Too late😢 I’m actually in the hospital bed next to him explaining to him the importance of updating his posts on the NC700x forum . . . nurse more morphine please🤪
Interesting, didnt know linked brakes had a separate piston in the caliper, did my 750x front pads yesterday and good to see you didnt feel the need for any threadlock as I didnt go with any, but ill still check them again after couple days commuting this week. Any particular reason you went with sintered?
Very wise rechecking the fixings, can’t be to over cautious when it comes to brakes👌. The sintered pads have always given excellent performance and with a single disc system a little extra help from sintered rather than going with organic couldn’t hurt, in my opinion 🤷♂️
@bikerantics5001 went and bought replacement ALOC bolts in the week and put them in today for piece of mind, just under £3 a piece from Honda. I'll try sintered next time to compare, do around 8k a year commuting so imagine I'll be changing them again by this time next year
The only time I found the sintered pads to not feel as good was on one of my V-Stroms. I don’t think I was getting them warm enough, due to aggressively using the engine breaking, and the brakes felt a bit ‘wooden’. So I returned to organic pads and the ‘feel’ came back. In all the other bikes I’ve used them they’ve ‘felt’ good with a good progressive lever to braking force performance. The organics always seemed to need to much lever to start braking, which felt like I wouldn’t have enough lever left in an emergency, perhaps it’s just the way I ride🤷♂️.
I remember seeing Steve Thackery after his breaks failed in Hospital, and he said to tell you No No, it's 31 newtons 🤣🤣🤣🤣 great video mate 👍 🏍
