riley newman comes across as a total asshole on the pickleball court and i just love watching him lose. you did great lindsey. get a better partner. thank you ALW/BJ.
@@perproject06agreed cuz I’m very competitive but yelling directly in the face/direction of your opponent is trash. I’ve always been taught in sports to yell towards your own team or away from your opponent when cheering or celebrating
you do know that lindsay complements rileys aggressive court coverage play? she knows rileys game more than anyone. she is an assister and knows her role. lindsay just needs more pro play since she has been out for awhile.
One of the greatest inhibitors of athletic performance is the fear of losing! Riley... your biggest obstacle is your prospective and thus your behavior on the court!
So the Newmans don’t tap after game one and two looking pretty childish doing so. . and then Riley snubs AL at the end. Riley just might be the Patrick Reed of pickleball.
Riley is ridiculous. If he had any credibility people might have followed suit on the mid match taps. . . but no one wants to be associated with him. Hopefully he will find a way to save face and get out of this reputational tailspin he has gotten himself into.
I get it that you don't want to tap paddles until after the match is over, but dismissing an opponent because she beat you on match point? Who's the petulant 16 year old here?
My assessment is that ALW is superior to the others in terms of raw skill and talent. One thing you can't teach or learn, however, is height. Amazing skill from all of these athletes.
From what I see, that as this game continues to progress, it will be more like ping-pong than tennis. You can see it in this match and watching Dylan Frazier and JW Johnson.
Not sure. Since he seemed to establish both feet on the court before hitting the overhead it's probably legal. If he had pushed off like he did and didn't reestablish both feet on the court it would have been a fault. But that's just IMO.
@@AMurderOfLobs I saw it happen in another ladies doubles match and was also surprised when lobs resulted in multiple foot fault calls. The reason was the same - the player's first step to hit the lob was a small step forward into the nvz which resulted in being called by the ref on it
@@AMurderOfLobs that makes sense, and the rules also indicate that's the case. It seems like the ref has to decide if a full extra step occurred before the step where the ball is volleyed. The lobs in that other ladies match where faults were called must have been not quite as deep resulting in only one or two smaller steps before hitting the lob.
You say "yeah!!" when you smash and get a point, but not when your opponent make mistake.
Excellent pickleball. Great to see Lindsey competing again.

Have to agree! Yikes!!
Being super competitive sometimes comes off as arrogant and being a jerk. He’s actually very nice if you meet him in person.

@@justinmurray24exactly! Doing towards your opponent is poor form.

Because Riley lost the last ball from AL, he decided to snubs AL.

@Aaron84 Have to agree. RN is talented but a jerk!

Now hand these guys a fly swatter each and invite them to your next barbeque - fly problem professionally solved
Holy shit that is the most boomer joke ever
Nice video! Thank you!
Need to buy the paddle that the Newman is using. Great and entertaining game.
37:08 was this a nvz fault by Ben? Looks like his first step was into the nvz before he then hits Riley's return out of the air

no point in watching mixed doubles if the dudes are just gonna hog the court the whole time
It is called stacking and it is a classic mix doubles strategy. The women are making plenty of great shots.

Why only two out of three?
Because on ESPN. They only had an hour… trying out pickleball.
Should have been first to 3 games
show me a date!!!
Lindsey should invest in some sunscreen
Woo Hoo 🎉

Lindsey Newman the weak link on the court. So many mistakes
ben the ball hog
Ben and ALW are stacking, a classic strategy in pickleball. Having him take most of the balls on many of the points is their strategy.
@@jamesmartenson8203 So their strategy is ben the ball hog. Doesn't make it any better.
@@Kyleforthe3SIKEits ben johns lmao you want him to ball hog
Remember ALW 4th high level game today, so he is giving her a rest
Lindsay is no way a pro . It’s sad to see her bro just Bogart all her plays . I know these two from Wa state . She is mediocre at best !
She and Riley beat the two best players in the world in the second game. She is an outstanding player
I honestly hate pickpeball
It’s just a game bro
Lol the joke of recreational sports.
YAC!!
