That Nathan Fillion reaction gif for that reply tweet is probably the most appropriate response the ex 343 dev could give, with Nathan Fillion being Buck from ODST. Really sucks that so many ideas got pitched but didn’t get green lit. And now with Helldivers 2 already coming off as a success, an attempt to make that pitched ODST game would just be another example of 343 “following trends” like always. I feel bad for those ex 343 devs.
No. They weren't. They should have been for the last 15 years, but they weren't. And now they and microsoft get to sit and watch someone else succeed with something that should've been a damm layup for them.
It's upsetting that they turn down so many ideas, and though Halo infinite is in a good spot now for the most part.. aside for recent things like the battle passes getting changed where credits are taken out and we don't have any ability to earn, price increases.. etc, but anyway, point here is.. they should try more risks moving forward. They don't need to oversaturate, but maybe allow other trusted studios to take a swing, outsource, whatever they gotta do. I think they should try to make that Halo ODST Helldivers 2 styled game, that could be another great genre for Halo to try out. This was hard to take for sure, but I think this all getting out is actually good for us and franchise.. it's gotta be starting conversations with the higher-ups for sure, so let's let them know we're interested.
I'm glad this ain't Halo. I hate 343 bc I love Halo, buying Helldivers 2 is a slap in the face to 343 which they deserve. The only good thing 343 ever did was making us have the ability to play the Bungie's Halos on Steam and pissing off devs enough to leave and create Helldivers 2. I enjoy HD2 and playing it might make 343 wake up a bit and maybe actually produce a good Halo for once.
Halo wars was good for what it was. But when it first came out I was a little disappointed. Only because I assumed and thought it was going to be halo's very own version of star wars battlefront and was so hyped. But being young I didn't exactly do my research to see that it was actually an RTS. Went into the game thinking halo wars would be halos version of battlefront. Nonetheless it would be so sick if we got a halo version of battlefront
I mean, you wonder who was in on those meetings, since Hell"divers" sounds a whole lot like Hell"jumpers" (which are ODST) -- plus the player aesthetic is very ODST-like. Obviously the gameplay is more Starship Troopers than Halo, but that doesn't strike me as a difficult tweak to line up.
Let me point something out. Based on how Bungie fanboys are, I see why they thought it was too ambitious. Everytime 343 does ANYTHING new or different, the fanboys complain. When they made Spartan Ops, they complained. When they made Spartan abilities, they complained. Halo 5 had a shit story but the gameplay was the best Halo has ever seen. And yes, the fanboys complained because.......it was more challenging to kill smarter players in pvp and because you didn't have to go grab power ups besides overshield and invisibility. That's why we got downgraded spartans in Infinite. We don't have a odst/helldiver game because more than half the Halo community is stupid and doesn't want anything new. I wouldn't do shit either if that was the audience I was working with.

Honestly I would be happy if they did a sonic mania situation give a fan studio the rights to halo and let them make the next one
I'll take anything lmao
Microsoft would never go for that unfortunately
i would love a halo game prior to the covenant attacks, have it start during the insurgency
