Agreed! I was so surprised by the precision of vocals and the band. I’m not sure that the recording does the live performance any justice which is rare. Can’t wait to see them again.
I’m driving just over 4 hours immediately after college classes to see them in Nashville, and then drive back the same night to have a morning lecture at 9:30am 💀 I’m NOT missing on my opportunity to see them in the War of Being tour!
Awesome show, I spent pretty much the whole time pressed into the first few rows by the pit lmao. The concealing fate songs were basically a human pancake at the front.
They KILLED it in Austin, TX last night. First time seeing them and I thought they had the potential to be excellent live based on their recordings and that totally turned out to be the case.
First time I saw them was with Ashe, he nailed it pretty good. It's weird cos Dan has better range but he's not quite there with some of the Altered State songs. You're spot on about the new songs though, Dan's vocals are stunningly good, the control he has is ridiculous.

I think the difficulty with altered state is the stamina with vocals. Especially with tracks like Nocturne and Exile, I find them very demanding to sing along.
Saw them in Montreal a few weeks ago. Incredible band to see live, but honestly just for Dan. I love this band, but they have absolutely zero stage presence. Dan's vocals are incredible that he can hit the lows and highs all while live. But the rest of the band just stands in one spot and looks like statues. I understand that not every person wants to be like that, but on a stage with a band this good, you have to accept that stage presence comes with the job.
I somewhat agree, but the guitarists in technical bands tend to be somewhat stationary in my experience. Not saying everything they play is super complicated, but they’re not exactly playing, I dunno, nü metal riffs up there (no hate to that genre, I love it, but it tends to be way easier to play that sort of thing while moving, compared to the sort of thing TesseracT plays).

Legion is a better song than nocturne. War of being is better than altered state. I love altered state.

Mos is pretty active and fun to watch on stage; Acle & James are much more reserved though.
