 💚

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that - be patient - I've had some of the Choc Penstemons germinate over the last day or 2 so I guess they're all going to germinate at different rates! It's so tempting to check them every hour 🤣
