I stopped pushing pre-saves a long time ago, but I think you have an interesting approach here. Nowadays I just release and then promote, but I am not sure if that's an effective approach.
yes, the hardcore promotion should always come after release - but the pre-release period is still essential to test what content types actually resonate for each individual song!
