I just ordered this gun last week and picked it up this morning. This is my first shotgun. I stripped it down easily thanks to your video, cleaned it all up and put it back together. Everything seems to work smoothly, and in a little while I'm going to find out. I'm about to step out the door and head to the range for my first shotgun practice. Thanks again!
@@MrTetsagaYep. It's best to clean your firearm when you first get it, this way you can clean off any anti-rust oils put on at the factory. Oil it after cleaning, not a lot, just enough to coat moving parts with a thin film of oil/lubricant and you should be good to go.
Just picked one of these up after my Maverick 88 shit the bed. Thanks so much for your informative, detailed video. People complain about tutorials being long sometimes, but understanding it better helps us do it quicker on our own end with practice. Great content.
I just bought one of these shotguns and this video is by far the best and informative, especially with the bolt as I was considering that to be the most difficult part but you made it all look easy. Now will go into this procedure feeling very confident. Thank you sir!
Revisited. Just did a disassemble yesterday. Thanks to you again for the post, your knowledge, and your professionalism. Your voice reminds me of Clive Owen in Inside Man. Calm and cool. Peace.
Thank you for the slow and methodical demo. It was very helpful. I will be watching again as I disassemble my new SXP Extreme Defender for the first time so that I can familiarize myself with all the working parts before I take it out for the first time this weekend.
I just picked up the SXP Marine Defender in 20-gauge, with the chrome finish. Followed your instructions to the letter, and they made reassembly and refitting of the bolt, in particular, a lot easier. Thanks!
This video was very helpful, I found your explanation, pacing, and attention to small details very informative. I'm going to start cleaning and assembling my SXP with your video as reference. Thank you!
Thanks, Brother! Got mine out of the box and the slide wouldn't move in either direction. Couldn't figure out how to proceed without taking it apart willy-nilly until I found your video. wish these gun companies would supply detailed instructions in setup. You covered it so thank you very much!
winchester is said to have the smoothest pump action. i watch lots of gun vids im surprised dont see many winchester vids! mostly mosberg, remington. i had the 12 gauge 50 years ago with the win-chokes, had something plastic inside dont remember what, i traded it in for an ithica 12 g semi auto that was amazing.
Your video is so much easier to understand than the booklet that comes with the gun; especially the part about disassembling and reassembling the firing pin. Thanks.
I honestly don't understand why Winchester has not done better with sales over the years. I understand that they are made in Turkey these days. I always thought they where great shotguns. Maybe the best pump for the money. The ease of dissembly , and the rotary bolt . The best design out there IMO. Similar to the Benelli Nova.
I hear you. The shotgun is extremely reliable, virtually indestructible and, assuming you can find one, quite affordable. As for it being made elsewhere, that’s just the world we live in...
I like how the bolt attaches to the action bars, and how the trigger assembly has all the internals clumped together. I run mossberg myself, had Remingtons in the past, but this looks like a slightly easier process.
Bought myself a Winchester SXP hybrid last month I am very pleased with this shotgun and thanks to your video I should have no problem cleaning it now excellent tutorial video thanks brother 😎👍
Sweet thx for sharing. My buddy just picked up an aluminum mag tube version of this today n fresh out of the box i pulled the forend out n the bolt came out of the receiver n for the life of me i couldnt get it to go back in. I feel like it was catching up on the ejector spring but then the bolt came off the rails n of course the f pin came out 🤣🤣 . But i feel like i could do it blind folded now, thanks again 💪
Great informative video. As i have just ordered my first SXP Marine Defender shotgun, i am looking forward to learning how to disassemble and reassemble properly.
Thanks for the help. I'll check out some of your other videos. Unfortunately my SXP Trench is broken. The slides broke. I have to send it to Winchester to get it fixed.
Man this is such a great video. Just got the extreme defender version of this firearm. I never had a pump before so this is helping a ton to get the deep cleaning and just the knowledge of knowing how to break it down. Thank you!!
Nice video I bought an SXP 20, it's the first one I've bought. I've always liked this thing about weapons and I never thought about buying one, but well, I'm an apprentice because of this, as I was assembling the barrel last night, I didn't want to get into it and I had a mess, watching your video. For the barrel to enter I have to remove the trigger group, is this correct? Thanks for the video...
Not surprised on how many positive comments for this video. I am about to do the same. You should become a full time RUclipsr. Make sure you make it a full 10 minute content video and allow ads for you to monetize.
Any suggestions on why sliding my handgrip will not fall back completely into the receiver (at 5:55)? When I slide the handgrip on it is getting hung up right as the bolt enters the receiver. I can not get it to slide all the way in. I have not removed the trigger group at all, so not sure that is the issue. Any help is appreciated.
@@bandofbrutes1086 Yes. That was the missing piece. I removed the Trigger group and was able to reassemble. The fact that the arm was able to be removed without the trigger group being removed was causing the confusion. In theory if the fore-end was able to be removed without removing the trigger group, then logically the arm should also be able to be reassembled without removing the trigger group, but apparently not. Thanks!
I’m having issues reassembling, in particular the putting the bolt back in the receiver. It seems to be on the pump correctly but the guide rod is binding on the ejection port side. Did i miss something?
Has anyone put a sling and bayonet on an sxp trench? I just bought one. I know its not the same but I'd like to try to make mine a pale shadow of the original. Work with what ya got right?

shouldn't you oil it back after cleaning it? Also should we clean it right after buying it?

The explanation of the firing pin/bolt/slide interface geometry was outstanding. Great camera angles. Excellent video, thank you.

There was a couple times when what you were doing was not in the view of the camera.
However, it was a nice and clear demonstration.
Thank you!
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Man, that was smooth...
Very well done - thank you.
Glad to help--thank you for the comment.
this is the best video about disassembly&reassembly of Winchester SXP def. Thanks a lot
Such user-friendly and clear instructions. Thanks bro. I'm thinking of purchasing the 7+1 high capacity version of the SXP.
Thanks, man. For the money, it's solid.
Thank you! I'm a first time Winchester shot gun owner.... You did an excellent job of explaining how to disassemble and reassemble. Job well done!!

Brought this exact shotgun home from Cabela's today. This video was perfect to help me strip it down and clean it. Thank you!!!

It also doesn't help that they have a reputation for not feeding, especially with 3" shells.
Yes,thats it..Slowly,and calm explanations..Many thanks...Now I can disassemble my SXP...:)

I have the long barrel black shadow. Wish you could swap out the tube so to accommodate the 18" barrel. Great vid.
By far the best video on disassemble and reassembly of the SXP shotgun! Nice job!
The bolt is a little different compared to my 1300. Glad I watched such an informative video. Great job

Thank you very much for this very helpful video.Greetings from Italy.
I just realized this is not even the gun I have and yet it helped me put mine back together.
I always appreciate videos like this-easier to follow than owner’s manual. Great job!
Best video on this gun.... Great job brother
Cool, this is a decent gun, very simple, reliable, easy to assemble and use.
Good video, i'd recommend first checking the magazine tube and then the chamber.
Excellent video. I just purchased one 2 days ago.
Thanks, this was very clearly explained and helpful!

very useful video; I've got the very same shotgun and it is indeed the most easy one to disassemble
Thank you I just got one two days ago I bought it used and needed to clean it
"You'll shoot someone's eye out"
I just had a flashback to Christmas Story 😅
Would this be the same process for a Sxp defender extreme?

Thanks! You made disassembly look very simple. It would have been great if you included how you oil it up after cleaning
Great instruction, articulate and no bs, well done.
Thanks. Yep. You're speaking my language.
Thank you this 💓 was very helpful. I'm thinking about buying 🤔 a winchester sxp.
i have a question for you, i got a bow tie for this shotgun, but i think its too small for this barell, how to put it on the barrel??
Very helpful and clear video, thank you.
bro best video ever, thank you so much
Please do more vids on this gun. Mag extension would be awesome
Very descriptive take down! Thank you! Do more vids, man!
Much appreciated. Some tactical modifications coming up!
Great video! Thanks for making it
I see you have drilled the chaseing for threads. Holds fine ?
Thanks for that, very helpful for us knew to the 1300 defender!

I wonder if its the same process with the Winchester water fowler 🤔
Couldn't figure out how to get bolt back into the receiver after it accidentally came apart on me...Now I know...thank you.
Excellent video. Question, based on what I've seen, this is a very robust design. Durable. Would you agree?
Thank you. 100% agree. You could say that the design is bullet-proof...

nice video, thanks wish showed how and where to oil it if needed
Is the triger group full metal or the housing of the parts is plastic like in maveric 88?
How do you remove the extension ring for the slide arm?
Im trying to replace the slide arm and i have nothing to break the torque
Great job you explained it perfectly thank you
is there any way to remove magazine follower plastic cap and replace it with phase 5 12 gauge?
only thing i would add is what are the oil points before putting it back together? :)
Thanks. I just may do that.
Ok nice but my model 2200 the barrel wont come off and the shell tube the slider wont move forward any ideas ?
Can you make a video on how to clean and oil it?
I'll definitely do that after I finish my tactical modification videos--thank you.
Do you have to remove trigger to take out bolt really?
Really clear instructions thanks!
Very very good Video! Thanks 🙂
great detail!
