      Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for starting this channel and sharing your reviews here.. they've been invaluable to me. What I like most about what you do is.. just the thorough and honest testing process that you go through. What you won't or can't test.. you disclaim. You bring up great points about alternative applications and considerations that many otherwise may not have considered (such as the ecoflow alternator extended abilities). No nonsense, no BS, and entertaining.. keep doing what you're doing brother.

      I use my Ecoflow products in my living room, so noise level is a major factor. Delta Pro sounded like a server rack, so I got 2 Delta 2 Max units. (Very quiet even under load and charging) Sad to see they advertise low dB on the DP3 but it's likely too loud at higher charging levels. The PV inputs being rather anemic is an ongoing issue. I have to run 4 input cables for the Delta2 Max units for 2000W total. Higher max voltage and current limits are a must as well as additional connections.
      Those 2 misses fixed and this thing would be near perfect.
      Ecoflow, to make the thing more manageable, just make the included battery pack detachable but so it locks in place. Way easier to lift 50ish lbs instead of 100+ when you need to lift it.
      Hobotech, I'd be interested in a video showing the dB at various input charging wattage.

    I can't stand these companies charging thousands of dollars for these power stations and skimping on the PV inputs, give us two XT60i inputs and 3000 w charge controllers for a capacity this large. At this point I'm just going full custom.

    Makes no sense that they limit the solar input voltage to 150 and also that they didn't configure this thing so that 120 and 240 can work at the same time.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  3 месяца назад +1

      Well, it actually does make sense about the inverters. They wanted to provide UPS to the 120v side, but keep the 240v side online while charging with 120v. With that adapter I show in the video you can have both 120v and 240v at the same time as there are two 240v outlets!

  • @treepop1550

    This unit is great because it wil allow people who have 240v well pump to be able to have a relatively small unit that will service a variety of electrical loads in a flexible off grid situation. Many submersible well pumps are 240v if they are deeper than 100 ft.

    • @danw1955
      @danw1955 3 месяца назад +1

      It's not the voltage that's the issue, it's the current draw at startup that would determine if this thing could even produce enough to start the pump. The average 1 hp. deep well submersible pump will draw up to 48 amps at startup, which is 11,500+ watts @ 240 VAC. Even a small 1/2 hp. pump needs around 2400 watts (20 amps)@ 120 VAC, to start successfully without overheating the motor windings under load.

    • @danw1955
      @danw1955 24 дня назад

      @@beckerwholesale2913 Relatively impossible actually. The average 2hp. submersible will draw up to 60 amps on startup and draw 10-13 amps while running, so you'd be much further ahead with an actual gas or diesel generator as a backup,. (at least 10 KW.). Submersibles are finicky about having full starting power available, or you'll burn the motor out in short order, especially on depths over 200 ft.😐

    Those solar inputs are embarrassing. Makes me feel better about my Pecron station with its weird 32-95 volt limit on its dual MPPT controllers. For the price they charge for these all in one things we should be able to put 500v of solar in it. You can get all in ones without the battery that can do this for a fraction of the price but you need to add a battery. I like to have one of these but I am in the north and 2600 watts isn't good for much of the year. I would have to use a gas generator a lot. Other than that they are nice. Can I plug in a 24v water pump? Rather than buy expensive proprietary batters I will never buy they should let people plug in normal batteries I can buy on amazon and have it balance with the battery already inside. Making these suggestions a thing in your next model will make me want one.

    The DP3 is good. Main purchase reasons would be the native 240v inverter. The extra capacity was probably needed to accommodate it as well.
    The price is reasonable. Same as the outgoing Delta Pro before discounts.
    They continue to fail to give the expansion batteries more functionality.
    EV charging: both to charge the unit from a public charging station as well as being able to charge your EV from the DP3 is good.
    Is there “pass thru” charging when charging from a EV station?

    Thank you for highlighting the noise and the charging limitations. I noticed on their official release that they only list noise at 2000w.. when this product has a range vastly larger than that. Upper-mid 50's while charging in a mobile application... Honestly, I think the peak noise achieved wouldn't have bothered me as much if they hadn't omitted it from their official spec release.
    I think I'll pass on this DP3 for now.. if they release a DP3 mk ii w/ far greater max solar input and lower fan noise, it'll be a no brainer.

    I just called EcoFlow to see if it was possible to charge the EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 with my Honda EU-2000i which is a 2000 watt generator that puts out 120v at 13 amps. I was told the 2000 watts was not enough power to charge a 4000w generator and could cause possible damage to the EcoFlow. That does not sound right to me. If you turn on the 240V will that run all of the 120V in your house as long as you do not turn on anything that pulls 240V? I know how the 120V is split in two for US houses so will the 240V run all the 120V together or can you only run half your house on 120V with these set in 120V mode?

      @Brewdiver82 3 месяца назад

      @truckerhershey7042 Yes, I am. The scenario you state is not likely in the near future. Propane generators are also a better choice in most situations. These are niche items good for fair weather camping or building live in vans for traveling.
      Don't get me wrong, the solar generators are definitely cool but they are overpriced to the point that they are cost prohibitive for the extreme majority of people.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  3 месяца назад +1

      Comparing a gas generator to solar is apples to oranges. There are so many downsides to a gas/propane generator. Try using one during a blackout and expect to attract a LOT of unwelcome attention. They also smell, are super loud, and require tons of maintenance.

    • @Brewdiver82
      @Brewdiver82 3 месяца назад

      @HOBOTECH I have 4 jackery units and I have in fact used them during power outages. They work great until they run out of power and you realize you have no way to charge one since solar panels don't work much if at all during the winter months. Then you break down and buy a gas/propane generator because it's the only reliable way to get power in less than ideal conditions. Each type has its own pros and cons but the cons are much more numerous for these battery units.
