  • If you're going to make something like this, rather than give you a specific recipe (I think you should play around) I'll give you my main tips:
    use bold flavours
I recommend using at least some overproof rum
coconut cream tends to give less problems than coconut milk
use a ratio of 4 parts cocktails to one part coconut cream
leave the mixture to separate for 24 hours

Happy piña colada day!!! Definitely adding this to the list to try. Never have the right fat content of milk in the house for regular clarifies but coconut milk is always on hand.

It can be fiddly. Definitely leave it for 24 hours before filtering.

You couldn't have a better way to show off some gorgeous clear ice! We're in very much the same boat... we like to use orange peel for garnishes and such, but really don't drink orange juice, so suddenly you're stuck with all this extra orange you don't need! This was a perfect use of it! Interesting to hear the longer time had such good results as well. Thanks for this Andrew! What a great version of a classic!

It's funny, I don't really like orange juice in cocktails but I really like it in clarified cocktails

This sounds like a great one. I have to try the coconut cream clarifying method, maybe this summer is the time!

Hey this beauty looks delicious Andrew and it's worth the work!! Thank you so much! I am the same on OJ in cocktails but it sounds okay in this drink! I will definitely give this cocktail a try. It looks wonderful!! Gorgeous clarity and I always love showing off a cocktail in a rocks glass over clear ice! Great advice on using higher proof spirits! Cheers!! 🙂

With my birthday party coming up, this might be a great way to make a big batch and serve it from a spouted jar 🥥🥥🥥
With the addition of orange juice this reminds me a bit of a Painkiller. I might try to add some nutmeg or cinnamon and see how it holds up!

Are you using coconut cream or cream of coconut? You use both terms in the video and where I am from coconut cream is fattier thicker coconut milk and cream of coconut is thick sweetened coconut milk, namely Coco Lopez. Love your channel!

Hiya, I'm using home made cream of coconut. Word of warning if you try it, it can be difficult to work with and take a long time to filter.

@@AngryCocktails Do you have a recipe for your home made cream of coconut? Thanks!

It's honestly just 50% coconut milk and 50% sugar. Maybe a pinch of salt.
