UPDATE: I played Together Again: A "Lake's Funland" Story on stream which was another 2023 fangame released that I completely missed out on and didn't know existed. It was a pretty good FNAF fangame! Woildn't have made the Top 5 honestly, but it would've definitely been in the Honorable Mentions as the only good fangame in the section. 💀

Just Finished the game, It’s pretty good!
The first version of dormitabis in my opinion if without the self insert, it would be a ass game with rng and the god awful voice acting (garvey voice acting is funny as hell)
That uh, story with Garvey uhm it was revolting.

One thing i forgot to mention is that 2023 would have been a bigger year for fnaf fangames if it wasnt for fnaf+ being canceled
This was a pretty fun video. My favorite was probably A Bite At Freddy's (I haven't gotten in Playtime with Percy because it's very hard for me lol). I am honestly most hyped for Real Time FNAF 1 and FNAC:FUR and the development of the Musical Catalogue is going well (plan to release the Alpha with one level in February of early March and a demo with five levels at the end of the year).
Honestly I stopped paying attention to FNAF fan games after ONAF 3 and FNAF Plus was cancelled but I still wanna see FNAC 4

i always make the mistake of trying the max modes in a lot of these games and then regretting that decision deeply about 30 seconds in
Chica's party world was going to have an update that has the pre night minigames include some threats and were gonna make them challenging like you wanted to, but unfortunately because thereisnosteak had the screw things up its likely that the update wont be happening anytime soon, maybe never. Also surprise! You didnt think you hear from me again did you? I hope you dont mind me commenting on this video, i just wanted to point out something about the game since youve mentioned it.
UPDATE: turns out the update is coming after all, just without steak's involvement.
2023 is proved to be a good year for FNAF fangames, some are great, some are meh, and some are mediocre. By the way, there's another FNAF fangame called Together Again: A "Lake's Funland" Story which is basically what Scott Cawthon's humans model would end up if they were actual animatronics. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself if you're interested. With that said, these fangames are no doubt some of the best to have ever come out in 2023 and i couldn't be more proud.
I agree with this list.plus I agree with playtime with percy.it’s hard but it’s honestly a best fan game ever.
Thought that Bondees barnyard would have been one. I would say that that was one of my top five in 2023

Personally I would have used the Amireal intense booping simulator music for the Dormitabis remaster, but I do think the remaster was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The gameplay felt smooth. Though I kind of wish golden call still had a unique mechanic instead of having a staring contest with him. Also Garvey’s motive definitely screamed less edgy 14 year old writing (if you didn’t know he killed people because they made fun of him for being purple) and not have a teenager girl being violated to death (you probably know this by now but Maria was 15 when Garvey in the original did you know what) and somehow payed a kid who was likely close to Maria’s age 5 dollars (I don’t know why that was a thing but it was so ridiculous it is kind of funny) to shove his little brother into the moth of fredbear. (Obviously the kid in the foxy mask probably was easy to persuade or was just looking for an excuse to shove his little brother into fredbear) the new and improved Garvey’s motive is basically if you were to take a big brother confronting a little brothers bullies and times it by 100. (This was a long comment probably longer than necessary)

Mechanism: boring (overrated)
Dormitabis Remastered: peak of 2023 (underrated)
MYPOPGOES: short and easy (just a demo)
A Bite at Freddys: good but there are better (one of the better)
The Return to Bloody Nights: Great game (great "origins" fnaf game but not the best)
Chicas party world: rebaked: i dont like this (maybe worst in this video)
Playtime with Percy: In my opinion the Second Best ffg of 2023 (one of the best of 2023)

Why was JR's not in this? Not hating just genuinely curious, it was a super cool game and one of my favs, i thought it would atleast get a honorable mention 😢
1. That released in 2022.
2. It wouldn't make it on the best list because the game objectively has terrible and poorly structured game design, admittedly good character designs, but you rarely get to see them because they are locked behind a green static screen on the cameras, a broken boss night, a story that makes no sense and has more questions than answers which means it is a terrible story, and its newer developer cannot constructive criticism. It's a game that is extremely overrated and is only like because of its visuals. Gameplay is factually more important to a game than visuals, and that's something the greater FNAF community fails to see.
@@Tylerland264 While I see your complaints, I feel you're too hard on the game 😭 while I get the visual complaints and the camera part there is other wells on telling where the ghost is and isn't, and the gameplay is some of the best parts in my opinion having a unique gameplay mechanic and separating itself from others being unique and fun to have something different from the normal template that is FNAF fan games, and personally the final boss night while being difficult and somewhat confusing, was a really fun challenge to overcome and is a homage to the normal FNAF formula in a way treating it like a FNAF 2 game. While I don't know much about the games development Or the developer I still wouldn't say it's a completely terrible game, and the story was pretty fun aswell! It's simple or atleast seems to me? Sure it doesn't fit in with the normal FNAF timeline but it's allowed to be it's own thing and change things up a bit, it IS it's own unique thing after all, so while I see your complaints and why it's not on the top it's not a objectively horrible game.
Or did you just made that up because you hated it so much that you would downgrade the current dev team for no reason?
