Hi. I have a 1969 EB2DC.Got it brand new. I recall the original flat wounds were German and came in an orange box. They were 0,35-0,90 flats. Impossible to get now. I wrote to Gibson a few years ago but they were of no help. Were I live (Argentina)there’s a domestic string company that can make custom gauge strings. After getting in touch with them they suggested 0,35-0,50,070,090. I ordered them and had the bass adjusted (trussrod, bridge saddle heights, pickup height of bridge pickup and pole piece height of neck pickup )to use those strings since I was using light gauge regular wound. The difference in playability and sound is incredible. Hope this was of help
You forgot to demo the "tone switch" (the bariton switch)
Most important feature on this beast of a bass...
Nice demo though!!!
Please, what kind of strings do you advise for this bass ?
Gréât vidéo ! Thanks you
Best regards, Bruno
