Dalton you have a way of talking to us as if we are there with you. You get the floor done and then you will see the bathroom coming into a great job completed. Take care and a good video
You seem to do well with methodical work. You get into a rhythm and just keep going. Definitely good work ethics. I can already imagine the satisfaction you'll feel with the slab done.
Rock's On MM! Harbor Freight has a badland Apex 24 ton snatch block and a 4" x 8' tree protection strap rated at 30 tons. I have snatch block rigged to pull a Ford F250 4x that had slid off a slimy Colorado goat trail and was jammed into a tight grove of aspen. The Ford was lower than but next to me and came right up with 24 tons of 12t x 2 snatch block power
I really enjoy the casual conversation while you're working & recording. That looks like a great little mixer! I can't do a project that involves any product with lime as I am deathly allergic to it. I can't even walk down the aisle where cement is stacked (or fertilizers for that matter) without a reaction. Drywall or tile work requires a mask , long sleeves, gloves and a supply of benadryl. I've helped my husband dig footings, get surfaces ready and put forms in - but once the bags of cement came out I had to leave.
Hey Dalton, you might try applying pure neatsfoot or mink oil to your boots to help soften and preserve the leather. You certainly had a workout with moving the gravel inside for prep of your slab pour. Hope the new mixer works out well for your project, looking forward to the next update.
I love the way you can talk as you do the crappy jobs, you keep yourself company and that’s pretty much what everyone does when just trying to get thru a boring tedious job! Love
As a long time user of safety toe work boots, I always found that leather conditioner and Mink oil helped the best to help break in the boots. Especially the mink oil, it softens the leather and keeps it very supple, also adds to the waterproofing capability.
David from Fayetteville. Thanks for the great memory. I was working construction in 1992 and told Redwing Boots was the way to go. They had a shop on MLK right before you turned up Razorback road. Bought boots for 89 dollars. A lot of money back then but paid off in long run. Break in time for boots was painful.
To minimize boot break-in time, mix 3 parts water / 1 part alcohol in a spray bottle, and then spray the areas of your boots that you want to stretch/soften (damp, not soaked). Put on a thick pair of socks and wear the boots while they dry. Mink and Lanolin oils are great leather conditioners/softeners as well.
Is the arch what you need in the boots you bought? That can kill a foot if you don’t have the correct arch for your foot. You sound in good spirits, positive attitude, that’s great for your mental state!
Have u tried searching for steel cap boots might widen your search. U r doing a great job love watching your progress on your home. We r watching from Australia
Gravel looks great! I've had a mixer just like that for years now, and I love it for its compact size. As you said you can put it right wherever you need it, and it gets the job done without ruining your back.
Ahhhhhh. We bought that exact cement mixer and love it. It's worth it's weight & gold. Although we bent the drum mouth almost immediately by it accidentally tipping over it still works great. We don't care what it looks like as long as it gets the job done. We couldn't have done all our projects without it. Great purchase - you won't be sorry. Love the progress. Gravel alone looks great.
Fabulous!! Wonderful energy after a days work! You are a STAR Dalton. Probably running on pure adrenalin with the thought of hot showers and a flushing wc.😉❤❤❤🥳🥳🥳as for camping? In the cold??? At least no snakes I hope they are all asleep!🤣😳
Great deal on the mixer. Google how to soften boots. I just used leather conditioner cream on my Redwings. Worked great and I also use an added waterpoofer on them. FOUR YEARS OF VERY ROUGH USE AND THEY ARE STILL HOLDING UP. Ooops caps sorry lol.
Definitely do not neglect your feet, find the best you can get and if you have to replace them once a year that is really an overall small price to pay since you know you are on your feet beating the hell out of them every day.
Well if you overbought gravel then you have gravel for the driveway. Also I agree with you. Domestic boot selection sucks for us working men. I work in machining but and my boot selection is even smaller than yours because my work boot has to be ISO certified. Mine have to be custom made.
It must be so strange to be actually living in that house now! It has gone from being a project to being a home! Hope you have been able ( and had the time!!!) to make it somewhat comfortable?

Great progress made again on the bathroom. Thanks for sharing all your research too on prices and quality on things needed to buy for each job.
Nice job Dalton! I agree on the mixer! Nice to see the bathroom. You will feel good when the floor is down. 👍👍
Shovel Chat . . . great title for this episode! I enjoy your talking through your work. I hope it makes the job a little easier. Life is Good!
Step by step. It’s all good.
Love seeing incredible progress by my favorite RUclipsr!

Smart move on the summer hoodies.

* Camping - Yaaah! and hopefully your Dad will give Us some more Videos too 😊
No doubt about it, concrete work is….hard 😎. It’ll soon be well worth it though
I didn't know one could buy stone in that quantity from Lowes.
Gravel in a wheelbarrow…..talk about rock ‘n roll!
Great to see you working, Dalton!👍👍
He does nothing BUT work! Day job 11 hours! Video making and editing many hours! Working on the house - more hours!
CONGRATS , New Boots yeah!! I remember that video 😅

Who needs the gym?!?! 💪
I us Carhart comp safety boot for logging ,sure light and they seem to last well. Once slab is done it will go alot faster. Keep ip the good work!

More than likely you'll use this equipment again later for something so better to buy now when cheaper
Irish setter wingshooters have been my go to boots for years.. zero break in period so comfortable.

I am surprised but impressed that 900 lbs of gravel can be contained in a fabric bag. I would re use those for my grocery bags😅😅😅😅😅
Good progress

I had no idea you can buy gravel that way. What's a sun hoodie? Is it a thinner fabric?
dont put the mmixer in the form, its going to be a pain to tip on soft gravel, for sure in the house next to it thou
Gotta love that pick rake 😂
Bro you are going to be showering in your bathroom in January. Keep up the hard work
Two years and a thousand miles on boots is pretty good I think. Sore feet are not good. I want to see more of the work as well as the chats.

Get the glue on rubber toe protectors
Find a cobbler/ shoe repair. They can help you with your boots .
Old, dried up, wrinkly, sun damaged. That’s me! 😂
But you are totally perfect otherwise! 😇
@ awe, thank you!

Hard work. Well done. You’ll be singing in the shower in no time : )
Good progress
