    Hi! Hope you guys enjoy this video 🌿🌿
    *Update on the results,*
    one year after, the yellow colour from the onion skins and the turmeric is still strong and bright, but the colour from the rose tea and red forest tea had shifted into grey. Before _bundle dyeing_ a final fabric, I recommend testing the dyeing material to see how long it will last on the fabric.

    Para fijar el color se puede usar semilla de aguacate ( palta) en trozos pequeños y en agua caliente con sal.

    • @CasaCaribe
      @CasaCaribe  2 месяца назад

      Hola, tienes razon la semilla de aguacate es rica en Taninos, los taninos ayudan a fijar el color, pero en vez de sal de cocina yo recomiendo usar sales de aluminio como potasio de aluminio o acetato de aluminio, para lograr colores mas duraderos 💚 gracias

    have you ever tried dyeing with red wine? Wondering if they are dyes or more of a stain? Read that they can be rich with tannin but not entirely sure. Would love to hear from you if you already tried! ☺️

    • @CasaCaribe
      @CasaCaribe  3 года назад +3

      Hi Nicole, Thank you for your comment,
      I dyed with red wine ones, when I was in the university, it was an experiment and the colour didn't last for long; ( I used cotton fabric but didn't use mordant)
      You are correct, wine is rich in tannins, so theoretically you can use it to pretreat the fabric, but I think if used as a dyestuff, the colour will fade, is more consider a stain, like most of the berries and grapes.
      Of course, this is just what I think, now I would love to try it again with a mordant fabric and test the results! 😊 💚

    Hi, earlier I saw your pre modrant video in that you boiled and dried, here you used wet fabric. So, after pre modrant directly can we use for bundle bath? Or should we leave for over night before bath

    • @CasaCaribe
      @CasaCaribe  3 года назад +1

      Hi
      Yes! after mordant you can use the fabric wet to bundle dye, here in the video I use the fabric right after mordanting.
      If you mordant and let the fabric dry, you should let the fabric soak overnight in tap water before bundle dyeing.
      :) Thanks and good dyeing!

      Hi! That's a really good question; you can mordant the fabric with different mordanting agents, homemade iron water is one of them.. It will make the colour to bond with the fabric so you will have long lasting colour; but bare in mind that with iron water you will have more darker and brownie colour 😋 for example if you dye with marigold flowers you will get green instead of yellow, thanks and happy dyeing 💚

      @@CasaCaribe Oh thank you for the info. I recently learnt that myrobalan (Terminalia chebula) can also be used as a mordant. It alters the fabric color too. But, im not going to dye them.
      I'm planning to make some earth & plant pigments, add some natural binder and paint my cotton tote with them, for which pre-treating the tote with myrobalan tea/ iron water will act as a mordant I thought.

Iron Water, en español agua de hierro, es una sustancia que se utiliza para mordentar o para cambiar el color en el teñido natural. se crea poniendo varios tornillos de hierro en un vaso de vidrio con dos tazas de agua y una de vinagre. luego los tornillos se dejar reposar por varias semanas hasta que el agua se llene de pequeñas particulas de hierro. en este video puedes ver mejor como se crea y como se utiliza. ruclips.net/video/MUKkIl2VY4k/видео.html&feature=emb_imp_woyt&ab_channel=CasaCaribe
