I still remain surprised that nobody talks about the other 2 Easter eggs in 3rd strike. They're more obscure because it's only talked about in Japan, but are still cool regardless. In the arcade version of SF3, you can find a tiny doraemon sprite hidden in the ceiling of Gill's stage. In the ps2 port of 3rd strike, the raging demon Kanji is hidden in Ken's stage during training mode, it requires akuma and ken for it to work.
honestly i have to give tjem props considering for the time a simple change like that would mean changing the whole sprite i wonder how desperate devs were to see anime toes considering they legit just redid a big part of the sprite just for that
The worst part of the sailor moon Easter egg is that, as an artifact of a feature involving costume changes, it actually makes sense from a game design standpoint. But just having the ability, by itself, to remove the shoes from the sailor guardians is really weird.
To be fair, they probably programmed the code first, and wiped the shoes from the legs on the copies of the Sailors' art, so when they went into the picture files and saw a bunch of pictures with more skin tone, they could say, "Oh, we need to edit these pictures with the swimsuits." More trouble to take the code out, so they just never publicized it.
I agree, especially since I played the Mega Drive version and before the final level, I actually got one of these planned pics, which is Sailor Venus as her civilian form, Minako Aino, wearing her school uniform.
When you said Spider-Man, I immediately knew which Easter Egg it was. That story turned sour fast. When I saw it, I was like “aww cute” until I heard the story.
yes As far as I know games back in the 1980s Did Not have an ESBN rating ( or any ranting for that matter ) and I know that MOST children back then were not allowed to use PCs as they were very expensive tools for WORK ( which they still ar but more affordable for most people ) So anyone claiming games back then were for kids I am sorry but i think you do not know electronic history of the PC , Amiga or Commondore that well or history in general how it was to be kids back then. "You kids need to go outside to play and learn to be adults." that was most of the general though on children and electronics back then until around early 1990 `? round the time were first windows and Norton Command(er`? ) out either way.
@@ronnibech3376 there were a few educational "games" in the 80s, but you'd almost never see those on a computer at someone's house. The school one, sure. Amstrads, ataris, commodores, things like those were for kids/teens to game on.

Well, Battlefield 5 is one of the worst in the series so…I makes sense it would have the worst Megaladon Easter Egg.
5:43 also, this one is just heartbreaking, literally no heroes in this story in a superhero game
i dont know why there was just something really funny about some dude saying "and this video is sponsored by factor" while my parents argue in the background i couldnt stop laughing
I'm like 99% sure the sound design team made it sound horrible to be ironic. Because they're the SOUND team
3:31 that's weird... I thought I clicked on "WORST ESSTER EGGS" not best.
I completely forgot that Dark existed, I got it when it first came out and remember putting myself through hell to finish it
Same here. Even I forgot that game even existed back then. I guess it’s better to forget that game in the dark.
Me too! Talk about a forgettable game
I remember it. Because I saw a review of it not that long ago.
The first game to sold Darkillion copy
Same, despite playing through most of it myself. Every time I remember Dark, it vaporizes itself from my mind shortly after. There's just so little worth remembering about it.
That Perfect Dark Cheese Wedge easter egg is wild. I say that only because I remember seeing it get covered in game magazines back when the game was still new, and even a few years afterwards. It quickly just became one of those things people gave up on lol
"Not unisex enough"
...they were talking about Tetris right?
Certified Nintendo moment
Legally not a death threat by definition. Death threats are very narrow in definition. Call for violence, sure, but it would be up to a judge, and I doubt any would consider this legitimate. He'd have to go to civil court, not criminal.
"At least they can tell them to their face that this easter egg sucks" 😂
6:38 this is hilarious LMAO. glad to see that odd can poke fun at himself
I’m willing to bet whoever submitted the dark Easter egg is a big fan of Rerez as they made a video on the game a few months ago and they directly pointed out this poster out as being based on a real person too so I don’t think it’s coincidence it appeared on this list now.
The best easter egg I found out for myself was in Ori and the Blind Forest, where there's an enemy near a certain ledge, and if you send him flying off, he makes an iconic scream

I think the cheese one was fun! Easter eggs don't have to mean anything 🤷♀
and even then, it does mean something. its basically totakes song
Devs: Make a fun Portal reference and rip on themselves being unable to count to 3
Players: Oh my god, Portal 3 confirmed!
Devs: What? No it's not.
Players: How could you deceive us like this?!
Apparently it’s more depressing looking up the David rant and learn that David Pridie passed away shortly after the game came out
Its better that he suffocated to death before he could kill somebody, dude had problems
@MrSomebody absolutely, last big attack I had I was basically suffocating for 3 days and nearly ended up on a vent. Should have taken it more seriously but I was young, dumb, and broke.

The barefoot easter egg is peak game design.
honestly i have to give tjem props considering for the time a simple change like that would mean changing the whole sprite
i wonder how desperate devs were to see anime toes considering they legit just redid a big part of the sprite just for that

The black cat in Sailor Moon is named Luna. Artemis is the white cat
"Did Dan Schneider work on this game?"
Thank you for this joke, man!
I love hearing about really Bizzare Easter eggs, they are Fun and interesting, that Portal Easter egg was sweet.
Honestly, the cheese thing in Perfect Dark is more cute than bad.
The CS GO easter egg was awesome, just a fun mystery for the sake of it. Shame everyone wanted it to be a game announcement
No, it's just mean-spirited. Making people go through so much complicated code-breaking just for a "Don't forget to drink your ovaltine" type message.

7:46 Minecraft?
Who out there is claiming that the King's Quest series is meant to be a kids' game series?
Don't you know that anything that isn't explicitly mature-rated is automatically for kids? /s
yes As far as I know games back in the 1980s Did Not have an ESBN rating ( or any ranting for that matter ) and I know that MOST children back then were not allowed to use PCs as they were very expensive tools for WORK ( which they still ar but more affordable for most people )
So anyone claiming games back then were for kids I am sorry but i think you do not know electronic history of the PC , Amiga or Commondore that well or history in general how it was to be kids back then.
@@RayneOfSalt exactly 😓thought it may have ben even later in Denmark as most did not have a personal computer or color TV until around 1988
My school did not have any computers until I was graduating from 7th grade. and there were only 2 educational programs one was math the other was a spelling program.

You're telling me, minecraft is using KING QUEST
tetris is a game you could write in a single day so I am not sure why he would have that big of an ego to leave such a crazy rant.
Things aren't always looks like what they actually seems to be.
So... the Perfect Dark and CS:GO eggs are bad because...people are way too obsessive and made dumb assumptions about things and got disappointed because their overinflated expectations weren't met? At least the other ones have pretty clear reasons why they're bad.
First one is one of the best easter eggs I've ever seen 😳

Hahaha I agree!
KQII easter egg is hilarious.
The concept of portal 3 gave me chills just hearing it being said. I think I'm part of the problem of people frothing at the mouth for another Portal game
Fun fact: Roberta Williams herself, the co-founder of Sierra, was one of the naked women, on the box art of "Softporn Adventure".
8:30 The swearing part reminded me a lot of this other typing game called *Hugo* (I think that's what it was called), where you could also literally type the swearwords with funny outcomes, of which I can only remember typing something like say, "F**k you!" and my character went like "Same to you l***er!". Fun times.

If Valve ever makes a new Half-Life, they absolutely need to call it Half-Life 4 to skip 3 and keep the meme alive.
8:07 I do really like this aspect of text parser games. I wish the genre wasn't SUPER dead. There's not even any notable indie games like that anymore

Love the content as always, though two things on that Sailor Moon game at the start:
1. There are multiple Sailor Moon titles on the SNES/Super Famicom and I believe this was Sailor Moon R but could be wrong.
2. That wasn't Artemis, that was Luna. Artemis was the white cat.
Does Oddheader even Sailor Moon???

@@ronnibech3376 Oh I love Another Story. I picked up a box complete copy while I was in Japan and also have an English language copy I picked up from a guy who applies the english language patch to a rom and puts it on a cart with a new label. I've already talked about this, but when I was a kid I read about test tubes being hidden on every level of GoldenEye. Considering it happened on Perfect Dark pretty much, maybe it's real OR they got inspired by this easter egg.

People are so hysterical these days. Clearly, this isn’t a death threat nor a call for violence. If they genuinely wished for him to die, they would’ve just ran out and did it themselves.
Also, they don’t need permission to use an image of the guy’s face, especially since it was significantly edited.

Apparently Half Life 3 was going to be semi open world, have dog as a companion and be upgradeable, and have... crafting...
So Half Life 3 would've been an Ubisoft game before Ubisoft tanked those concepts.
