I just picked up the SQ7 with the black optic and carbon package , the black Audi union rings and carbon mirror caps really make a difference, the all wheel steering is incredible at both low and high speeds. Definitely don’t see many of these , unlike the bwm. Love this machine
Nice review. There used to be S logos on the red front brake callipers for the Sport Package in the past model years, now they are gone. I test drove X5 M50i, RR Autobiography and Cayenne GTS before choosing the SQ7. SQ7 looked and felt the most harmless but turned out to be the quickest. The combination of active anti-roll bar, the rear wheel steering and the sport differential is just black magic. The twin turbo V8 is a gorgeous engine, but it does consume a considerable amount of engine oil in city traffic.
That’s a bummer about the logo being gone. Thank you so much for your insight! I’m considering the SQ7 or the X7. The third row is killing me. It does look more like a wagon than an SUV, but the black optics package makes it look so cool, lol. Is there an option to get black rims? The back of an X7 makes it look like a minivan. Are there air vents in the back row of the SQ7, does the moon roof go all the way to the third row?
@@rnguyen2516 Audi does not provide OEM black rims for SQ7. I have to say SQ7's third row is only for emergency. The space and equipments are so limited for adults to travel over 1hr. There is no adjustable air vents in SQ7's third row, just some outlets under the side windows. The moon roof only reaches the seatbacks of the second row. Folding down the middle seat of the second row provides a little relief. If you need to use the tird row on a regular basis, X7 is definitely the better choice. Compared with SQ7, X7's third row is like heaven.
@@rnguyen2516 Also, if you decide to go with the X7, opt for or choose stock car equipped with the Dynamic Handling Package. The active anti-roll bar makes a difference on these elephants.
@@msun8423 wow, thank you so much for your insight! It’s nice to get your feedback on the third row on these, and what it’s like to sit back there, with the vents and moon roof, as I will have to use it from time to time. Or maybe I should just keep my minivan for hauling people and have this as my play car lol!
Gotta also remember that this has essentially same drivetrain as the urus, but they used a software retune to keep the price down. Given that this drivetrain has been around forever andworked the bugs out of it, a $1000 tune will unlock that detuning and get you 640+ HP, which makes this a crazy bargain if you are into that type of thing. That tune will make it competitive with any BMW / Mercedes / Range Rover Large SUV.
Wow that SQ7 is very fast for being such a heavy vehicle. I mean 3.9 seconds 0-60 mph is very quick, and I think Audi claimed like 4.5 seconds, which of course, they lied big time :D The V6 was alright in the normal Q7, but this 4.0L V8 is what this car needs. I'm glad Audi put this V8 in this car.
Just purchased a 22 SQ7 prestige...Comes with black break calipers that do have the S stamped on them..Picked up a Peddle Commander for any throttle lag & holly fawk the car moves..Also threw in some E85 making this thing a beast...Will be picking up a JB4 adding 70HP pretty soon
The SQ7 is definitely a car that shouldn't be slept on. Very practical, yet very fast and powerful. That 4.0L V8 is exactly what this car needed to give it that extra oomph~
Why is this called an SQ7 when it has RS level performance and numbers? Also, did I hear that it has ventilated seats? I thought you can't get that with the S diamond stitched leather seats? I hope the newer S models see this kind of improvement for the next gen too.
Who wants to be in a carpool? Not me. A day without having to get into the car and drive anywhere is a good day in my opinion and I drive an Audi. I have a 2021 S-5 and it has under 4,000 miles on it. I do find that the MMI is annoying compared to my 2018 and 2013 S5 models. I also realize that the S-5 receives all the old trickle down MMI stuff and that the platform is Audi's entry level model but still, the MMI is so awful I just turn it off when using the car.
I don't know why manufacturers put a unrealistic third row in their large SUV. If a consumer really want a realistic third SUV. They need to shop between the Cadillac Escalade ESV, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Grand Waggoner L. These three are the real deal three row SUV.
Because some of us need to occasionally haul 3+ kids and still want the ability to go 0 - 60 like lightning McQueen when the kids aren’t loaded. Not everyone wants a full size suv. I equate this to more of a multirole fighter jet, it does almost everything but nothing stands out extraordinarily. It’s somewhat compromised, it’s an suv after all, but it will do just about everything (haul, tow, haul kids, go fast, etc).
@@reynaldocordero4247 I’m going to go and enjoy my SQ7, you go and enjoy whatever’s it is you drive, which I’m betting is not any of these vehicles we mentioned. 😂
HP is also the max power in a certain high RPM range, if the car delivers the power at still at low RPM ranges the car can be quicker than a car with with more HP who delivers them only at the peak RPM. The trend is generally more torque at any RPM than max HP.

I think the sq7 is faster than M50i as Car and driver tested sq7 at 3.5 secs for 0-60 and M50i at 3.9 secs !
A better comparison would have been B7 Alpina. The SQ7 is a three row. The M50i you talking about was it the X5 or X7?
@@reynaldocordero4247 Its the x5 M50i. Because the x7 is a full size suv.
Even the alpina xb7 would be slightly slower than sq7 because the launch of the latter one is insane. But x5m will beat sq7.
A car i can afford and love! 🤣 Great review again Miles :)
12:20 of course it was, just marketing they can call it launch control but its not cause its not dual clutch
Great cabin 👌overall except for the screens. More a BMW X fan myself this Q holds its own.

It comes with ventilated seats. Maybe Audi just doesn't think it necessary to put RS on a 7-seater. Just like these is no RS8
It's an S because the RS Q8 exists with a big bump in performance (same platform). Doubt Audi will make an RS Q7, but the SQ7 is plenty potent
personally i would take a x5 m competition but this is a great high end car.
