@@elitedragonslayer100 Correct, still illegal. If a person volleys the ball behind the line and then his momentum carries him INTO the NVZ or touches any NVZ line then he loses the point.
That's a good question. The NVZ violations often are not easily understood.

I doubt it. Roddick was never that good at the net and there are no big serves in Pickleball. Jack was playing with the best women's player by far and still dropped the first game before he started running around his backhand. Allyce and Riley's strategy of going at Jack only works if they could make Jack hit backhands, especially dinks, and keep the ball down. They could not do it after the first game and Jack's forehand just wore out Allyce. Jack is a great doubles tennis player and he has a great forehand. It's unclear if he can hide his backhand enough in Pickleball to be the best.

And Sock was paired with ALW in his first ever pro tournament... and I'll say it again... "that must be nice". Not taking anything away from Sock at all here either. In the pickleball court, here's what you'll find,
Techniques to master, victory in mind.
Master basics, with skills so refined,
    Serve, volley, dink, accuracy aligned.
Position wisely, near the kitchen's space,
Control the game, set opponents in chase.
Serve placement matters, deep and true,
Variety in spins, keep opponents askew.
Communication is key, a partnership grand,
Coordinate with signals, a synchronized band.
Choose shots wisely, adapt to the flow,
Lobs, drives, drops, smashes, where opponents go.
    Footwork swift, nimble and light,
Reach shots faster, balance held tight.
    Anticipate, read your foe's intent,
    React swiftly, your shots well-meant.
    Defense paramount, return with control,
Keep the ball in play, seize the winning role.
Practice and play, sharpen your skills,
Face different styles, embrace the thrills.
With these techniques, your game shall rise,
Pickleball triumph, under the sunny skies.

the ball slows down significantly so there are more chances to get to the ball; this counters a lot of the power and speed advantages you may have when playing tennis. And because they are playing doubles and the court is much smaller there is a lot less empty space to hit to.
