Art teacher here: you learn the primary colors are blue, yellow and red because you are learning about paint. Blue, Green and red Works for light, thats why you see these colors in screens like tvs.
@@normanjessicaj false. Those are the secondary colours of light. The 3 primary alone, RBG, make white light. The secondary ones of MCY are made by combining two of the primaries.
@@HulklingsBoyfriend I don't think you understand that RGB works as primaries when projecting light and CMY is used when reflecting light, like how paint, ink, and dye reflect light. This is why LEDS use RGB and printers use CMYK. When reflecting lights CMY becomes primary and RGB become secondary, otherwise CMYK printers would just make mud. Red Blue and Yellow are probably labelled as art class taught primary colours bc they aren't actually primary colours, which adds a bit of muddiness to the colours (which makes mixing the vast majority of natural colours quicker and easier, but can't give a full primary colour spectrum, like vibrant violet.)
When you see Emily in her Snake Discovery shirt with her name on it, you know you are about to learn something. I think she misses doing the educational programs at schools and with other groups. Hopefully next year she can get back to doing what she obviously loves.
it's not actually that accurate, a LOT of humans can only see two or even just one colour and there are even some who can see four. my assumption is therefore that there may also be some snakes who can see three colours.
Also, when snakes flick their tongues, they actually create vortexes around each fork that pull the air in from the sides so that they get as many particles as possible on their tongue. This is unique to snakes, and even forked tongued lizards don't do this.
It's so they only get material from that respective direction, not to collect as much as possible. Keeping the sources of the particles as segregated as possible helps give the snake a reliable way to track food down.

That's soo cool! Graphic designer here! The primary colors that kids learn in school (blue, red, yellow) are for pigment, since you mix those colors to get other colors, and you mix all three to get black. Visible light (to humans at least) is a similar mix, but the yellow is replaced with green, and instead of them all mixing to black, they mix to white. That's also why a lot of times if you print something off of a computer on a normal inkjet printer, the colors may look off, because your printer is trying to replicate colors mixed with light on your monitor by mixing four colors of ink (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). I think the difference between light and pigment primaries has to do with reflecting/absorbing wavelengths of color vs just being those wavelengths of color, but my color theory knowledge stops at what I need for work. Someone who specializes in wavelengths and the light spectrum would have to take over from there.
