Just wanted to share my plans as we've been traveling and visiting places in SE Asia for over ten years now but we still have not decided where we're going to die before our last breath. We had a chance to visit resort home care in Chiang Mai, Thailand with 5star reviews and and the facility is like 5star resort with your personal care 24/7, food menues, and social programs for elderly. You get your own bungalow with amazing view the mountains. There's a waiting list and the monthly cost is around $1,500 per person. My wife really likes the facility very much as they also have both short and long term cares. This facility is owned by British families but the nurses and staff by Thais. We met all nationalities who stayed there. Hopefully, Cambodia will have nursing care facilities in the future. Sharing is caring. Peace✌️
Thanks for bringing up a very important discussion. I think, your house with hired care giver in SEA works the best. In Thailand, these facilities are present in cities like Hua Hin and Cheng Mai. These cost a fraction of cost in the West. However, having your own house with caregiver works the best in opinion throughout SEA. Not only Thailand and Cambodia but also Phillipines and Indonesia. I hope similar facilities come up in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Kampot.
I heard that you can hire care giver thru agent that cost $300 per month (they don’t stay overnight ),$500 per month for 24/7 Agent have good workers that has good background checked If you are not certify with him/her the agent will replace a new care giver for you That available in Phnom Penh ,don’t know about other location
You can probably start by visiting the place and rent an apartment to stay a few months or less to see how you feel about it before you make your decision. Good luck!
Thanks for the information. We all need to decide where it's best for us. The US is much too expensive and unaffordable for many Americans. This sounds like a very affordable option in Cambodia for a person to provide what is essential until our passing ? A nurse perhaps could be obtained to assist a caregiver if needed occasionally ? --- Enjoy your content.
Medicare doesn't not provide long term care, only short term (90days) for rehab in nursing home. Medicaid does provide along term care. But you have to be fallen into certain financial criteria.
@tachapchannel Yes it tru, but do you see Cambodia healthcare? You sick you will lose everything, sell land and everything still didn't save them!! Even these Cambodian comedians get sick and lose everything , start begging for donations! American hospitals cannot refuse to help you if there is an emergency , Cambodia no money you dead

It's good to hear from those with experience in other SEA countries!
@@jeswmuke Fantastic ideas! You own your house already and all you need is a caretaker’s which is a fraction of the cost.

Hi Tachap - Thank you for sharing and especially educating people from young to older adults about enjoy life before too late.
Good point
There are pros and cons though. Choose is up to people, right? I might one day go back to Khmer after kids become adults and leave home.
