The Chotos Monegrinos. Sigena (Huesca)

The 'Chotos monegrinos' have been part of the livestock landscape of the Monegros region. Formerly, these animals were used to guide goat flocks to Sobrarbe and Ribagorza, in the High Pyrenees of Huesca.
Through the concourse of Chotos has helped to preserve this ancient tradition. Preventing the goat from disappearing from the cereal areas of the Ebro valley.
It is a heterogeneous goat population in which formerly predominated races such as caspolina, pirinaica, maellana and populations of white goats of the celtiberian trunk.
