    Awesome range!!! I just picked up an early 90's W German p220 .45 acp . I love it ! It came with two original 7rd mags and an extended mag but the extended mag has a failure to feed issue

      If the extended mag is not SIG factory it's probably garbage. Even factory 10 rounders can be iffy in my experience. That's the golden age of the P220, congrats!

    Awesome grip review video. Not enough vids out there on Sig Sauer grips. Thanks for the great info.

    I specifically got the p220 because of the E2 thin grips, but the recoil is somewhat sharply

    That's a beautiful grip man. I'm VERY tempted to get a set for my P226 and my P220 when I get them.

    A excellent video on the Sig P220 the grips that come with any gun are no good its good to replace them 💯👍

    I just traded a Glock 43 for an 86 west German sig p220 and got it from the original owner with original case and 28rds of pd rounds and one zipper 7rd original mag. Very good overall condition with a little holster wear towards the tip of the slide but faint. I havnt got to shoot it yet but will very soon...he put hogue rubber grips on it though I'm wanting something wooden but thinner as I don't have huge hands. I need something less girth from "left to right”/width so I can hit the mag release without moving my hand in an unstable position. Any tips? Great looking p220 btw. Thanks

    Hi bro. Jost wondering if you were able to use the original grip screws, or did you have to order a set of screws for the pau ferros. ???

  • @johndeere1951a

    Hogue offers a " Contour Classic " series of grips that might be thicker. I have the same condition you have with hand size. I go with the large side panels on my H&K VP9 SK, wide panels on my Steyr M9 C2 MF... And always the large back straps when possible. I think the ONLY con of Sigs is their grips are too narrow. Beautiful precision tools otherwise. I wish you had measured with a caliper your stock before and then your wood grip after dimensions.
    ✌️👍

    How have they aged? Would you recommend walnut grips for a firearm that is EDCd appendix carry?

    • @jeffshootsstuff
      @jeffshootsstuff  10 месяцев назад

      Up to you. I haven’t carried these but I’ve used my P226 for many matches in hot and sweaty conditions and they’ve been fine. A little carnauba wax if they get abraded or the finish gets damaged. Probably would use the OEM plastic grips for appendix carry if they were actually touching my skin b

      If you mean the texture/checkering/grippiness it's better than the OEM grips.

    Did u use red lock tight on the screws?

    • @jeffshootsstuff
      @jeffshootsstuff  3 года назад +3

      No... red loctite is for stuff you never want to move again, unless you use heat. use Purple or Blue, or put o-rings below the screws.

    yours is an old west germany, as you are with this gun? I also own the installed us the grips of Nills grips, the only problem that I find on its shippers 7 cartridges is that they are hard and sometimes impossible to download them manually

    Why not factory rosewood grips??

    • @jeffshootsstuff

      Because they're laminated and they look like garbage IMO.

    Best Semi auto .45 ACP sidearm invented since the 1911. ..the 1911 is #1 numero uno! next best gun is the Sig Sauer P220
    I own em both. Then after these two is the Glock21sf. And then the Glock 30s. Then perhaps the H&K tactical or the Socom...
    So as it pertains to the 45 ACP I just named the best of the best..
    U are displaying the Second best..second coolest..military Police sidearm.. ever invented..
    Good deal....
