Fabulous. In about 1988, Gutman replaced David Garingas(or Daniel Shafran, I forget)for a performance of the second Shostakovich concerto with the Dallas Symphony. It was unbelievable, even in the acoustic barn that was the Fair Park Music Hall. She's incredible then and now. Thank you for sharing!
If it really was one of them you should be crying right now for missing chance of hearing great cellists. Instead of that you have been on natalia gutman.
Excellent performance, and I have always loved the piece

Have heard her too in that concerto, the orchestra was even covered by her:)
Brilliant interpretation!
She is a fantastic cellist.
She is, but sorry I thought it was a guy in drag at first. lol. No offence meant.
David A If you didn’t mean any offense why the fuck would you comment that
@@DavidA-ps1qr embracing for you, that you don’t know Natalia Gutman, 😱
@@ViolinCelloVerna I'm not a cellist, as you probably realise :-)
@@georgieg2038 To upset politically correct people like you. It worked. Ha Ha Ha.
Amazing work
Does anyone know where this recording is from? Did she record this sonata on any LP or CD? I haven't found it in her discography so far...
