One thing I was thinking of with the bottle and ice dyeing is perhaps you could layer the dye a little in the yarn hank and then add the ice. I bet it would be a bit different effect. Just curios. The stand I'm using is one I got years ago for holding silicone candle moulds. The closest I've found online now is metal wax melt/burner stands. Something like this might work: suppliesforcandles.co.uk/product/black-wax-burner-on-silver-stand?gclid=Cj0KCQiAsburBhCIARIsAExmsu74PyWdPgqTWlbgE0FmxDd0Q9o9v9IY0KyjJN40ZjkhdQ3ot-RSwJQaAqjMEALw_wcB As long as the dish the wax is melted in is removable, I'd think it would work for this ice dyeing method.

I have always wondered why people don't but a yarn in the bottom for a second dye lot.
I always try to use up as much dye as possible. That extra skein is always fun and unpredictable.
