I found these videos from a Kuwait air raid warning on Vimeo where you can hear their Thunderbolt 7026s going off in attack signal. i cut out the parts where you cannot hear the siren.

I remember the first time they turned on the siren, mom put us in black plastic bags and put on our face bleach soaked towels and she began to tape the windows, after 20 mins or so dad called and said its just a test... those were the days

For anyone wondering, this was the peak of the Gulf War, States were helping out Kuwait any way they could, this included shipment of supplies, which included a couple of Thunderbolt 7026's for warning. That's how US sirens ended up in Kuwait

this was the 2003 Iraq war and the federal thunderbolt 7026's where special models mounted on top of a shipping container which housed the blower as well as a backup generator to power the siren.
There in video you can hear a thunderbolt system 7026. A system 7026 is a upgraded and last model of 1003 (it was made in 1990)

Still have ptsd from that siren. I remmeber my mum.calling her sister in kuwait and hearing that siren go off and the hysteria that came from it.
Amazingly there was no threat at all. But those first few weeks of the war and the aftermath were extremely dark times.

I thought these thunderbolts were either a 1003 or 1000T but it is a 7026.

We still do and even years after that they still used to tests to make sure it worked so im pretty sure anyone over 10 knows that siren

A lot of people here confusing this video with 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait but this video was filmed at 2003 when Saddam ordered scud missile strikes on Kuwait city shortly before US invasion of Iraq.

The 7026 used a special kind of AF timer called the AF 22Z and included pulse wail, alternate wail, alternate steady, steady, pulse steady, and wail. And ofc had test and cancel

The siren is actually a System 7026, still made by Federal Signal®, but mounted on a shipping container, with the blower inside. The siren head is a 1003 body… which still includes the solenoids. This was a special siren shipped to 🇰🇼 Kuwait 🇰🇼 with some supplies to help in wars. However, it was sounding for SCUD missile strikes that 🇮🇶 Iraq 🇮🇶 was shooting at Kuwait City, Kuwait.

my family said that everyone taped the doors and windows to prevent any gas to leak inside and people with gas masks didn't give a F""" and prayed in mosques normally. Before iraq realised they are losing after Saudis and Americans pushing to defend the lands he had given his soldiers a last mission. it was burning all of the oil in Kuwait which had they sky completely Black in day.. theres a high quality documentary about turning off the fire. if you are interested it's named Fires Of Kuwait (yt)
