Dallin: “so he was named after me or I was named after him”
Sando: “you were named after him”
Dallin: “Oh”
😂😂😂
😂
Well, he’s many people’s favourite character. So at least there’s that
Came down to the comments to find this one. Dallin's moment of realisation haha
I scrolled the section to find exactly that comment. It was very funny moment.
You can see in his face how he'll need therapy because of this in twenty years...
His name is a mix of Kaladin and Dalinar
Q: What superpower would you pick?
Dallin: The power of all of them.
The guy who invented Mistborns: You can't do that, that's cheating!
The Guy whose Reddit username is Mistborn no less lol
Hoid has entered the chat
@@emilyirl4712 to be fair, a wise man once said: hoid is an asshole
To be fair he thought of the person who came up with Sanderson's second law
I mean the main villian had all 3 of the power systems of that series 😂
Brandon Sanderson is goofy.
You meant Branderson Sanderson, didn't you? What you used is a made up name, don't make fun of him
Dallin: "he looks like he's crying"
Brandon: "this is either Stormlight or..."
_Everyone, internally:_ "because he's massively depressed"
Brando: "frogs are my favorite animal?"
Me: *looks at roshar* "that's a strange way to pronounce crabs"
I had just same thought :DD
Wouldn't lurgs be the closest approximation to frogs? I'm still only half sure on that association
Reshi Greatshells are basically turtles though, so at least Dallan’s animal is represented.
At least Dallin learns how to read faster than Dalinar
Nice one😂😂😂
so tru, lol
😂 good one
Yah I do
“I don’t understand how I can’t read. It just doesn’t make sense.”

Yep. I read slowly, too. It's always an audiobook.

Hey Brandon, Dallin seems like a super cool kid. He said at the beginning that he's interested in animation and or video game art. I'm a 3D product artist and I would highly recommend you get him set up with Blender and some tutorials. I'm severely dyslexic, but it turns out that a lot of dyslexics think in 3D instead of 2D like most people. That's why 2D concepts like words and numbers get mixed up in our heads, our brains are trying to figure out how they look in 3D so they get flipped around and mixed up. I started learning 3D software in middle school and high school and it changed my life forever! Suddenly I knew what I was good at and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So please, get that kid into some 3D classes! It might not be right for him but there is a really good chance he will take it and run with it. :) Dyslexics for the win!
Wow as literally everything you said, strangely including your school experience is true for me as well I completely agree
as a dyslexic person, can you fully read your own comment? I like the thought though!
I am a cool Kid
And 3d modle ARTIST! that's so cool
@@Deathbanes hey Dipshit I used my microphone for this comment crazy right?
My meme made it! The dun/infused cow at 23:49. When I originally posted the meme on reddit, my favorite comment was that the cow should be called "Cowadin Stormblessed".
I'm not sure if I was a little disappointed that he didn't know it was a pub sign, not a shop
the dun cow was the only one i laughed at. nice job catching that sign and making the meme!
"I put it in the books because it gives your mother a smile everytime she runs across it"
This man is just too wholesome
I was thinking how wholesome and romantic it was too! 🥰👌🏼
That story is so hilarious though xD

Hehehe I love your videos Brandon, and the books are even better :)

Presumably he's a bronze ferring
After reading Alcatraz, I can say with confidence that Brandon Sanderson is incredibly goofy.
You, a casual: The wifi password is too complex to be read out loud.
Michael Kramer, a true hero: hold my warm water.
I don't care what anyone one says, Dallin's comment at 30:44 is the most underrated part of the video. "Painrial? Does it make pain REEal?" Fucking classic, well played brother you will be a terrific dad.
"We cant' beat Duke Fishron, he's so hard!"
I. Feel. This.
Also Branderson Sanderson is goofy.
Waaaaaait wheretf are the Terraria References?
@@mihirx27 It was towards the very end of the video. Brando Sando talks about getting his money's worth from playing that game with his kids.
God I love that so much
I'd completely forgotten about the string of numbers, but as soon as y'all mentioned it I could hear Michael's voice breaking through the fog of memory: "One one one eight two five...."
Also, Brandon Sanderson is goofy.
Cool. My oldest son is named Dallin, also... in fact, he’s the one who introduced me to your work.
I’m dyslexic and i listened to all the storm light books on audible, they are the most fantastic things.
Thanks for helping me through lock down 🙏
I'm not dyslexic, but it's hard for me to read for long periods of time. I also love the Stormlight Archives on audible.
Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are phenomenal narrators. When he says, "You can not have my pain," near the end of Oathbringer... Hair on end, tears in my eyes. Every time. It's such an elevated experience, when compared to anything I could possibly do in my own head. lol

Dallin you can 100% be a professional artist. Just draw a lot! Draw what you love and passionately pursue it. You have so much time, you're young. Just draw lots! You can be an artist and make a good career out of it. :)
Thanks :)
That smoke is from when he marched across a burning field.... yeahh.... let's go with that 🤣
I'm in part 3 of Rythymn of War Brandon, and it only gets better and better. Thanks for your fantastic writing.
I started my re read on the day the book released and I'm finally almost finished oathbringer again
Dang school cuts down reading time
But this time next week, or in the days after, I will probably be reading row!!
It gets even better than that if you can believe it
I am 1/3 of the way through it
I've seen him sign so many "books" that I'm beginning to think that there isn't a book out there by him that isn't autographed.
The Gorilla melting meme seems like a derivative of the meme where Harambe's death was actually part of a big conspiracy, wherein Harambe was killed so that he couldn't tell the kid who got into his enclosure a big secret regarding the Clintons, or other things depending on who made any given version of the meme.
That’s what I thought too! I think the biggest secret to remember is that we are all Harambe’s children.
You could be a meme. I'm a table. But you could be a meme. I'm a table!

We need some more storm light content from you man! You make really good content.

Oh and I've also listened to a ton of podcasts from "the 17th shard" channel. They are all wizards whom I highly recommend checking out if you haven't already.

Dallin: Reveals secret Horneater recipe... dump all Halloween candy into a bowl and get a spoon.
Brandon: That's a dessert.
This kid is my hero. Very funny.
Brandon, you are a fantastic author. You, and Mull, are my favorite authors by far. I am blind, and the books that you write have some of the most detail in any book. They literally transport me into the worlds that you create. Keep doing what you are doing. Oh, and you are very goofy.
Dallin is my favourite Brandon Sanderson character.
20:12 The Moment you realise you have been named after a fictional genocidal murderer, who have killed thousands and SPOILER her own wife too.
And then proceed on a decades long journey of pain, failure, loss, and eventually striving to become a good man again, in order to help save your loved ones and humanity as a whole. Dalinar is definitely not a 1D character, and the best chapters imo are where we see how flawed and evil he was, so we can contrast that to how good he could become/is becoming. i.e. the entire point of (at least the first 4 so far) books, where humans prove that they can change and be better. Literally every major character in stormlight so far is this lol. I hope he reflects one day on how his namesake idealizes how people can change, and should change, so that they can become better.
But yeah it was funny that he looked surprised and expected it to be the other way around, I hope it didn't upset him!
As an up-and-coming ADHD Comic Artist and Author, Dallin speaks to me.

Ok, about games for Dallin to play with strong character creation systems...
Can you imagine a dnd game with Sanderson as the DM? Might give Mercer a run for his money.
I would so love to see that (or be a part of it!)
So i guess Dalinar is a Worldhopper now? and got some awesome skin care to make him look as young as a child.

After seeing p1 and p2 what a great dad sanderson is. It's amazing that he can pay so much attention to his children's interests while delivering amazing content for all of us to read. Ty Brandon for being who you are, you're a legend.
Every sunset supposedly ends with a green flash, but it's hard to see. It doesn't take the whole sky, but it's pretty cool and it's on Earth. :)
Or you can cheat and travel close to the poles to see the northern or southern lights. They are often green
I listened to the entire number sequence when I was listening to the book. I was driving my mom, she hasn't read any of Brandon's books, and the numbers just started listing. We had a good laugh at that.
Speak the words!
Brando Sando is goofy!
It is accepted.
Hey Brandon (or others) how do you fight the feeling while writing that you're writing something really weird?
Brandon Mull has talked about the weirdness of writing a teenage girl. On my end, I feel embarrassed about writing a fantasy about merpeople. What can I do to get past this?
Acknowledge the thoughts of weirdness and keep on writing. Your mind is your tool not your enemy.
@Annie Wavecrest Well, I'm embarrassed because... well, I'm a guy. I don't think it makes much sense, but it is pretty widely perceived that merpeople are for girls.
Regardless, my story takes place in a world where a coastal human nation and a collection of merfolk city states are in a constant on and off war.
In this conflict, the humans have captured merpeople, where they keep them in "farms" to harvest their colorful scales, using them in things like jewelry.
The crux of the story revolves around a boy named Irian who works at a scale farm, and it follows him as he confronts the complex situation between the humans and merfolk.
@@WasatchWind iirc, he (but it might also have been another writer's interview/podcast) once said that he had that in the beginning too, but not so much now. The more you write, the more you get your style and rhythm, as well as your strengths and flaws - so it's easier to catch it when it happens and easier to fix it after it happens. When it does happen, you can get it out while editing, even before giving it to alpha-readers. When it happens in the beginning, it's better to push through and try to fix later, or get tips etc, than to stay and try to fix something. The inertia will slow everything down. Either push through and fix later or skip and try again later.
I'm not a writer myself, but I remember something like this, because I'd be deathly afraid of that happening too, before showing it to someone.
@@daddyleon it's not really just feeling self conscious about my writing - I have no problem showing people my other work. With this one it's the topic, and I feel odd writing about it.
