DESCRIPTION
The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS is an incremental upgrade to the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS and is practically identical in appearance. It still incorporates two completely different screens bonded together and dynamically switched through Layered Display Technology. This allows for super low power consumption when the LCD screen is active (looks like your old digital watch) and a vivid color OLED screen for active use of the watch. Together they insure you can always see the time, indoors or out, bright or dark.
New features unique to the TicWatch Pro 3 and Pro 3 Ultra GPS smartwatches:
* Enhanced Processor - Wear OS by Google™ smartwatch to use the Qualcomm® Snapdragon Wear™ 4100 Platform in a dual processor configuration.

Great review! Can you swim in open water with this watch?
Yes you can! Avoid salt water and hot water (like hot showers). Otherwise it should be OK for swimming.
After a lot of research into buying my first smart watch this was finally my choice....but alas, right before I was about to purchase I found out that you can not even wear it in the shower even though its suppose to be IP68 water resistant...bummer, back now to square one.
Great information, although I’m an iPhone and other Apple product user, I dislike the Apple Watch square face design. I have been waiting for a watch that offers heart defib information and that is waterproof for pools. The other extra features such as Bluetooth phone connectivity are great too, I’m leaning towards the Ultra. Thanks Mr Ticks!!
Thanks for watching and having an open mind to think outside the 'box' design of an Apple Watch. All these years and only one shape. So sad. There's a huge variety beyond the Apple ecosystem, and the Ticwatch line is a trailblazer of new, exciting features.
Thanks for the review. Does the compass still work on your watch? After updates Mobvoi removed that functionality. At least I can't see it on my watch. Highly dissapointed :(

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, you can shower in pease, but not too hot for the water. Steam still might get in if water doesn't, so be careful with that. The compass Easter Egg find is only on the ULTRA. You see in the video at the beginning that I run the Compass app on both watches and it doesn't work on the non-ULTRA one. I sure hope they keep it as part of the ULTRA. I'm worried future product runs might leave it out, especially for the ones with 4G LTE capability. Nobody knows at this point. We aren't even supposed to know about the compass as all! It's not listed in the specs or product literature, so they can remove it if they want.
I've been using this for the past 2 weeks, The pedometer does not work accurately as it uses hand movements to calculate so in your sleep you end up doing over 1000 steps, google maps not fully working, if you have 24hr sensors on then some functions don't work and loads of other various bugs
Your recommending not to buy? Have any of the issues you mentioned been resolved through updates or contacting the manufacturer? Any other new issues? tia!!

how was the google maps function? I plan on swapping my Fitbit versa for this so I can use maps on a motorbike
@@ReeceCoza I returned the watch within 4 weeks, the google maps hardly ever worked and when it did, it would take more than 10 minutes to lock on to your location

Do you know if you can tell the Ultra what time your going to bed and have it track stats, and what stats they may be .. between going to bed and actually going to sleep.. I do no know of any of the ticwatch's that can do this.. the Galaxy 4 can.. A video of this would be great this is a huge issue for us older folks.. Thks

Doesn't the watch4 LTE already work like that, an electric sim that connects to your existing plan for an extra $5 a month?

Thank you for this video! I live in Finland, will it work if buy that new , just Ultra from Germany and ship it in here, since we don't have that ultra yet here, we only have that ultra gps. I have considered buying this watch and changing the wristband to something like that Ultra has, but if I can get it now straight away, I think I will get it that way.
I doubt it will work in your country until it is officially released for Finland. It would need to be able to connect to a compatible carrier for you to get service. It would be best if you try and get an answer from Mobvoi directly. Please let us know if it will work for you!

Mobvoi deactivated the compass due to "incompatibility with other apps"

11:56 where do we get this Astronomy watch face? Is it built in?
That's actually a Compass app for WearOS installed on the watch through the Google Play Store app already on the watch. After it is installed, it is possible to add the display as an actual watch face! Remember, the compass is only on this Pro 3 Ultra GPS, and it's a beta test thing, not advertised as a feature. It's definitely not on the original Pro 3 GPS as I installed it and tested it. Doesn't work there.

The Google Play Store is an installed app on your watch! No need for a link, just find the icon and launch it on your watch with your watch tethered to your phone and/or with the watch connected on WiFi. Use your Google login and search on 'compass' for example.
