Welcome back how are you beautiful people how are you all on this glorious day ? Looking back it's been three years and I think I've only done 3 or 4 melts of slag which I certainly did not realise it was that far between so why not clear a bit of stuff off the shelves melt it down and add it to the stack. Some pretty ugly bars but always a welcome addition at all times. So sit back relax and enjoy today's video and I hope you have a great weekend and with any luck you will tune in again next Friday👊🏻😁.
welcome to the country lol I live in Western Victoria we have blackouts all the time it is a pain in the arse you need to have a generator but it's the only way sometimes it can be out 4 hours you're funny just a little slice of cake I would have eaten the whole thing I hope it was nice
Hey mate! Love your videos! I'd like to ask you where did you get all your large molds. I can't seem to find anything reasonably big for big ingots and I'm tired of using my casting sand for them 😅😅
Thank you as always buddy! Always a trip to see those two showing us what it means to "relax"... ;) Absolute legends! For all of you newer viewers: Always watch until the very end! Everytime! It's worth it. Cheers
Same here. His videos have become part of my weekly routine. And he's got his priorities right too. If a comet lands or we get a solar flare, I'd also plug the fridge with the beers in first.
Here in the states, BigStackD videos usually drop at like 2 or 3am, so it's always fun staying up real late on a Thursday just to get my melting video!
Good evening everyone of us BIGSTACKD loyalest 👊🦊✌️ What was the weight of the Nordic Gold slag prior to the remelt? What was the weight of the copper slag prior to the remelt?
You're basically one electric motor melt away! It has been inspiring watching the bigstackd operation go from humble beginnings with a small furnace and a puppy to a whole custom workshop with running space for multiple doggos. Congratulations and best of luck on the next tonne.
So much red-hot dust! Always weird seeing that for me. Also, I was wondering how long Bullion was gonna let that little gobbet of meat stay on the fence, and had a good giggle when he finally found it. 😂
You know what's weird? Keeping something totally dry in a freezer. I used to keep corn meal in the freezer to keep it fresh longer. Running your hands through it is such a strange but satisfying feeling
That day was for the birds. All that dust slag made the patriots think you were cooking chilies! Good thing you had Jenny close at hand to stop the “tragedy”. The little stand for the mold was a nice change. You all was keep me on my toes on how you will use what tool next. Thoese jar sauages looked ripe for the CNN plucking! Sweet mini bar in the vault. Just wish you hand some sweet tea to go with it. Over loaded grid is not fun . Hope the power get back on quick! Thank you for another great weekend !
Hey, BigStackD, I'm surprised you didn't install an exhaust hood in the roof of your new shed and build a melt station for your furnaces underneath it. That way you could still do melts inside when its raining outside and vent the fumes out the exhause hood! Either way, another great video! 😀👍
It is weird watching in Canada as the seasons are opposite. Saying it’s the first day of winter for you, and the start of summer for me. Cold there, hot here. Although I might say the temperature would be the same. Hint, if it’s rain, it’s not cold. If it was cold, it would be snow.
@@chrisgoater5616 if it was cold for me it would be ice shards piercing your skin because yes that happens sometimes here in finland iv literally gone outside come home and hand scratches all over my face almost blood because of how fast the icy snow flakes move
It's mostly Zinc Oxyde (white when cold, yellow when hot). Zinc starts burning on air, when heated far beyond it's melting point of ca. 440 °C. It also has a relatively low boiling temperature. Some escapes as fine dust, but the major part remains floating on the molten metal. The grey colour of the slag comes from Copper Oxyde, which is black.
Nice episode like always. And i really do appreciate you include all the currencies you do when showing the worth of your melt. its awesome being able to follow, in the most know currency to me.
Good one D! I'm having a rest day in Port Augusta so I watched last weeks and then this week after I watched CEE. Those green parrots you get on your lawn, I saw the same ones up in Darwin. Nice looking birds. We don't get those on the eastern side of the country. Keep up the good work mate! Have a great weekend.
No worries at all buddy good to see you having a fun safe ride. Yeah the parrots I have around are very loud but I don’t care the dogs do try to catch them but that’s an impossibility. They do pull all my mandarins off the tree which is annoying so I might have to put a net over that next year. Thanks again buddy I appreciate it and chat with you soon👊🏻😁
AHHHHHHHHHHHH that time again, best channel ever, get to spend some time with ingot and bullion, and the really cool guy who feeds em, and melts stuff. BEST CHANNEL EVER TY so much for content.
Dude, it's been a long time since I laughed out loud at one of your videos.....but the pup's reaction to your cake shenanigans was awesome!!! Thanks for that.
975KGS Down, 25KGS to go. You should make a Bird Sanctuary where they can fly in and out time to time so you may feed them. There are literally many types of birds visiting your house, making your home as a pit stop.
That was the funniest video you've ever posted! Damn that was good! That was an awesome bar of ng though. That copper one looked pretty decent too! Awesome video though all together! LOVED IT! 💙💙💙💜💜💜🤙🤙🤙
Wow, unbelievable, your electricity went out, here in 🇦🇷 Argentina it's unfortunately commonplace on the eve of summer and high temperatures. Wow, how much grit the foundry had, what a waste. How happy your boys were when I gave them meat. I loved the final part with that copper bar, no need to cast anything, just cut to size, sand, polish, stamp and polish and you're done. Excellent work friend, 25 kg more and goal accomplished. Big hug from 🇦🇷 Argentina 🖐🏻💪🏻
Awesome episode you know your winter is the same as our summer. What a awesome country you live in, gold, opal and sunshine (iam not jealous) catch you on the flip side big d
Man I first remember watchin you do this in your garage. It’s awesome to see you progress to where you are now! This is probably just a small part of your life to film it all but it’s fun watchin you do it!
I’m amazed how much you had trash in your slags and still continuing melting them to have an ingot of Nordic Gold Every time fascinated with your vids and love your boys And so fun with you Bigsnakd Keep it up
Happy winter... what a terrific device to preheat molds using exhaust furnace heat.! Great addition to your toolset. In a past video you mentioned needing to capture roof runoff, have you considered recycling a gently used IBC tote. They come with a nice metal cage and a valve shutoff. Speaking of cages, perhaps it’s time to fashion cages around your fruit trees to protect them from the parrots and other predators. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace brother.
It sucks when the power is out. Mine has been out for about 3 days now. We had storm blow though that knocked down a few trees and right on the power lines and blew up a few transformers. And wouldn't you know our generator didn't want start and i can't work on it due to having surgery the day the power went out
Holy smokes! Seeing all those big healthy gahlas flock to your property is amazing! I want to have one as a pet someday! It’s always satisfying to watch a slag melt! Thanks! 👍🏼
Get a ball mill crusher and crush the slag into powder. Then you can immerse it in water to separate the water solubles from the metals. There's a bunch of other cleaning methods you can try. Once your have it in powder form it's easier to store also.
Another excellent melt! And I love the doggy footage. By the way, I took apart a fan motor the other day , and when I hit that copper in the middle I was pretty pleased with myself. And thanks to you, I knew how to cut it out with my grinder. Thanks D! 😊
Mmm … that cake looked good (I’d have about same serving size too), and those sausages, yum!! Even the ‘ugly’ bars are totally rad!! Have a great rest of your weekend!! Be good BigstackD!! 😊🪙🔥💫
I really like that little baby bar, would be tempted to cut up a lot of baby bars and just melt the parts with holes in it. Greaat video as always :) Maybe next investment is solar energy?
I love these because the principle of wasting absolutely nothing is so great. Do you ever gather the micro dust that gets sucked through the fan tube when you’re grinding and polishing?
Glad for another video! I'm curious about something: Why does some slag look like marshmallow fluff, and some looks like granola? Keep it up, and here's to a tonne!
Thats å great way to make copper bars, just to chop it jo an polish!! Fun video today. I think the ruff bars are cool. To når about the boots👢👢 today . Bit it made some good noise,so you are forgiven❤🇳🇴
Thank you sir I always look forward to Friday you may not say anything but it's a pleasure watching your videos thank you for sharing this six stars brother
Honestly, I love hearing those crazy bird dinosaur m-fers! I can’t wait to visit Australia some day! Love the videos, big fan over here in California. Can’t wait to see when you reach that target! Time to make gold bars right?!
You can try aluminium plates in your mandarin trees to scare the birds away. Tie a bunch of plates in pairs with short ropes and place them in the tree so they hit each other in the wind and makes noise. Not sure if it would work for Australian birds, but I've seen it done in cherry trees around here.
Could of been worse... not havin power or Petrol/Gas in the Generator?🤨 although im wondering why you dont a mini solar generator [youtubers were promoting for awhile]...
Idk what they're called in your country but in the USA, you can get a generac which you can set up to run on natural gas as a backup generator, can power an entire house if you get a big one.

I’ll be here next Friday just for this
Only 25,000 grams still needed. "That is no step for a stepper!"
And i really wonder what he is going to do afterwards.
Friday's wouldn't be the same without my bigstackD morning tea break 😁
Yes mate we like the tea and bigstackD matey bri ish momento
Absolutely, but you gotta admit it would be a hell lot better with a nice cold beer

I'm glad to see that all those birds are still there. I thought that they might have been frightened away. Your land is beautiful.
the way the pups looked at you with the cake was worth the whole video.
Slag and dust videos are my all time favourites. Can't wait to get home and watch! Cheers
That little bar with the design in it is so cool. I’d love to get one of them in gold

And then he won't be able to do melts in the summer, bc the temperatures inside will be hellish

No effing way … I love the last bit… copper without forging… Amazing
Just the video ive wanted. Thank you! Makes my waken up at 4am in pain a little more tolerable. Love what you do, keep it coming.❤
I'm amazed at how much slag and ash you get when melting brass. I get a ton even when melting clear brass casings.
It's mostly Zinc Oxyde (white when cold, yellow when hot). Zinc starts burning on air, when heated far beyond it's melting point of ca. 440 °C. It also has a relatively low boiling temperature. Another Friday, another great BigStack melt.
These are the videos I look forward to every friday. I love this channel so much. So close to that 1,000Kg goal!
Definitely worth the wait till I got home from work to watch this
Nice 1 Stack 👍
would be interesting to see if over time the grass grows 'better' closest to the edge of the 'dust' area, from extra minerals carried by water runoff
Dude, it's been a long time since I laughed out loud at one of your videos.....but the pup's reaction to your cake shenanigans was awesome!!! Thanks for that.
It looked like they expected to get their share.
Me too. LOL about the dogs and his Lil slither!
The mold heat stand is a stellar idea! Super video as always.

As a Canadian, I fully support the intervention to save the cold beer.
Cheers
I love the birds that you have over there. They’re beautiful! I love oranges though too. What a conundrum!
30:30 is amazing what you did... keep it doing with any creative idea for your melting.. awesome fun project

A lot of rainwater is wasted. I want to see you make a rainwater collection system.
I’m amazed how much you had trash in your slags and still continuing melting them to have an ingot of Nordic Gold

I’m very curious to see if Nordic gold can be forged like brass and bronze.
I think it can. It has been used for Jewellery and fittings afterall.
A handy capable person like yourself doesn't have solar backup💥💥💥

It got me and my brother doing some smelting of our own.
Don't worry we didn't think you would be foolish and melt your own copper wiring. Now your neighbors...🇺🇸❤️🇦🇺
Still funny tho
Always love the birds that show up there. Where I live it just mostly crows.

This guy is definition on chill
Been waiting to see the Nordic slag purify
That mold heating stand is a nice innovation. May I suggest another, a large stainless steel bowl for the slag? Oh, and please don't hurt the birds.
Priority 1, keep beers cold. Amen to that!
More dog time, less slag, just the right amount of smelt. You've gained a loyal viewer, do your thing.
