@CharlyRomeo2009 it does great with golden bullet remington maybe 1 miss in 100 not so good with winchester copper hollow points jamming frequently do to bullets with loose leads getting caught on ramp maybe 1 in 20 stuck
@CharlyRomeo2009 just bought 1 about 4 weeks ago although i just found out the kits are no longer made i guess ! I even bought a threaded barrel with mine !
I would suggest a 9MM Mag also,.I have a 229 and want to convert But my 229 is my carry gun and I do not want to F with it,...... I have a 228 and the mag seems to work-in the 229,.... Have not tried to fire it and for Self-defense I want all sig parts.
You will need the slide for the 40/357 barrels, it's heavier, has a bigger breach face, the hole in the slide for the barrel is bigger and a stronger recoil spring
@@werunguns A old thread, and I am NOT A QUALIFIED GUNSMITH. , Here is what I believe to be true, Check with Sigs excellent customer service. , The 228 is a stamped slide. Not as strong a Problem with the teams IRT, this. The 229 had a very strong non stamped slide. I carry every day I Check with them (Sig CS) before doing any modes....
no, 9mm barrel is too small to convert up to 40sw. You can only convert down to 9mm from 40sw, but don't do it. one gun one caliber for 100% reliability.
good video, thank you....checking out some of your other vids and saw this one. i'm trying to find a 357 barrel for my p229 .40. every on-line Sig parts resource i use is sold out, even aftermarket (EFK Dragon) any idea where i might find one? thanks for your time!
MrMartysy We got this barrel directly from Sig. hopefully they come back in stock soon. My only other advice would be to keep searching online to see if a retailer has one. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the clear and simple video. I’m getting ready to buy one. You just helped me move forward in doing so. Lolol
So basically to configure a sig p229 40 caliber to a sig357. All you need to do is get a 357sig barrel and put it into the sig 40 gun.
Yes, it's that simple. Thanks for watching!
It took about two minutes of stoning the bottom of the feed ramp to clear the frame on mine. VERY easy, and about 99% "drop-in."
So if you have a 229 in 357 already you just have to get a sig 40 cal barrel correct?
@@budredden818 yes, mags and recoil spring are interchangeable between .357 sig and .40, all you need is a barrel swap
@@werungunswhy does my bullets get stuck when loading them
You can do this with the SP 2022 as well, with just a barrel swap.
Love the grips can’t find em anywhere
don't forget the 22lr as well !
mine i bought with the 22lr barrel and slide for cheap shooting of my p229,I believe it was 259 bucks
@CharlyRomeo2009 never had a missfire with cci stingers

Will this work with the older sigs also?
Do you have any videos on shooting with the 9 slide?
Yes I do, ruclips.net/video/SjEbNlGebVo/видео.html
Awesome video! Do you know if this also works with the p226 platform?
Seperate platform but they do have their own kits for that too
Can you go from down to up? Meaning that if the P229 is chambered in .9mm can I put a .40 S&W barrel in it or no?
Did you find out?
I’d like to know the same thing
Where did you get the nine mm slide setup from
Bob York I see a few websites that have it for $249. I believe this one however was purchased directly from Sig.
Hello, what holster are you wearing that rides so high. I've been looking for one. Thanks
Bravo Concealment. Love it!
You don’t need another slide to make it a 9mm, all you need is the barrel, recoil spring

Where did you get the grips on your 229?
I believe they came with the gun
Spring tension of the 40sw is same as 357?
Correct
Can you start with the 9mm version and convert up to 40 and 357 sig?
I don't see why not
@@werunguns what about recoil spring? Think they r the same for all 3 or a stouter one for 40 and 357?

I say no, the rule is you can go high to low , not low to high

Have you tried the 9mm barrel and spring in the 40 slide? Im really curious if it fits and works well. Thank you.
Sckarekrow cool man, thank you.
Just ran in to this problem and these comments saved me so much money, thanks boys
I know it’s been a long time but did you get an answer for this? Been wondering the same

Was that a p229 Enhanced elite you were converting or a p229 40 cal non CA compliance
Daniel san miguel it’s the Elite model
Not rocket science.
Yeah that’s a whole other topic.
