I hope you make sure the van can pull a larger trailer up a mountain pass when fully loaded, before you make the purchase. But then again, if it didn't it would force you into a new home like you've talked about.
A slightly larger trailer won’t weight much more than what I got now, and the motorcycle is lighter than the previous one. 🏍️👍🏻🚐

I rode Honda Shadow VLX bikes, 600cc. Had 3 of them, a 2000 (her name was Chaka Khan, because her riding partner was Rufus), a 2002 (her name was Jelly, purple like grape jelly) and a 2004 (her name was Cheri, she was cherry red). Loved them all and they each had their own personality.

Probably a good decision. I have a Goldwing that I love....until I hit sand on the dirt road. Your new bike looks fun...and actually a necessity if you're boondocking.

Only thing I would tell you is think about how easy the trailer you have is to tow size wise and with single axle, I know you need more space, maybe consider adding a side door to the one you have and see if that helps it would save money and a lot of work, otherwise I would consider a 6X10 all aluminum to save weight
A 6x10 won’t be much heavier than what I got now, and it will be single axle. 👍🏻🏍️

10x7 will give you a lot more room for your extra supplies. I have one that size and my HD Street Glide fits with plenty of room on each side. Dean

Every time I buy something new on 2 or 4 wheels, there's a string of purchases that follow. But eventually things do get dialed in enough for lasting satisfaction. 👍

You can always get a Honda C125 Trial...for off road...Or a Honda Monkey...Also parking the bike backwards and invest in a winch system instead of a new trailer.. Bigger trailer more pulling power needed and less MPG

It appears the benefits outweigh the negatives surrounding the old vs the new motorcycle. But I do miss the sound of the vroom vroom cycle.

17:40 mark: I find it best to sit with the questions before making decisions. I will literally think about the choice I'm contemplating (in your case: buy a new bike and leave my old one behind? OR "this is the best bike for me" type of statement). If I ask myself if I should buy the new one and leave the old one, and I get a bad feeling in my gut then I know that it might not be the right decision. I let my gut rule most of the time because it's interconnected with our intuition.

I have an Interstate 6x12 dual axle trailer for tools and equipment. Works great and I like the stability the dual axle provides. Used, 6-7000 bucks. Actually my bad, that is a new price.

Why have bigger trailer? Bigger it is more burdensome it is to haul it around. Best to stick with what you have if you can get by. Also, an option in the future is getting a dual sport bike (e.g.mYamaha Ténéré) with panniers. They are lighter, can handle off road great, cheaper to buy and maintain as well as cheaper to insure. Best wishes.

I was wondering how you were going to get it out. Take all the stuff off the walls and move it to one side and the front. And then you'll be able to walk around your saddle bag.. Use mesh hammocks and suspend from roof and along the side❤😅 they will keep things from swinging.
