If everyone on the side of an issue could engage in dialogue with the decorum and class that Tom does, we would be a much more civil society. Any more people are not interested in speaking in facts or original thought, but instead are only interested in promoting their "side" by belittling the other side. The indoctrination by the elitists has been a complete success.

This interview's legendary now. I'd never seen it before. Major kudos to Selleck for his calm in the face of O'Donnell's shrill, boorish, rude behavior. Every time Tom tried to reply she interrupted him and continued to do this throughout. That kind of crap is fine for the likes of a Rush Limbaugh show or any show on FOX (O'Reilly or a Hannity) or a Bill Maher show, as interrupting and shouting over each other and insulting their guests are de rigueur (and rational, thoughtful people avoid those shows, liberal or conservative).
But Tom was there to discuss his and his fellow actors' new movie and O'Donnell chose to be rude to her guest. He couldn't get a word in edge-wise and the obvious sense of exasperation he had with her rudeness and the futility in trying to talk "with" her (where each party allows the other to state their case WITHOUT boorish interruption) was so very evident on his face. Yet throughout he remained civilized and a gentleman to her uncivilized boor.
No wonder she has the reputation she does now and why she just was fired from The View. She just can't play well with others. Once again, major kudos for the incredible restraint and good grace of Tom Selleck, one of the very few really decent, civilized, people in the entertainment industry,

Rosie O’Donnell has one big regret.
Days before the launch of “The Rosie Show” on the struggling OWN network, the controversial talk-show host says she is still kicking herself over a famous, televised ambush of Tom Selleck.
“In hindsight, if I had to redo [it], I would do it differently,” she admits.
He is “a kind man, who, for the rest of his life, has to be associated with me and that one event.”
Don't need to worry about Tom, he didn't come off as the pushy raving lunatic...(or maybe THAT is what you really regret)...

In hindsight, I like the idea of celebrities not using daytime TV (or even late-night TV) as a softball interview to plug their upcoming project. We all know Late Night TV used to have very engaging conversations and debates, and now everything has been dumbed down. This was actually a fascinating discourse, and, agree or disagree; I give Tom credit for handling it with such grace and patience.

She knew exactly what she was going to do. She planned that attack on him. Guess what Rosie? There are mass murders carried out by a person with a sword. There are mass murders carried out by a person who builds a bomb and parks it right next to a building in Oklahoma. There are mass murders done by a person driving a truck into a crowd of people! You really think that banning certain guns is going to stop anything??? The only thing that banning guns will do is make the good and honest people vulnerable because they won't have any way of protecting themselves. Your thinking is completely illogical. What we need is a much better mental health system in our country!
