I just found this channel when doing research on josanja paints and I can say I can’t wait to get them and that this is my favorite miniature painting channel I have come across
My favourite blues in order of preference are: - Prussian Blue (PB27, From memory Derivan Matisse is the only company that has the real one in acrylic form, mostly due to the pigment being unstable in normal acrylic medium) - Cobalt Teal (PG50, can be seen as a green) - Indathrone Blue (PB60) There are some other fun Matisse blues such as the Mayan colours. I haven't played with them yet.
It's really interesting that Ultramarine with white gets a very quick periwinkle, god knows I've struggled with different mixes of blues and purples and whites when it was that easy!
That'd why blue is one of those colors I think should always come in a set with one phthalo and one ultramarine as single pigments. With all the white and blends that's added to set paints uts hard to get back to that starting point when it's so easy to take off from instead.
I've been working on a Space Wolf Kill Team and have walked right into the issues you pointed out. I have plenty of blues but have never really done a full blue scheme before so picking the correct hues that actually worked together took me a fair bit of trial and error. I had something like 10 different blues on my table. Some were too purple, some were too green, and some were way too desaturated.

I loved the Rob Zombie reference.
Rob Zombie reference was unexpected but nicely done 😂
That paint job is stunning 😍
Thanks so much!
Blue is my favorite color as well. I have to work at not using it for all my models. I had to laugh when mentioned something similar
I now understand the phrase "Hello, fellow haters of the blue."

Well space wolf's grey has a habit of being really strange too. It's like a purple not-purple grey x_x
I'm definitely guilty of forgetting which blues I've worked with and ended up using the wrong one when trying to recreate a specific shade.
