Even though I relocated from my home state of NC to Missouri 30 years ago, I still cherish the memories associated with Cheerwine, Moravian cookies as well as Neese's sausage, liver pudding, and probably most of all, NC seafood. Each and every time I travel home to NC, I have a dedicated cooler to transport Neese"s, Flounder, fresh NC shrimp and some Eastern NC BBQ back to Missouri. I was born in Winston Salem, so, the cookies were an absolute staple in my parent's home. Let's not forget, Krispy Kreme Donuts and the best cigarette tobacco grown on the planet also come from NC. Regardless of your position on tobacco use, tobacco paved the streets, built the schools and churches of NC and sustained our great state for a long period of history.
I agree with you. Born and raised in 910. Had tobacco fields next to my house growing up. My grandma lives out ur way Branson! I enjoyed reading ur message as I love nc to the death of me
Love Cheerwine and there is only ONE pickle Mt. Olive. Grew up about 20 miles from Mt. Olive and picked many a pickle that went to the company as a teen over a half century ago. And Ashe County cheese is amazingly good.
As an upstate SC native I've grown up on local products. I know I've left the South when I can no longer find Cheerwine and Goo-Goo Cluster's candy in the stores. I'll be looking for Ashe County cheese, and if you like Bleu Cheese try the one made in Clemson SC; until 58 it was made in Stumphouse tunnel dating back to the war between the states. I'm not a fan if ginger cookies but I'll be trying some of Mrs. Hanes this Christmas. We're in a very special part of the world, so support your local businesses and history so we keep being special forever.
yeah cheerwine try it once and chances are good you want be back for more. being from this area i can say that. i don't know a soul that actually likes cheerwine.
I prefer the much more reasonably priced DEWEY'S COOKIES. And Claussen Dill pickles. Where's the BARBEQUE??? NC food show without BBQ is full of swiss cheese holes. Just saying.
I grew up with some of these brands!
I'm proud to be apart of North Carolina. The best state.

If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress.
If you would take, you must first give, this is the beginning of intelligence.
I used to live in my neighbor's fishpond, but the aesthetic wasn't to my taste.
If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, if your house is on fire, then you got a problem. Everything else is inconvenience.
cheerwine sux
I love the taste. It's the ingredients for me. Haven't had any soda in years.
A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.
