The mirror scene. The way their hands join, Dumbledore smiling for a second when he see adult Grindelwald. That we like it or not he was madly in love with that man. I can't say for sur it was reciprocated by Grindelwald but my headcanon is that yes, yes it was. Grindelwald may have used Dumbledore feeling for him but it doesn't mean he didn't love him. It make him an even more interesting and fascinating character if he was in love with Dumbledore.
Grindlewald knew the Eldar Wand was with Dumbledore and obviously buried with him and when Voldermort came wanting to know where the Eldar wand was, a defenseless and wandless Grindlewald laughed at him until Voldermort used the Ava kadavra spell on him.
It is said that Grindlewald showed remorse for the things he'd done in his life in the last few years before he was murdered.
YES, a hundred percent yes, to this! It would make their story even more heartbreaking and tragic. Albus forced to defeat and imprison his only love, no to mention spend the rest of his life alone. Gellert, locked away for more than 50 years by his beloved, a fate worse than death, indeed.
