Myelin Games something you might want to look into for the last wish lore is that the new missions that you can complete since the raid has been completed has plenty of yellow/orange bar hive all named something like Greed of Xivu arath or Might of Xivu Arath. Might be something to look into because i thought savathun was coming but mabye its the rest of the osmium dynasty at once. seems pretty cool.

We keep seen the risen of fallen characters, Variks, Mithrax, the Spider ... I do hope that in the future, we can form an aliance with a resurgent eliksni House, this video gave me hope that maybe House Judgment in this one. the eliksni have such a sad and powerful story so far.
Agreed. I have a lot of sympathy for the fallen. Also, guardians arent so pure themselves. I see us and them as almost equal. Id love to see more fallen stuff in the future.

Me too, for them to see the Traveler uplift the eliksni and abandon them, then find out that Traveler did something similar to Earth but for some reason decided to create the guardians (and not abandoned it), must be disheartinging, why humanity? why not eliksni? The more you read about the Fallen, the more you sympathize with them. One of the Variks's line from D1 is "Fallen are not evil, Fallen is lost".

I absolutely adore Variks and I’m glad to hear what’s happened and what he’s become. The “Emotion caught in his voice. ‘Cannot stomach the hate’” really tugged my heart strings lol
Variks is a bro and the only entity in the destiny universe that has tried diplomacy. I love him and I hope we get to team up with him sometime and bungie does not make us kill him. He has his own reasons for doing what he does and I think we could eventually forge a working relationship with the fallen with him as the kell.
To be fair... You can't really negotiate with beings that want absolute null-universes, conquering assholes led by an albino space rhino, or beings whose entire philosophy is "Kill them, kill her, kill him, kill everyone. Grow stronger.". Variks did what he could, though. As do we. Keep in mind that we're never the ones that shoot first.
I cant believe Bungie is writing the story along with what the community comes up with. I thought the whole "Kell of Kells" thing was just a joke among the players, but now he actually becomes just that. Its amazing to see the lore of the game come to light and we're only on half. I cant wait to see what the next few DLC will be. Im certain we will see Savathun and Xivu Arath soon aswell as Variks, it all adds up because whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial land tank outside Rubicon. He's well protected. But with the right team we can punch through their defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

He actually has a voice synth. It is something I am going to look into. BUT by the sounds of it, the english voice we here is artificial. Spiders being better at english is likely intentional
I don't know how I feel about Variks. On one hand he let Uldreen and the Barons out and is responsible for the death of Cayde-6. On the other hand if he unites the houses then it could potentially lead into a Eliksni and Human alliance which would be good. I guess it depends on how far we are willing to go. And whether the Guardian knows about it or not.
I mean, we've already sided with Spider and he is only with us for the business. Wouldn't put it past us to align with the Eliksni to defend against the Darkness. Especially with Variks as Kell. I, for one, would love that.
I mean, let’s not forget, part of Cayde dying was Cayde’s own fault. He’s always trying to play the hero. He could’ve tried to reconnect with Petra and us to come at the Baron’s stronger, but he chose bull riding debris to the bottom of the prison only to find himself severely outnumbered. Cayde sure did have a lot of style and heart, but he was utterly full of himself and that’s what lead to his death.
What if we find and ally with a faction of Cabal that wants to change how the Cabal works and have them ally with us and the Fallen then we will do the same for the Hive so all of us will team up and fight against the Darkness for good
They chose to remain. That time period was the easiest way to capture data on the light at it's weakest. Testing Guardians through combat. Because next the Taken would come.

Absolutely love this story, it's somewhat tragic, but also hopeful for the Eliksni's future. Variks made a lot of mistakes, however considering how poorly the Fallen are doing at this point it's somewhat understandable. This really boosts the chances of Fallen allies in the future, along with things like Mithrax being part of a Guardian fireteam (and yes I killed him because I didn't know he was good, I'm sorry ;_;). I'm really excited for the future of Variks and Mithrax.
TBH I killed the knight first because I hate the hive way more than the fallen, but then I tried to kill him cause I thought I had to for the mission, then he just left and gave me the thing and I was like wut
I think I just went in and threw a nova bomb intent on getting as much stuff out as possible, I regretted it big time when I saw Myelins first video mentioning Mithrax
I went for the Knight and killed it, but I must of accidentally hit Mithrax with a stray bullet or something because he attacked me after the Knight died, so I was forced to kill him.
Honestly after Cayde, Variks is my second favorite "Good" guy. I cant see Bungie killing him off...who's knows maybe Destiny will become like Halo 3 and allow for another, non human race to be playable. I hope that is the case.. Time will tell

It would also make more sense that they worship servitors as they cant create their own. Is there any lore to back this up / go against this?
I'm fairly certain that the servitors are made my the fallen in the image of the Traveler, although I can't remember exactly where I heard this, I think it was in a Byf video.

At the end when Mithrax is talking he's trying too say the name of some new Kell but has difficulty with saying it in human speech. Do you think that's Variks he's talking about?

I read the lore beforehand, so I would know instantly what was going on before my fireteam. xD Lore always fleshes out the experience. It's what made D1 playable for me. Why I fell in love with the game instead of abandoning it.
I'm starting to speculate that by Destiny 3, Calus and his followers will have allied with the City along with Variks and his people, if they turn out to be good. ( I REALLY hope so) I'm thinking that the game will be focused on our new covenant having to deal with the Darkness ships that we see at the ending of D2 vanilla.

I can't help but think the lore is so good this expac in part because of that discussion you had with CB and others at the summit. Don't know for sure, but all I can say is thank you for giving so much to the community in your lore videos and now your help on the grimmoire anthology. You've definitely become legend Myelin.
Deleted my original comment, because you brought something to my attention with the comment about Mithrax. I know this video is about the new lore regarding Variks (which I only read recently and out of order so I misunderstood certain details) and how dire and changed Variks is following his departure...along the birth of the Scorn. But if it’s been confirmed that Mithrax was killed and came back to life (I spared him on all my characters). I think this may mean something I have been hoping for a while now (well sort of) Taniks was resurrected by SIVA, The Scorn by Dark Ether, but Mithrax doesn’t appear to ressurected by any of those things. It’s also confirmed in the Queenbreaker’s Bow and Lord Of Wolves lore that Mithrax is on a fire team of Guardians. ...Could Mithrax be an fully risen Eliksni Guardian?
The Gentlesaurian Velocidapper it’s not impossible. There’s a dead ghost story entry where a ghost finds its guardian and initially thinks it is a Fallen. The ghost finds it distasteful but seems to not doubt the possibility. Of course, turns out it wasn’t actually the Fallen. But the possibility is there.

Craask has always wished this. It was he who organized the coalition of Fallen in the Battle of Twilight Gap. Through the Devils, which were his puppets, he schemed to create a Fallen mega-alliance... which we broke upon our walls. Years later, with all Houses other than his own weak and dying, he planned to one up his previous actions. Craask captures Uldren and uses him to unite the Fallen. He tells him thus: "Thou shalt tell the Eliksni to tear off their banners. Thou shalt tell them that we must all surrender to each other. We must give up our rivalries, or we will not survive. Wilt thou do this for one dying people, Prince of another?". The previous Houses burned their banners and discarded their heraldry. They all joined the mighty House of Kings and took for themselves the royal colors of purple and gold. Uldren later rose up against Craask and had him docked. That is the last we've heard of Craask or the Kings or the Dusk. It is assumed that Variks' bounty hunter was speaking of this moment. Perhaps, though, Craask survived as a dreg. We don't know. The House of Dusk is likely named as such due to Craask's vision for the Fallen. He says: "It is twilight for the Fallen, and we must lay our banners down." Dusk is the darkest moment of twilight.

At 2:10 you said that we gave him the elder ciphers during 'The Taken King' expansion. I'm pretty sure it was in the 'House of Wolves' expansion? Otherwise great video bro. There's lots of similarities between Ether/Dark Ether and Energon/Dark Energon.
New Theory: In Destiny 3, we see the combination of the Vex and Hive as they create the most unholy faction of the Darkness to date. This new faction and its leaders are so powerful that the Light alone cannot stop it. I'm talking the Taken on steroids. I believe it will have something to do with Vex tech and time travel combined with Hive magic and mastery of the Darkness. (BTW, I think that the Heart of the Black Garden was a piece of Oryx but the vex didn't know it). Calus has foreseen this future though the OXA machine and has sought to make us stronger while gaining an ally when this eventuality happens. Variks and the Fallen are simply beat up and need to try a different strategy to survive. When this threat lands in Sol, the Loyalists and the House of Judgement will join forces with the Guardians to create the Triple Entente of Sol. This alliance will beat back the Darkness and we will finally be able to leave Sol. Might add the Reef somewhere in there and the Nine if we ever find out what they are doing. We will also have those stubborn Fallen that would rather die than join us and maybe some other Cabal legions to fight. Tell me what you guys think of this.
On one hand, this actually sounds pretty lit and I do hope something like this happens at some point in time, but on the other hand I doubt it would go down exactly like this. First of all the vex and the hive have way too different motives and really only care about their own survival until the end to come together, not to mention if you believe Beard Grizzly's theory then the Vex were made to beat the darkness.

This isn't as far-fetched as you guys think. Don't forget during the battle between Vex and Hive when Crota allowed the Vex to infiltrate Oryx's throne world, a Vex Hydra that studied the Hive's Sword Logic was there. Oryx spared that Hydra and gave it to Savathun for experimentation. Since all Vex minds are linked, there's no telling what a Taken Hydra would be relaying between Savathun and the Vex Collective Mind, especially since she's a part of the struggle to take control of the Taken now that Oryx is gone. So how I see it is that the conclusion of Destiny is a final battle against the Vex, Taken, and Hive following the Darkness. Calus has already formed an alliance with us in order to help reclaim his empire and integrate a firm relationship between Guardians and the Cabal Empire. However, our final ally would be a Kell-sized Variks who is still torn on which side to choose in order for the Fallen to survive. I'm willing to bet a good portion of Destiny 3 (or even the DLC before Destiny 3) will have Variks as our enemy because the Darkness will promise him the survival of the Eliksni. It'll end with us defeating Variks but not killing him and Variks will betray for the last time, this time being the key factor in defeating the Darkness. I'm sure that Taken Hydra who's capable of simulating Auryx will fully incorporate sword logic and learn to simulate Oryx, yes we may end up fighting a Vex Oryx because thats what the lore seems to be hinting at.

Dude, Im so happy. Variks is one of my favorite characters, and now that he is Kell, aw man, I get chills. I hope we can work with him, but it seems that relations between him and us have soured. I hope we can resolve those issues. Im personally hoping that Variks joins the Tower and the City, and the Traveler gives Variks and his Fallen the Light again. It would be sick to play as an Eliksni Guardian.
You made a mistake saying that during the Taken king expansion is when we got the elder cipher. Actually it was the House of Wolves expansion. Dont mean to sound rude, just clarifying.
I'm not so sure even that's correct. Thought the Elder Cipher was added way after the Prison of Elders was intially introduced. So maybe Age of Triumphs in year 3?
This, with the lore tabs for QBB and LoW, make me hope that finally, in Destiny 3, when the Darkness itself returns to finish the job, the Fallen will take up arms with the Guardians, and once again walk in the Travelers Light.

There's something mesmerizing about watching Trust being used. I'm not sure if it's the breach-loading or it's the unique recoil pattern. It's not even close to the best hand cannon, but I like it.
Damn hearing Variks starving like that is depressing as shit. I like spider, but I respect and like varicks alot more and besides I really wanted more from the fallen and cabal... But bungie completely shitting on them both and everyone likes to circle jerk the hive/ taken. The Hive are truly the main enemy after the Darkness. The Fallen and Cabal are not minions of the Darkness. The Vex do there own thing and simply terraform planets, where death is a byproduct of conversion.
John W I would be fine with the hive but they are terribly predictable after the sword logic. Unlike the vex or fallen we basically know everything about them and how they operate and wence they came. There is more since of discovery or surprise, what's worse is the constant re-use of ooooo giant wizard giant knight both which were crota (knight) and Oryx( a sword wielding wizard) The taken was a chance to invent new enemies maybe a side affect of being taking light by force instead of it given like with Ghaul and it being a twist of light and darkness. The fallen has a shit ton of history with the traveler and houses especially being the previous 'guardians' and being at the center of previous lore wars. The cabal had a chance to really be something special and bungie just took a really pseudo-roman cop out that was disgusting~ my favorite faction ruined~ and atleas the Vex still hold that elusive philosophy and design that make impressive cults and ideas until.. well trials of osiris now they are becoming slightly redundant.

There’s a new story about Mithrax from the Lord of Wolves and Queenbreakers bow. He now is apart of a fireteam and appears to be the first fallen ever to become apart of a guardian fireteam. He’s also looking for Variks I believe. Just thought you guys should know if anybody hasn’t read those lore tabs yet
I was hoping he wasn’t dead, glad to know he isn’t. I just had to get emotional while watching the video, hearing what happened broke me a little in the beginning. I’m fine now knowing Varik is ok, and has taken the mantle of Kell of House Judgment. :D
Variks becoming a Kell is something I look forward to seeing, he’s been through a lot and if he is the only true survivor of the whirlwind then I assume he will become allies with humanity at some point. I can’t see him being against us as it would go against what he believes and he’s smart enough to not do that. Hope they don’t handle his story poorly.

We know it came from the Darkness within Uldren's eyes. So, if Dark ether is some sort of amalgamation of Darkness and ether, would that make the Scorn makeshift diluted Taken? They are lifeforms inhabited by Darkness...

Variks is a bro and the only entity in the destiny universe that has tried diplomacy. I love him and I hope we get to team up with him sometime and bungie does not make us kill him. He has his own reasons for doing what he does and I think we could eventually forge a working relationship with the fallen with him as the kell.

To be fair... You can't really negotiate with beings that want absolute null-universes, conquering assholes led by an albino space rhino, or beings whose entire philosophy is "Kill them, kill her, kill him, kill everyone. Grow stronger.". Variks did what he could, though. As do we. Keep in mind that we're never the ones that shoot first.

I cant believe Bungie is writing the story along with what the community comes up with. I thought the whole "Kell of Kells" thing was just a joke among the players, but now he actually becomes just that.
Its amazing to see the lore of the game come to light and we're only on half. I cant wait to see what the next few DLC will be.
Im certain we will see Savathun and Xivu Arath soon aswell as Variks, it all adds up because whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. But with the right team we can punch through their defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

He actually has a voice synth. It is something I am going to look into. BUT by the sounds of it, the english voice we here is artificial. Spiders being better at english is likely intentional

I don't know how I feel about Variks.
On one hand he let Uldreen and the Barons out and is responsible for the death of Cayde-6.
On the other hand if he unites the houses then it could potentially lead into a Eliksni and Human alliance which would be good.
I guess it depends on how far we are willing to go. And whether the Guardian knows about it or not.
I mean, we've already sided with Spider and he is only with us for the business. Wouldn't put it past us to align with the Eliksni to defend against the Darkness. Especially with Variks as Kell. I, for one, would love that.

I mean, let’s not forget, part of Cayde dying was Cayde’s own fault. He’s always trying to play the hero. He could’ve tried to reconnect with Petra and us to come at the Baron’s stronger, but he chose bull riding debris to the bottom of the prison only to find himself severely outnumbered. Cayde sure did have a lot of style and heart, but he was utterly full of himself and that’s what lead to his death.
What if we find and ally with a faction of Cabal that wants to change how the Cabal works and have them ally with us and the Fallen then we will do the same for the Hive so all of us will team up and fight against the Darkness for good

They chose to remain. That time period was the easiest way to capture data on the light at it's weakest. Testing Guardians through combat. Because next the Taken would come.

Absolutely love this story, it's somewhat tragic, but also hopeful for the Eliksni's future. Variks made a lot of mistakes, however considering how poorly the Fallen are doing at this point it's somewhat understandable. This really boosts the chances of Fallen allies in the future, along with things like Mithrax being part of a Guardian fireteam (and yes I killed him because I didn't know he was good, I'm sorry ;_;). I'm really excited for the future of Variks and Mithrax.
TBH I killed the knight first because I hate the hive way more than the fallen, but then I tried to kill him cause I thought I had to for the mission, then he just left and gave me the thing and I was like wut

I went for the Knight and killed it, but I must of accidentally hit Mithrax with a stray bullet or something because he attacked me after the Knight died, so I was forced to kill him.

Honestly after Cayde, Variks is my second favorite "Good" guy. I cant see Bungie killing him off...who's knows maybe Destiny will become like Halo 3 and allow for another, non human race to be playable. I hope that is the case.. Time will tell

Woah, when you talked about how "the machine's ether" and that it might be made by the traveler, it made me think: What if Servitors are like the prototype/fallen version of ghosts? It would also make more sense that they worship servitors as they cant create their own. Is there any lore to back this up / go against this?
I'm fairly certain that the servitors are made my the fallen in the image of the Traveler, although I can't remember exactly where I heard this, I think it was in a Byf video.

( I REALLY hope so) I'm thinking that the game will be focused on our new covenant having to deal with the Darkness ships that we see at the ending of D2 vanilla.

I know this video is about the new lore regarding Variks (which I only read recently and out of order so I misunderstood certain details) and how dire and changed Variks is following his departure...along the birth of the Scorn.
But if it’s been confirmed that Mithrax was killed and came back to life (I spared him on all my characters). I think this may mean something I have been hoping for a while now (well sort of)
Taniks was resurrected by SIVA, The Scorn by Dark Ether, but Mithrax doesn’t appear to ressurected by any of those things. It’s also confirmed in the Queenbreaker’s Bow and Lord Of Wolves lore that Mithrax is on a fire team of Guardians.
...Could Mithrax be an fully risen Eliksni Guardian?

The Gentlesaurian Velocidapper it’s not impossible. There’s a dead ghost story entry where a ghost finds its guardian and initially thinks it is a Fallen. The ghost finds it distasteful but seems to not doubt the possibility.
Of course, turns out it wasn’t actually the Fallen. But the possibility is there.
Its good to know that he's still out there. I always liked Variks and its good to see someone try to reunite the Fallen after the Traveler left them.

+stephen ryerson House Dusk is the scattered remains of the House of Kings. Originally, Craask, Kell of Kings, planned to unite all the Fallen Houses under the Kings banner. Craask has always wished this. It was he who organized the coalition of Fallen in the Battle of Twilight Gap. Through the Devils, which were his puppets, he schemed to create a Fallen mega-alliance... which we broke upon our walls.
Years later, with all Houses other than his own weak and dying, he planned to one up his previous actions. Craask captures Uldren and uses him to unite the Fallen. He tells him thus: "Thou shalt tell the Eliksni to tear off their banners. Thou shalt tell them that we must all surrender to each other. We must give up our rivalries, or we will not survive. Wilt thou do this for one dying people, Prince of another?". The previous Houses burned their banners and discarded their heraldry. They all joined the mighty House of Kings and took for themselves the royal colors of purple and gold.
Uldren later rose up against Craask and had him docked. That is the last we've heard of Craask or the Kings or the Dusk. It is assumed that Variks' bounty hunter was speaking of this moment. Perhaps, though, Craask survived as a dreg. We don't know.
The House of Dusk is likely named as such due to Craask's vision for the Fallen. He says: "It is twilight for the Fallen, and we must lay our banners down." Dusk is the darkest moment of twilight.

New Theory:
In Destiny 3, we see the combination of the Vex and Hive as they create the most unholy faction of the Darkness to date. This new faction and its leaders are so powerful that the Light alone cannot stop it. I'm talking the Taken on steroids. I believe it will have something to do with Vex tech and time travel combined with Hive magic and mastery of the Darkness. (BTW, I think that the Heart of the Black Garden was a piece of Oryx but the vex didn't know it).
Calus has foreseen this future though the OXA machine and has sought to make us stronger while gaining an ally when this eventuality happens. Variks and the Fallen are simply beat up and need to try a different strategy to survive. When this threat lands in Sol, the Loyalists and the House of Judgement will join forces with the Guardians to create the Triple Entente of Sol. This alliance will beat back the Darkness and we will finally be able to leave Sol.
Might add the Reef somewhere in there and the Nine if we ever find out what they are doing. We will also have those stubborn Fallen that would rather die than join us and maybe some other Cabal legions to fight.
Tell me what you guys think of this.
On one hand, this actually sounds pretty lit and I do hope something like this happens at some point in time, but on the other hand I doubt it would go down exactly like this. First of all the vex and the hive have way too different motives and really only care about their own survival until the end to come together, not to mention if you believe Beard Grizzly's theory then the Vex were made to beat the darkness.

This isn't as far-fetched as you guys think. Don't forget during the battle between Vex and Hive when Crota allowed the Vex to infiltrate Oryx's throne world, a Vex Hydra that studied the Hive's Sword Logic was there. Oryx spared that Hydra and gave it to Savathun for experimentation. Since all Vex minds are linked, there's no telling what a Taken Hydra would be relaying between Savathun and the Vex Collective Mind, especially since she's a part of the struggle to take control of the Taken now that Oryx is gone.
So how I see it is that the conclusion of Destiny is a final battle against the Vex, Taken, and Hive following the Darkness. Calus has already formed an alliance with us in order to help reclaim his empire and integrate a firm relationship between Guardians and the Cabal Empire. However, our final ally would be a Kell-sized Variks who is still torn on which side to choose in order for the Fallen to survive.
I'm willing to bet a good portion of Destiny 3 (or even the DLC before Destiny 3) will have Variks as our enemy because the Darkness will promise him the survival of the Eliksni. It'll end with us defeating Variks but not killing him and Variks will betray for the last time, this time being the key factor in defeating the Darkness. I'm sure that Taken Hydra who's capable of simulating Auryx will fully incorporate sword logic and learn to simulate Oryx, yes we may end up fighting a Vex Oryx because thats what the lore seems to be hinting at.

Dude, Im so happy. Variks is one of my favorite characters, and now that he is Kell, aw man, I get chills. I hope we can work with him, but it seems that relations between him and us have soured. I hope we can resolve those issues. Im personally hoping that Variks joins the Tower and the City, and the Traveler gives Variks and his Fallen the Light again. It would be sick to play as an Eliksni Guardian.

@@bennett2874 variks probably saw no way to save uldren and he saw the threat that posed and that he needed to die. Variks felt the need to save the eliksni so he left and let the prisoners out

There's something mesmerizing about watching Trust being used. I'm not sure if it's the breach-loading or it's the unique recoil pattern. It's not even close to the best hand cannon, but I like it.

The Vex do there own thing and simply terraform planets, where death is a byproduct of conversion.
John W I would be fine with the hive but they are terribly predictable after the sword logic. Unlike the vex or fallen we basically know everything about them and how they operate and wence they came. There is more since of discovery or surprise, what's worse is the constant re-use of ooooo giant wizard giant knight both which were crota (knight) and Oryx( a sword wielding wizard) The taken was a chance to invent new enemies maybe a side affect of being taking light by force instead of it given like with Ghaul and it being a twist of light and darkness. The fallen has a shit ton of history with the traveler and houses especially being the previous 'guardians' and being at the center of previous lore wars. The cabal had a chance to really be something special and bungie just took a really pseudo-roman cop out that was disgusting~ my favorite faction ruined~ and atleas the Vex still hold that elusive philosophy and design that make impressive cults and ideas until.. well trials of osiris now they are becoming slightly redundant.

I can’t see him being against us as it would go against what he believes and he’s smart enough to not do that. Hope they don’t handle his story poorly.

Also, I got to thinking about the Dark ether. We know it came from the Darkness within Uldren's eyes. So, if Dark ether is some sort of amalgamation of Darkness and ether, would that make the Scorn makeshift diluted Taken? They are lifeforms inhabited by Darkness...
