This channel has the potential to push up the quality of smartwatches as it makes people more aware of what they are buying. I wonder, how is it possible for Apple to be able to make a product so superior to the others? As an android user, I'm on a relentless search for a smartwatch at least comparable, but I haven't found any so far.

After a firmware update my Huawei Watch Fit seems quite good at BP and SPO2, with SPO2 constantly reported 1 - 3 % lower against a fingertip meter. It is sensitive to positioning or being too loose on the arm, though.
The sleep recording seems wildly off. The stress level indicator is of toy value only.
For the asking price it is good and beats a number of expensive show-watches.
(Note, there is a massive amount of data going to Huawei.)

I loved that watch handoff on the intro!!! So good! The screen tech in here looks interesting. At some point the Ticwatch is going to figure out how to nail the heart rate, gps and sleep tracking and it's going to be a very competitive watch. Thanks for the video!

Thanks Matt! Indeed, the screen tech is pretty cool. If they figure out at least the heart rate, I think it could already be worth it for many people. Haha, the hand-off is indeed something I am introducing in more videos, though pulling it off by myself took a bit of thinking ;-)

The data you collected seem to be a lot less accurate, for the wearer, than all the other fitness watch reviewers. But I suppose I agree with most of what you said. I still like my ticwatch pro 3, just can't really rely on the health or fitness tracking. Although I find the heart rate tracking to be good enough, and still probably the best on wear os. And frankly I really like the lcd review. Going to be a while until we get a good wear os fitness watch though.

Huawei GT3- does not pair with android phones at all. iPhone pairing is also not stable.

Thanks for that video. Mobvoi marketing for TicWatch devices is quite aggressive. It makes sense since Mobvoi has neither the name of Samsung nor its flagship status in the WearOs ecosystem. But in the end, those TicWatch products are still expensive even if you're sure to get one with a discount of almost 100 Canadian dollars for a Pro3 Ultra GPS. It's basically in the same price range as Galaxy Watch4 devices.
I've noticed some bad comments from consumers under Facebook ads, but now I know the sensors' quality range doesn't match with the devices' price range.

Seem very near performance, gps, sleep tracking, spO2 etc. The diference are the huawei are more basic in comparaison but 126$ less. Soo until the 12 september I still testing both date at which I will return one of it. Sooo still not decided.

Interested to see if the Amazfit TRex 2 has fixed their accuracy issues? Their GTR 4 has also just been announced. Huawei Watch GT4 is also expected soon. Not to mention the elusive Pixel Watch......

I'm not using it for sports though..

Hey man, I watched your vids about smartbands, my number 1 searching is best sleep tracking and possibility to wake up in light stage (planned to do it with one time paid app Sleep As Android app, unfortunatelly it doesnt show possibility of using fitbits), I know you tested bunch of them and you probably will say that Fitbit charge 4 and inspire 2 are best arround 100$, but what I should choose arround that price 100$ but not fitbit. I read that smart wake is for fitbit premium and that would cost me another smartband price every year. The second thing is that these fitbits are just old, I know in smartwatches 1-2 years difference is a big gap, I dont know how about smartbands but probably its the same about sensor quality or sensor generation. You have any idea which way I should go?

I had the Ticwatch, but returned it after finding it very inaccurate and the data all but usless. Instead I have stayed with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, which I feel is more accurate and provides better data for the average non technical person can use to adjust their sleep patterns

    • @TheQuantifiedScientist

Hi Ted! What data was most inaccurate for you?

    • @tedlennox4365
      @tedlennox4365 2 года назад

Unfortunately most of the Ticwatch data was un usable and 2 of the 5 nights it did not work at all. I measure the readings during a sleep clinic over 2 nights. Ticwatch routinly failed to even start tracking my sleep until after midnight..Mobvoi simply said their algorithms were not capable of tracking MY sleep ... I offered to do whatever they needed to change their algorithms, but their approach was to give me 30% discount for me to keep the device.. this was unacceptable.

@@TheQuantifiedScientist I've mainly tested it for sleep and light running, but, I am not the only one who's been matching whatever medical devices we have laying around, when I bought this watch, I read multiple reviews talking about sensors specifically, and well while it's not perfect, it certainly has been fairing better, maybe the silicone strap that E3 comes with makes it more reliable than those leather straps on 3 PRO models🤔
