I trained at the Muangsurin camp in 1991 and 1992. Namphons right kick was enormously powerful. You could really hear the sounds of his right kick. The sound from the pads and bags when he kicked was different from other thaifighters. The sound was higher , more explosive...like "boom!!".I also trained some clinchfighting with him , but my feeling was that he didnt show his real strenght and skill, he didnt has to, he did it very friendly. He was a very nice person.

Nampon died on September 19th 2016 after a long battle with lung cancer and tuberculosis. He was only 47-years-old.

basically very one-sided taekwando fighter, never using hands as weapon, dont like his style , If you take a close look at wangchannoi, oley, boonlay,namkabuan and the number of other brilliant golden era fighters - they all had impressive boxing technics, so its all about being all-rounded
