I know a lot of people love the exotics like purpleheart, wenge, cocobolo, etc. But I just love cherry. I love everything about it. The way it looks, how it machines, the smell of it, how beautiful it looks with a nice finish, it's just amazing. Plain maple too.
Nice video! Thanks for the heads-up comparison of the 2 methods! My favorite woods to carve are walnut and sapele. Sapele can have some pretty spectacular flame to it, depending on the cut. They both carve like butter and finish great. I also like hard maple and cherry. Maple used to be my go-to, but I've been doing a lot more cherry projects here lately.
I love walnut, and have done several projects with it, but I've never used Sepele. I've seen it in several projects online, as well as seeing it at Woodcraft. I'll put it on the list!!
Great video. Always enjoy watching. I like the first method for doing name puzzles. Usually have to add a little allowance for space for piece to come out but works great. Method two is definitely better for inlays. And the bandsaw made me very nervous at first too. haha
Hello, it's nice to meet your channel, I've reviewed your videos, I have a question, is there an option in V Carve Pro, or the Shop Saber software, for my cnc machine to do a vaccum cleaning on the plant after performing a project? I also have a big question, how do I configure V Carve Pro, or Shop Saber, to keep the same configuration when I have to make many cuts the same.
Regarding question 1, I'm not sure what you're asking. Regarding question 2, if I understand what you're asking, you can simply duplicate the shapes, then repeat the toolpaths as many times as needed.
I see you have Lightburn installed and in your link tray at the bottom of your screen. I use Lightburn for my Cad Design? Please explain thge workflow using Lightburn. Thank You!!!! Dan
I'm a retired machinist, and so, what's wrong with the small radius? The letter is still the same font with an ever so slight radius in the corners. I would've purposely made the Male letter with the same corner radius as the Female pocket has.
"I'm gonna keep calling them make and female, because I know it will make someone mad. And that makes me laugh." 🤣 It always amazes me people get offended about that when we're literally talking about inanimate objects and have used this type of terminology for decades for screws, plugs etc. Lol
I liked your video. I just was a little worried about your fingers there by the band saw. But we're men we could handle it. I have seen other people just reattaching to their CNC and let the CNC cut it off. Anyway, good video
Good point! I didn't feel that I was too close, but I'm new to a bandsaw, so you could be right. You're correct that I could have just cut it out on the CNC, which I hadn't thought about. Good call.
