    Delta Pro can be got for $1995 now. This will also be 1/2 in a year or two.
    Caution: EcoFlow's app works, but at what expense? They want to download everything on your phone, including photos and tracking information as their price to use their app. Read your terms before downloading. I have a Pro and 2 Delta 2's - they work well, but I don't like being fracked with, which they seem to do. I just want to buy their product then be left alone.

    Just a heads up for anyone thinking about buying an Ecoflow power station. If they are out of an item, their website will not state this. Therefore, they will take your money for something they don't even have in stock. I ordered a River 2/panel combo for my daughter. The panel was shipped, but the not the River2. I had to email them to find out what is going on with the River2. That's when they informed me that they won't have any until the end of July.

    If you plan on having an Eco Flow Delta Pro 3 Power station( indoors ) where there are humans - the unit ( In Canada not sure about the US) must have a UL 2540A rating for fire protection during a Battery runaway.
    I JUST BOUGHT THE Eco Flow Delta Pro 3 Power station AND THE EXTRA SMART Battery 4000 Watts each - total 8000 Watts, and the Electrical Inspector during the install Inspection indoors - at first couldn't find the UL 2540A Certification, so I had to go through (7) E mails (so far) to support to get the certification documents - or I would have to build a fire safe room for the Batteries as per the NBC Canadian National Building code and Alberta Electrical code 64-1100 for any ESS system Energy Supply System - (Batteries). The video was about an outside system but if you are hooking this up inside better get the certification. Just a heads up.

    I had a delta pro. But I wanted a stand-alone unit that outputs 240 volts to power my deep well water pump in an emergency. So, I bought a Delta Pro 3 with a $500 coupon on Amazon and brought it down to about $3200. It's not too bad for a 4000-watt 240 voltage portable power station.

    Adding a light to any unit is useful but not if it's too bright and in your eyes. Dazzle. 🙈 BATTERY powered LED sensor lights around my house to illuminate critical areas during frequent power cuts. In your scenario I would drape a head torch around the carry handle on the power unit.

    I have a small house. This unit would meet my needs. It would be fun to see you test it on a small house that has a generator panel and a manual transfer switch. I had my house hooked up so I can run everything in my house except my stove and washer and dryer. I did it this way so I could keep my sump pumps going during a power outage with a gas generator. I have the 240 volt generator plug too. It was fun running both my TVs 2 acs my fridge and pc off of a 8000 watt generator when we tested the panel. Hopefully I’ll never have to use it.

    Confession: I wired the lights in my shed to run through a barrel connector on my OG River, which I used for testing. When I went to buy a River 2 to keep in there permanently, I was mad that it only included the cigarette lighter port. I now need to convert it to a 12V car connector. I appreciate having both, especially as little room as the barrel connector takes up.

    I don’t mind the lack of a 12 volt socket. This unit (although it does have a RV style 30 watt) is clearly meant to be more of a home backup unit than a portable camping power source. Lugging an extra teenager worth of weight in the trunk….probably not. But I know what to grab if my EV runs dead on the side of the road 😅

    For the low solar input my tip is to charge (part of) your solar first into a 12/24/48 volt battery first using a good mppt and then connect a DC-DC in between the battery and the Ecoflow('s low input port)
    This is also practical when you need to use the Ecoflow on a different location for a few hours and want to charge it quickly on return.
    I am doing this with my Ecoflow devices for a long time and it works great. You can even lower the charge amps to reduce the loss in the cable

  • @JamesAmbrose48
    @JamesAmbrose48 4 месяца назад +12

    I wish these companies were more honest about surge capacity. They want these units light so they got rid of the transformers but there’s nothing that handles a surge like a heavy transformer. You have to take their surge capacity claims and divide them in half for an accurate figure. Even then….

    • @FullSendPrecision

    I think the only thing I can criticize this new unit (outside of it not playing nice with the main Delta Pro unit in anyway outside of the batteries) is that you are still only able to connect 2 batteries or a battery and their gas generator. The batteries are just there for the main unit and can't do anything else. It would be nice to be able to daisy chain more batteries or be able to take the extra battery and carry it to a charging source so the main unit can continue to power you loads and you don't have to run cables everywhere or something.

    Man if they had put a bigger inverter in there to run pumps. compressors, etc and put the 12v DC port then this would be a home run. I need a 240v to run my pumps and I'm not convinced it's going to make it. If you have any more testing you can do on it, that would be great. There's not many devices on the market that can easily do 240v and run a 1/2 or 3/4hp well pump. That's what we want.

    1. Ecoflow pioneered ergonomic designs that look at home in your house. Before this company, everything looked very industrial. So how is that a negative?
    2. An Anderson connector to cigarette Lighter adapter is very available on Amazon, but they tend to shake loose and overheat so all the solar generators limit the amperage to 10A. If you wanna supply more than that, you have to put it on an Anderson connector, which is secure.
    3. If you just discharged the battery at a high rate of speed, or dumped most of it's capacity, of course it's not going to recharge at the highest possible rate. It takes some time for the battery to cool down before the BMS will allow top charging speed.
    4. If you're experienced with solar generators, you should already know these things.

    No 12v cigar socket is a deal breaker for exactly the reason mentioned in this video. Whilst not a deal breaker, I also think that Ecoflow really need to either rethink the form factor of the unit or add sturdy tie down points. The unit as is is highly susceptible to tipping over in the back of a 4x4 when going round tight curves and corners on mountain passes. Another thing that I do not like is the choice of wheels. They are fine if on a finished flat surface but utterly useless on a muddy field or gravel. Swit (I think it is Swit) introduced a portable battery unit for filmmakers and their unit has proper pneumatic tyres. I really would like to see companies like Ecoflow that target consumers add proper tyres or at least offer a custom cart for traversing rough terrain. Pneumatic tyres would also have the added benefit of absorbing some of the vibrations whilst pulling it along. They, like others, are over-focused on making their units look cool with fancy displays than real, practical function.

    I'm looking at making a power station and having done so, I'm struggling to understand how they justify the cost.
    A 12v/280Ah/3584Wh battery is £500. A decent inverter is only £150. A solar charger roughly £100 and carry case, around £50... plus a few wires/ports which are dirt cheap.
    How on earth can they justify nearly $3500?!

    Its a nice product with some decent upgrades but I dont think it's worth $1,000 more than the original Delta Pro. I've seen the origonal Delta Pro at The Home Depot for $1999.

    We'd like to know if the power stations that output 240v can handle the surge of a well pump. For those of us that live in rural areas, we want to be able to flush the toilet when the power goes out 😂

    Sorry but I found it funny how people are worry about comforts. In a real life emergency situations, foods, waters, and good flashlights are what gonna keep you alive. Spending 10-15k for complete setup and and hoping to get 12-24 hrs of power is ridiculous. What happens if no power for 5 days? 😂😂😂😂

    • @TheSolarLab
      @TheSolarLab  3 месяца назад +3

      If you spending $10-15k for a complete system, then you have solar panels and a much larger battery bank then just 1 Delta Pro 3.. so it’ll last longer & you can charge it with the sun😂 that’s why it cost $15k LOL

    For many of us consumers this unit is a game changer with EcoFlow strictly because of the 240 volt vs 120volt outlet. That opens up a world of uses, including charging my Tesla.

    • @hcho8164
      @hcho8164 2 месяца назад

      My concern is the surge limitation. If 240v output can not put out if a surge happens, can you setup the ev to charge without a surge. And would that defeat the purpose of trying to do level 2 charge in the first place. Level 1 charge is too slow for some folks.

    I wonder what testing would be like if they tied two of these together via the EcoFlow Double Voltage Hub. I have seen several videos online where people do this and then connect to their panel with a 30amp generator inlet to power their whole house. Seems like it runs everything without issue in those videos.

  • @gofy8481
    @gofy8481 22 дня назад

    the fact that you can run the 240 out, while charging 120 in, is a game changer. So when you are powering your house, and the battery gets low, you can plug in a simple small 110v generator, and charge the unit WHILE it is outputting 240 to your transfer switch. You can't do that on an Anker, and that is probably going to happen. Also, the Anker has a 6000 watt inverter, but why? I mean you can run at 600 for about 30 minutes, and the battery is done. That is why Eco Flow smartly just left the inverter at 4k, which is really where you should be using this thing. Your fridge, a couple lights, and your internet hub. Typically this is how people use this as backup. Anything more and you need gas or diesel generator.

    Great video bro ! I own a couple Ecoflow products including Ecoflow delta 2 + extra battery wave 2 and a couple of 220 solar panels. I’m gong to be in the market soon for something much bigger and I’m debating on the delta 2 max or the delta 3 pro but with the brand new refreshed version of the wave two and the Delta three pro I’m assuming a refresh version is coming for the Delta two and Delta two max as well👀 might hold off until a brand new delta2 or delta 2 max is released. My guess is it will be a smaller version of the Delta three Pro

    The problem with all of these devices is that the KWH is still far too small. Then they sell you additional battery packs. Why not make a 10KWH device and then they become really useful. I use 3 kWh just using my computer, printer and desk fan over a 14 hour period. Forget boiling a kettle or running a heater of any sort for any length of time. These devices are really designed for camping or mobile homes. Also the cost is far too high if anyone was thinking of buying these to save money on electricity. They need to be less than half the price and even then the payback is around 10 years when the guarantee runs out.
