    Amare Stoudemire had been criticized for just about everything: his defense, his rebounding, even his desire. The Phoenix forward listened calmly all week, then responded with a monster game. Stoudemire attacked the Los Angeles Lakers relentlessly, matching his career playoff high with 42 points and grabbing 11 rebounds to power the Suns to a 118-109 victory Sunday night. The win sliced the Lakers' lead in the Western Conference finals to 2-1.

    One of the most athletic bigs in nba history (in his prime)

    • @joeyvast
      @joeyvast 9 лет назад +38

      IBMCREW1 Exactly. He was 6' 11" doing guard like vertical & adjustments in mid air, with a soft touch around the rim.

    Brings back nostalgia of these great Western Conference rivalries...Lakers Suns are both obsolete now lol. Stoudemire, Nash, Bryant, Gasol, Bynum...all at or near their primes. Great series

    If it wasn't for the knee injuries, he could've redefined the PF position.Even the Amare in this video isn't what he could've been.He'd alread had 2 microfracture procedures by that point.He was an amazing combination of speed, power, and finesse.Had the first step of a shooting guard and great touch around the basket.He's one of the top 5 basketball prospects of the last 15 years imo.Injuries and D'antoni's no defense basketball stunted his growth

      @N8veJay 8 лет назад +6

      Absolutely, and as a subs fan, back than it pissed me of, but now I'm really glad our lost only came because another GOAT player had us beat, nothing is wrong losing to such a legendary player. We've beaten Kobe before in 2006 & 2007, but this was the Suns best year due to having the quick offense and better defense than what mike d Antoni had them, and Kobe had a team he was with the best since his Shaqs duo days. Also amare was such a beast power foward.

    I can't believe this was only four years ago, he has regressed so badly in the last three years. The Knicks front office never cared to put a decent point guard on his side.

      Especially when they got Melo.

    • @anticringepolice
      @anticringepolice 9 лет назад +3

      he can still play 80% of this, but not given the opportunity to. The guards they have had are absolute shit... Raymond Felton, not even worth to be a backup PG at this point. Maybe if Lin stayed but the way Lin's progressed, doesn't look like he wouldn't have done much either, but who knows... but yes, all the guards on NY been absolute garbage. When Kidd was there, Amare was constantly hurt.

    • @ElTuco84
      @ElTuco84 9 лет назад +1

      ***** Felton is no longer with the team. This season Amar'e has been outstanding in his limited minutes, maybe Larkin, Calderon and Prigioni have something to do with it.

    • @BrbAtTheGym
      @BrbAtTheGym 9 лет назад +4

      ElTuco84 Nah, in his first year in NY with Felton as his point-guard he still went off and had just as good a season as any he had in Phoenix. It all went to shit when Melo came and purged the team of depth and chemistry. It also didn't help that D'Antoni got fired since his pick and roll heavy offense gave Amare plenty of opportunities to score. All things considered, he's still not as bad a player as everyone makes him out to be. Still a threat off the pick and roll, still pretty athletic and is definitely efficient. He's should be a very solid rotation player in Miami with Dragic and Wade diming him.

    • @ElTuco84
      @ElTuco84 9 лет назад +1

      BrbAtTheGym Totally agree, Amar'e in his prime was more lethal than Blake Griffin.

Robbed him of his insanely explosive athleticism, first step, an jump-out-of-the-gym abilities. Just look at the highlights when he wore #32 to see what I'm talking about.
