- Louie Evans has become a Boston legend by riding around the city on his tricycle and yelling what some people call a "siren noise." Who is he? Why does he ride? Interviews with the employees of Back Bay Bicycles, the store that does complimentary repairs for Louie's bike, and Louie himself outline the mysterious 'trike rider's life as a dedicated bicyclist and as a compassionate, misunderstood person.

Thanks to those who worked & contributed to this video. My family saw him biking on that gorgeous day, March 20th in Back Bay/South End around 5pm. No more than 8:30pm, he was biking through Haymarket. Since that moment, he has captivated us & peaked out interest . Your documentary made us better understand his situation & for THAT, we thank you!!
I was a student at Berklee and I used to see him around all the time...even from the classroom, hearing his "sound". Seeing him around again means that spring is coming
talked to Louie on the phone today... he says he likes the elevator in his new apartment building and hates this weather. best dude ever!
Louie currently lives in a 24-hour staffed group home with four other individuals. He would still to ride his bike, but has been incapacitated by some underlying medical complications, causing him to lose his muscle strength. Though he's still working on regaining his strength, there is no time table as to when or if he would ever able to ride his bike again. Louie ' s spirit, though, remains just as high as when he was riding his bike, especially because he has a great team of staff that provides quality care for him.
Hope he gets back on the bike soon. Missed seeing him around. He's a part of Boston. Not the same without him.
This is really cool. I knew next to nothing about this guy and was captivated for the whole video. Great job!
awesome! i've been wondering more about this guy! you should make a video of that weird asian woman that walks down hemenway staring into a mirror 24/7
props..mad props to the ppl who take time to understand and help him out
i haven't seen louie riding around in a long time. hope he's doing alright. i've worked various jobs in the back bay, and if you saw or heard him, nothing bad could happen that day. a louie sighting instantly makes the day better.
Missing home, came here first.
wow - wonderful, guys. really offered a lot of insight into who louie is. thank you!!
Great documentary but if you guys understand what he says you shouldve put some subtitles. Not trying to make fun of Louie at all but Id honestly be interested in knowing what his responses were to some of the questions where I couldnt understand him. Louies a legend!
This is really a great documentary on Louie. Nice work.

I remember visiting boston and I hear this guy yelling and riding something, so I guess it was him, I was cracking up
cool piece. i'd love to know what he does for work or where he lives. made me more curious about his life.
Is he still alive.??
I love you guys. This makes me want to do all my business with you.
now i know his name
I would like to know what the Chili Guy's actual story is and what he's currently doing.
I wonder if he ever gets hassled by the cops for riding on the sidewalk or for being loud? I'm not trolling, I'm honestly curious of he ever has those problems.
He shouldn't be on the sidewalk, especially with a bike that wide
