I love how the CG plane looked genuinely terrible, they aren't making this film fancy, they're making it look how it did and should

If you look at the snake/worm thing its evident that is what they are going for and it does look like stopmotion like the comments above mentioned
The fact you can watch them both back to back and just think "they've added make-up to the cast and filmed them together" if you had never heard of the first film is brilliant. Everything about the CGI from the plane to the sand worm in the desert looked exactly like they where all shot in the same year is just fantastic

I saw the first part in the cinema, I was 17 and did not get it at all, I hated the film - but I never forgot it, it stayed with me and I can’t wait to see this one it with my son.
The only difference is the pixels lol! But i guess that just symbolizds the time

Tim Burton's actually going back to his roots for once and using traditional filmmaking techniques. I'm impressed.
Search for "no-cgi is just invisible cgi" to learn how very wrong you are.
There are literally 100 VFX artists listed on the new movie's VFX credits on IMDB.
@@prosiescoteau2152 Visual effect (VFX) does not always mean CGI. Stop motion is VFX, not CGI for example. Original comment is on the money.
@@Misterobozo1 They literally doxxed my username and DM'd me on Twitter with this message: "You have no respect for visual effects artists, why don't you hang up your film snob coat and hang from a length of rope instead?" - then they linked to an Amazon page for 20 feet of twine rope. Absolute psychopath.
@@Misterobozo1 Don't take my word for it. Look through the IMDB credits and the type of work the VFX artists involved have done. Look into the multiple VFX productions houses that were commissioned to work on this. One of Us, Framestore, BUF, and Goldcrest VFX are not stop motion companies.

i don't watch movies often but that caught my eye so much, i don't think the editing of the movie will be good.

like literally feels like an acid trip or something like the fact they managed to maintain the same cast and it actually feels like a convincing addition to the original judging by the trailer is such a hard thing for me to process cause it just rarely ever happens-
I don't know how I feel about movies from my youth being brought back to life..

I was practically sold when I saw Jenna Ortega in there but after seeing the trailer, I doubt that even she can carry the entire movie for me.

I need Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin to at least do a cameo appearance in this.
Geena David decided not to be a part of the sequel because she aged and her body changed. She said it wouldn't have made sense for her to be there since ghosts aren't supposed to age. Alec Baldwin may have been too busy with legal issues and new babies. Also, aging could be the same issue. They did youth up Will Smith in one of his movies with CGI, so it was possible.

I watched beetlejuice and was scared of it when i was little, now i've just watched it last year as a revisit and i absolutely loved it, this couldn't have come at a better time, looking forward to it

I wonder though, why didn’t Tim Burton shoot this on 35mm film? It has so many practical VFX that it would’ve made it even better! (Many films released in 2024 were shot on film)

This is a movie I'm going to watch... on Netflix, 6 months after it comes out on there platform. Because there is probably nothing else to watch
The seemingly instinctive stylistic choices that put Tim Burton on my cultural map in the huge way, I don't wanna jinx anything, but this trailer is riddled with them like those ripe apricots on that three outside are riddled with little squiggly bits of protein-y goodness. I might die of anticipation and have to watch the movie in the waiting room outside Purgatory.

@@caolanod2261 So sad, but so true. According to Alec Baldwin in 30 Rock, he fell out of his beauty bubble, and Geena Davis has said that, since they were dead in the film they shouldn’t age, so it would make no sense for her to appear in the film as an aged version of herself.
I do hope there’s some reference to them in the new movie. They, in effect, became her parents and raised her because they wanted a family, while her mom and dad wanted to pursue their interests, which they were allowed to do because the ghosts were raising their daughter.

Omg i absolutely cannot wait! I'm so happy it looks practical effects heavy and not all CGI. It looks exactly the same as the original as far as effects go and i am going to go see this in the theater!!! I reserved theater viewing for very few movies nowadays, but this one is a must!
