This is that place I was telling you about. Their compound was off the corner there off the flat. They would steal cars and dump them off the corner there down below. There was a guy that went down there in I think 2016 and he found tons of stuff tools, Cars even believed to be human remains *That was clickbait* I'm glad you made it here. I suggested this a bit ago. I wish you and I could get together and do Malibu canyon. One spot right off the road where three cars are below the road on a trail one of them is newer 2021. I remember hearing about a place below with a rattlesnake den. Maybe not the same location. They had a compound off the corner and you could see them all along the road below. Adam the woo went down there one time. There is a actual trail down through there as well as a spot where the family used to hangout and there is actual photos of them as well. There is several documentary on this location as well online with the police raid and such.
If you can look at the vin on the the beatle . under the front trunk of car.youwill see the vin number on it.. go to the DMV and have them run the numbers on it...??🤔😄
My comment is l remember one of the thousands of times going through that canyon a co worker was driving at night too fast God heard my prayers thank you for going down the canyon love that area peace.
That engine block,3970010 is a popular 350ci chevy engine from the early 70’s,that supposedly has a high nickel content and used to be sought after by engine builders.i have two myself.
THEY NEVER FOUND SHORTY SHAY HE WAS A HORSE TENDER IN THE MANSON CAMP 😮😮 HE ALWAYS WORE A OLD COWBOY HAT HE WOULD LET YOU RIDE A HORSE FOR 50 CENTS!!!😊
3970010 is a pretty common 350 cubic inch casting number, could even be a Mexican cast GM aftermarket block. There should be stamped numbers on the front of the block on the right side (passenger side) on a flat machined area in front of where the right side head would mount, right above the water pump bolt holes and water passage. Those letters and numbers would tell you what the application was. If the block has been decked or machined, it may not have any numbers there, as that would have been removed in the process. Cool vid, man! Keep up the great stuff, and stay safe!
My neck of the woods where I lived for 40 yrs. Right up the street from the former Ranch, maybe. Would not be surprised I almost rolled my VW BAJA Bug on that road. California Condor.
That last truck cab you found looks to me like a 60's GM truck, like 60-66 maybe. I say that based on the accent line across the rear of the roof line.
That truck cab near the VW Beetle looks to me like a Ford, like 66-72 or so? Too bad you couldn't get closer, but with those bees, I totally understand. I hate getting stung!
@reverserockettv007 I've been watching, just not much to say if I don't have any good ideas on what kind of car/truck you've found. Just lurking I guess. Lol.
I heard that the Barker Ranch in Death Valley has a pile of what's left of their other vehicles VW bugs, Jeep FC150 cab and the remains of the other Dodge power wagon and the dune buggies they had, some people say that there are the remains of the famous 1959 Mercury.
A GM #3970010 could be a 1968 Chevrolet 327 CID V8 or a 1969-1979 Chevrolet 350 CID V8. Other numbers are needed to determine what it is, including the numbers stamped on the engine pad at the front. The four door car was probably a 1970s as it had the VIN on the dash (you can see where it was riveted), it had side marker lights (indicative of late 1960s and up). You didn't get a good view of the back to really tell.
Come out to Apple Valley we got another Manson hideout with cars out here too. Off of Hwy 18 Rt66 theres a bunch too out in Mojave River by Victorville.
I'm guessing from the terrain you're near Spahn's Movie Ranch rather than Barker Ranch. That VW body appears to have the chassis underneath it. Since making a dune buggy involves removing the body so what you found seems like a mostly intact bug. It would be nice to get the GPS coordinates for the VW.
The end of the video gives you exactly where I filmed the video. But here is the exact location. This is within feet of the vw (34.2696609, -118.6306175)
Here's a stash for you to check out Mulholland Drive we used to race the canyon the canyon below was loaded with dumped and crashed cars .Coldwater canyon to Mulholland go left .just past what the called they grandstand if you go past skyline Dr you went to far.
Finding any dumped car(s) belonging to someone who was a member of the group, if not Manson himself, up in that area does not surprise me at all. The movie 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' was filmed up there at the old Manson compound. In a place like L.A. where time changes everything, there are a few places still captured in time. Those low-lying mountains where the Manson compound used to be haven't changed dramatically.
I think the car underneath was older than the other one. No great loss on the bee truck it was so grown in even if you went to it there wouldn't be much to see.
Are these parts far away from each other? Could some belong to each other. In the passed maybe some people tried to pull something and gave up. I mean the cars didn't land there as partial as they are now.
I believe there was a road on the other side and they could have been possibly pushed off? The roads are no longer there and they are grown in now over the time.
