People tend to forget that if you treat others reasonably they mostly do the same, or do better. It is always a minority, which are troublemakers and unreasonable.
But you are right, if one only learns about different places from news stories. The logic about news is such that the bad news are more news worthy and have higher priority than the good news or news which describe normal life.

It's by design. They have been telling lies about West Africa for over 50 years to keep everyone at bay so the French and the British would have all the recourses in there to themselves. Chinese has exposed them, that's why the skyline in Africa are changing rapidly. Hence, the hate towards China from these two countries.

Hallo Noraly, Lucia hier. 🎉

Truly amazing in every way. You have reached the end of the island and you find somebody that has made it his mission for 10 years to stop the beach errosion. And talk about riding skills. Take on a passenger to ride narrow bridges with no railings in most spots and pass within inches of donkey carts. As many of the comments have said; your willingness to learn the language, to smile at all you encounter makes people open their doors for you and they want to help you find your way. Keep up the great videos.

Noraly has been helped by many & returns the favour as seen here & in other past videos. Noraly has transported her motorcycles in canoes in past adventures & here again to get on & off this island. She has put her motorcycle in a basket to overcome a cliff face & avoid possible threatening areas. Another great ride with helpful people overcoming challenges en route. Thanks for another awesome ride.

Noraly, You have this ability to take charge of all situations without the people knowing it. They come to you knowing what you are doing is good. Your showing the world all the goodness that is everywhere! I’m not great at explaining, people NEVER FIND YOU A THREAT. Just the opposite! Your smile your classic laugh! So good.❤️

The shells are slippery because they are flat-ish plates sliding on plates? The vastness of this atmosphere to sea shell carbon storage is so huge and green and amazing. The beach-stabilizing project…inspiring. What a wonderful peaceful place! Thanks for two-wheel-pioneering through such an interesting delta.

Fascinating video! An over-100-year-old man living on a remote island with family is wonderful to see; and the ongoing sand-recovery project is simple yet fantastic in its effectiveness. It seemed many people stared at Noraly as an unusual sight - now we know a motorbike is a rarity!😀

Seems so friendly there. Beach projects are needed in many places. There’s one place I go to at the Jersey shore that used to only flood during extreme high tides (not storm related). Now every high tide it floods. This change only took about five years. Now there’s a major rebuild going on. I’m learning a lot from you and Myron Cook about geology and ecosystems. Safe travels Noraly.🌲

An immediate thumbs up👍 What an amazing day of exploration around the delta, meeting some very friendly locals, once again the drone footage puts where you are into perspective by showing us the remoteness of that biosphere and how to get there and the efforts they are making to fight the rising sea and you were the first motorcyclist there. Bravo Noraly, another wonderful video.

Many thanks for a great example of bioengineering for beach erosion. These are important jobs for a climate budget with added social benefits. The alternative would cost exponentially in cement and heavy machines with drawbacks for biodiversity. The Texas City dike for example is a 5 mile (8km) artificially contructed pier that protects the houston ship channel and low-lying communities from hurricane incursions

Islands of Saloum delta with so many goats and shells. You are such a plain Jane among the colorfully garbed women of the islands. Love seeing you and the island from the drone is so special, thank you. New experiences with Alaska in the sand should help in future sand situations. Enjoyed the very long narrow bridge ride. Surprise meeting a cordial white Frenchman beach erosion mitigator. 👍 ❤

I've ridden in various soils & sands. At the 12 minute mark, you said it was different to negotiate. Sands can vary too. Some are grittier than others. Hold water better for sand-castle making. Under magnification/enlargement some are very fine & round vs jagged. They tend to dry quickly & make for loose, shifty riding conditions. Hence, the quick erosion occuring vs other beaches.

I'm sure you are changing the definition of adventure.
This is the second or third time Alaska has been the first motorcycle to visit "where no motorcycle" has been before.
Take care and stay as "cool" as possible Noraly.

You have a good knack for communicating with people. Alaska has really come through getting you through the desert. Happy trails and stay safe!
