So excited for SMSMS! Love the colors. We were going thru some of my mother in law’s stuff and found some old egg dying packs. My sister in law thought I was nuts for wanting them. Little did she know 😂
Why is lactose and sorbitol in food dye? I get that the tablets are for eggs, but why sweeten the dye? (I can't find a good answer on google because of the search terms I'm using.)
My best guess is to help with the consistancy of the dry tablet, maybe so it isn't very crumbly? But I honestly have no idea. I imagine the life of a food scientist would be pretty fun.

Loved this. The colours are gorgeous. I have found bath tablets here in Australia but they are only in 3 colours. So mixing is experimental!
Mixing would be fun! I'm assuming you have a red yellow and blue (or maybe a pink)
Red 33 is a synthetic petroleum dye used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Seems to give a lovely hue.
The color is pretty, not as vibrant as the other reds we're used to, though.
