- This is the first video in the full detailing series of my E46 ZHP. I've had this car for several months and it was time to get it up to standard! The first things I like to do are the dirtiest parts of the car like the engine bay, undercarriage, wheels, jams, etc.

Coming along nicely 👍 .Not a bad idea to blow-out the bay to dry, especially the electrical connectors, alternator, etc. Also helps to run the engine a bit.
I forgot to film that part! I like to blow dry the engine bay with my Ego blower, then I do Solution Finish and Perl
Really helpful information and techniques. I never let my engine bay get this dirty, but your tips will come in handy. With all those different chemicals, if you detail a lot you may consider Nitrile gloves while you work (read that sentence using your mom’s voice) Great video!
I laughed while reading this in my mom's voice lol.
The windshield cowl is a SUPER easy cheap easy fix. It's worth doing. I did mine in like 20 min. The wiper arms aren't too difficult to remove either.
You can definitely ceramic coat over solution finish to make it last, looks pretty good tho. Love my ZHP 🤙🏼
What a steal for $4k!
Great video! Learned something new. AND, great deal for the ZHP! Seriously thinking about getting one for myself soon!
I still find it funny how the e46 is what I’m most hyped for...Doesn’t make sense, you have a M3
Especially since your profile is GT3 GT3 RS haha
Great demonstration of the solution finish. I thought it was just a trim coating - hadn't realised it was also a dye.
No problem with electrical parts of engine ? You remove battery cable ?
Nice work! E46 is looking better and better
I noticed that condensation in the indicator. Hope to see that addressed in a future video. Great video man!
Yeah that’s been like that since I bought it. I’ll definitely have to look into it
Did you clean your e39 engine bay this way? I want to do so on mine but just cant get over the fear of spraying water in there
lmao ive sprayed a little water on the engine on every car i have ever washed. and i used to work for honda and toyota. so thousands of cars. never one problem. just dont spray a hot engine and dont spray the alternator. and be conservative. dont just douse it.
did you just spray the engine bay without covering anything? Nevermind you answered my question in the video haha
The steering fluid reservoir has a weeping hole on the side of the lid. It will continue to leak through (I guess it's what it is supposed to). Changing the O ring won't help much I fear. But definitely nothing wrong with this.
Turned out great! I need to do this on the E46 I’m putting an engine in on my channel. Its been sitting outside a few years so it’s pretty nasty with rodents nests.
Is it safe though ? I have N42B20A engine .
Wait when you detail a zhp it's okay if u get the engine wet? He pressure washed it, I was told not to but does anyone know different? It's it okay for my car?
just be smart about it...cover up anything that you're concerned about getting wet.
I cant imagine having engine bay this dirty unless its a work truck lol, I clean the bmw under the hood with every regular wash I do which is twice a month
jo i just bought my first car. A e46 and the engine bay is filthy af. Is it safe to clean the engine bay with water and foam ?
@@andreasrajngard1686 no... Dont be idiot and spray water in engine bay like this guy
Need to detail my engine bay, did you really only pay $4k? How many miles and man What a steal even at high mileage
Yeah the seller didn’t really know what he had. It has 115k miles, great service history
I got my 2004 ZHP for $5400 with 125k. What a steal
Scared to do this on my e92
just do the underside of hood first and blow off with compressed air and pat with microfiber.
Im scared to do this but my engine bay is like this in my N54 powered bmw. I would probably cover the alternator and the air intakes. If anyone has any other tips let me know.
Make sure ur coils are closed so no water gets to ur plugs
not really necessary to cover it up. but if that helps you sleep at night... the only thing to worry about is spraying water on a hot engine. and dont flood it. water can splash alternators and be just fine
this is my dream car
10thousand 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Give it a couple weeks and wait for the misfires
I've done this on dozens of cars without misfires
