The Tiny Factory & Olive Oil Lamp by Artist Kim Sørensen

Did you know that olive oil is the cleanest burning oil? Most oil lamps work with paraffin oil, which is a petroleum-based oil, a slightly cleaner version of Kerosine.
Kim Sørensen ‪@k.sorensen‬ designed and built an oil lamp that works with normal household olive oil. Kim is a Designer and Artist, but also works as a Metallbauer for our member startup Velofracht GmbH.
In this video we will share more about Kim's projects as part of our artist feature "Masterpieces at MotionLab.Berlin". He explains how he built the oil lamp and what machines he used. Where does he built the lamp? In and with his Tiny Factory that he also created himself. The Tiny Factory is a portable half cubic metre factory. "The factory contains all tools and materials necessary to manufacture 40 lamps from start to finish. This will greatly reduce my monthly fixed costs and will allow me to focus on establishing efficient manufacturing techniques".
